Not as grumpy? I'm only 15 minutes in and he's already fussing at the fish and the geese...sounds like good old grumpy Dave to me so far. Maybe he cheers up later.
I caught my first flathead on 5/13/2020. My river has a very small flat head population it was only bout 8 pounds but that is pretty decent fish for the river. It was pretty amazing feeling. Edit: mind you I've been fishing this river probably about 25 years. I'm 33 haha.
Exciting to see what will come out of the water! Interesting how you can tell what kind of fish is under the water by how they react to the hit. Love your videos!
Catfish Dave when that flathead started pulling line I saw you smile and laugh for the very first time. I didn't think you had it in you!!! You actually have a very nice smile!!!
Hi, you catch all these beautiful fish and put them back in the water, I wish i could fish in a place like you, i would take take some of the stripes and cats home with me to eat, the stripes are very delicious, yum, yum
I have been watching your video's for a solid 3 weeks straight every day, just absolutely love your channel and always eager to see the next, tight lines and keep em coming,, we all love you🎣🎣
Just found your channel from a heads up from Hook, Line and Chill !!! Takes me back to fishing the Wabash River with my Grandpa Majors at the Age of 7 in 1960 !!! The Gar was always our bait stealers !!! Got to watch about 7 video in the last 2 days so I'll catch up with the old and new as the come out !!! I play an old D28 Martin plus about every other string instrument !! Playing Mandolin in our Bluegrass Jams now!! So Hello From Sebring Florida but my roots are from across the Terre Haute Indiana line in the country side of Illinois by the Wabash River !!!
Dave!! Man! Those two stripers were huge, I know you don't like them. Those first Blues were nice. But that last cat was incredible! Man you went slap off! Great video! Great information to man! That's why I love your Channel!
Great catch Dave!!👍One thing I've noticed since you have been catching fish from your boat, and using the rods with somewhat softer tips; is that we can appreciate just how badass, and hard fighting these brutes are!! Wow! Tight lines!!👍🎣
That’s the word Dave! I agree on that stance where you said once you establish fish are at a spot, work it for a while because they’ll always show up again. Also liked the story along with the video. Keep slayin
The right bait, in the right place, at the right time, is the only way to catch 'em! I'm also glad to see you got a bigger net cuz there ain't no way that flattie would have fit in your "dink" net.
just stumbled on your channel after buying a boat and watchin videos on how to catch catfish off of one...and boy im glad i found you. im from kanawha county and will be fishing the kanawha river a lot and ive already learned a ton from you. thanks
You were talking about that hole by where the Big Bear is in Gilbert! I know it! Small world, Dave. I've fished there. I always chuckle when you get a big striper and pretend to be angry about it. 😉👍 That fat flathead…lordy. Thanks, Dave. Tell Knoxville I still love it even though I don't live there now. See ya next time, brother! Tight lines! 🎣🙋♂️
My wife’s family is from Mingo county. Justice, Welch. My father in law fished the Guyandot River growing up. Carter, Morgan, Collins. BTW, you’re going to do a video with a lost rod someday soon.
Hey C.D. Im a student of K.C and he respects you so I do to. I've subscribed and hopefully will learn from you also. I fish the Potomac, Rappahannock, Shenandoah rivers in Virginia and west Virginia. They are definitely here!
Huge flat head Dave. I got a 51 lb flat head last weekend. The take down and the fight was the same. Didn’t think it was that big till half way in. Then.started peeling drag. Great video.
I lived in Williamson in Mingo County West Virginia and know about how hard it was to catch nice flatheads up there. My brother and I fished the Tug Fork and flatheads was always our target fish his personal best was 36&1/2inches and mine 36”even and he always told me he was catfish king because he had the largest one.Anyway I live in Dandridge Tn. now and love your videos. Could you talk some about Douglas and Cherokee lakes and more about the French Broad.. Thank you. Jerome Morris. Keep it up.
Dave I'm a take one out of your book, "how bout that you got that flat". That was worth being in the right place at the right time. Keep the film rolling 🎥!!!
Dave, I had a teacher from Mingo County/Matewan. His name was Dr. Herb Cline. I am sure you know of the Cline family with Perry Cline stirring the mess between the Hatfields and McCoys. I also dated a girl from Delbarton in Logan County. If I understand correctly, Mingo Co was taken out of the old Logan Co. The girl from Delbarton was beautiful and loads of fun!
WOW awesome Flathead. Glad to see your intuition payed off. There is a lesson there. What do you got against those dag blasted fish with the stripes? The Tug is my Drug! LOL. The T-Shirt is pretty cool. I will check her page out. After I watch a few more of your videos. Coffee and Catfish Dave, a great way to start the morning off.
