1983 I believe. Fantastic Fantastic Fantastic performance of Richard Conti music from grand movie The Right Stuff which won Conti an Academy Award. Conti is one of the best composers ever. Especially his music for the 1984 Papillon Helicopter Hawaiian Travelogue masterpiece On the Wings of a Butterfly. Two other aficionados of classical music and myself sat down and counted 65 distinct different melodies played in the movie by London Symphony Orchestra and singers. The melodies all had in common a aire of wanderlust and a sort of sadness, really tugged at your soul. I don't see how it was possible for a composer to produce a musical tome with 65 melodies.
