The Right Way to Change Color in Photoshop!

And yes, PiX has done it again. Crazy good tutorial below 1 minute with a technique that gets rid of all the problems you and i, mortal average Ps users, usually come across. Editing is smooth too ! Might require a bit more work for sure, but I like the fact that it's not just a "screen" video. Thank you so much for these :]

I have been using Photoshop since 1993, you have some of the best tutorials out there.

Photoshop is one of those programs i know how to use for a month when i need it, but as soon as i stop using it i forget everything and i need to re-learn it every single time i need it.

This guy utilizes the absolute 100% of the power of Photoshop while a layman like me has just been scratching the surface all this time

I personally use the color range select option, works just as well but it's simpler Select > color range > you can choose a preset color or sample a colour > done Then creat a hue and saturation layer and it works the same

RU-vid shorts needs a Save to Playlist option.

This guy taught me more in a few short RU-vid videos than my computer class teacher taught me in a year.

Oh I know a tip for this method. If your colors look a bit weird (too bright, too dark or uneven) after changing the hue go to: Image > Mode > Lab And now it preserves brightness according to perceived brightness by the human eye!

This is what i call quality content, so many reels about dumb or fake tutorials of Photoshop with expensive promotion but you put so much professional work on it, and it's also free.

At first most the tips i saw in these shorts were things ive discovered through experience over a decade of using this program. But ill be damned, youve managed to find quite a few tricks and tips to share that I wouldn't have ever really expected to need to know, yet now have a thousand tgoughts on how i could use them. Thanks for sharing so many of these.

Wow this is a throwback for me, I had a Photoshop ROP class, which is just a class you take for credits at your school but at another location, and the teacher made a huge deal out of doing this method, at the time I didn't care because it took more effort and I didn't care about Photoshop aside from making stupid edits, but now seeing this today I can really appreciate how much better the result looks.

The coolest part for me was the gravel was slightly "reflecting" the color of the car as it would in real life. It was subtle but very cool! Make sure to include the ground around the car in the mask. Awesome work!

I would love a version of this demo which lets me see the whole screen, zooming in on random sections of the screen, especially when its a recording of a laptop from a phone, are just spacially confusing and leads to confusion when trying to do this myself.

You can also use a color tool that only picks that color then change it like that

The only way changing it to white or black and getting the blob is if you selected everything, I mean the handles the plate everything except the color red. The very least you can use select color range. You can also pick only the red Channel in Hue saturation

You can use a quick mask to clean up edges or missed spots also

Me who used ps5 and psp with loads of brushes and plugins really miss having access to such great software. Just cause its old doesnt mean its obsolete. Besides most new programs are the same code or functions, just a paintjob changed or drm added.... Ps6 or 7 was my favorite version of photoshop. Made so much fantastic artwork but lost all that with a hard drive fail.

If you want the color change to be even more accurate you can first change the colorspace to LAB, do the color change there (hue change actually works great by not over or undersaturating) and then go back to srgb (or cmyk or whatever)
