I was in O'ahu a few weeks ago. I definitely used the Waikiki trolleys, but only the single deck. I didn't do the pink one as I wasn't interested in shopping. I wanted nature and culture, so I went on the red and blue lines. The red line was the heroes and legends and the blue line took me up the coast. You are right, the drivers were fascinating to listen to with so much knowledge of their home, and it was just so relaxing 👌🤗🇦🇺. Also, my thoughts go out to the people of Maui 💔🥺
Ohhhh, you did it right then! The Red Line (for history and culture) and the Blue Line (for those stunning views of the east part of the island) are both so awesome! My family was just here visiting and hopped on the Blue Line. The drivers have so much knowledge of the island. I enjoy their little anecdotes, it makes each ride different. I actually pulled out my phone the last time I rode and wrote down some of the things that were shared! It was so interesting. 🙏🏾Thank you for your kind message. My heart is hurting for the people of Maui. 💔I hope for healing and restoration. 🌺
@@dwaynearoundtownI bet it was great having your family visit 🤗. So very sad the suffering of the Maui people🥺. I hope they stand their ground and have time to heal 💗.
@@leandabee Ohhh yeah! 🤗 It was soooo nice having my family visit. I took my mom and cousins all over the island. It was good for my soul to have them here. ❤ It's heartbreaking and devastating what the fires did. I also hope they stand their ground, keep their land, and take the time they need to heal. I can't even begin to imagine the type of loss they have endured. Love and aloha to Maui. ❤🌈
NO. WAY! This is so cool!! Mahalo for watching my little video and for sharing a message! I love you guys and the work you do. And Mahalo for those $5 rides! Hope to ride again soon!! 😎🚃🌴🌈
I really love love love your videos they are so informative and relaxing! You would make a great tour guide Dwayne! I will definitely check out the trolley ride on my next trip to Hawaii, it brings back so many happy memories for me i miss Hawaii so much and your videos are really inspiring!! Thank you so much for your great filming and taking the time to put a bit of happiness in to our lives!!! Mahalo
Aloha Michelle! 😎🤙🏾🌺 First of all...YOU are so lovely. I can feel your energy through your messages! Thank you for your kind words. 🙏🏾 I'm a pretty chill guy; I get that part of me from my Dad. I'm so glad to hear that watching these videos bring back happy memories for you. It's my joy and pleasure to share them with everyone. Mahalo to you! And please stay tuned...more to come.
You are right! I have noticed this a lot lately! There are times I see the pink line and they are bursting at the seams. I can't tell you the last time I saw an empty one. I like the Red trolley (Hawaii History) because it's so much to learn about the island. Way to go being creative!
Hi there! Make sure catch the show at the Hawaii convention centre for the Honolulu cultural festival.. Saturday-Sunday. We’re performing at around 3 pm .. Sunday is also the parade along kalākaua ave
Aloha Michael! 😎🤙🏾 Yes!! I am going to be there today around Waikiki! I'm so excited to see this parade! I hope you and your family are having a great time! ☀️🌴
@@dwaynearoundtown we’re having a blast in the island! If you can make it to the convention centre today around 3 pm you’ll see us perform on stage.. we are the Karilagan dance society .
@@mindlab780ab6 I love that you are having a blast! What has been your favorite thing so far? I have family in town this weekend so we are all over the place and I'm afraid we won't be able to join you at 3pm. We are trying to fit in all of the things today! BUT...I will totally be at the parade!
Hi Michael! Did you all make it to the parade? It was soooo awesome to see so many Pacific Regions represented! And the fireworks were popping! 😎What a fun time!
@@dwaynearoundtown yes sir.. we were number 49 on the parade line up . We’re the Karilagan dance society from Edmonton, Alberta Canada.. my 2 daughters were dancing the bunasuaan ( balancing the glass on the head while dancing)
I love, love your videos. Where did you start from for the Pink line. Where is that Trolley stand to buy tickets? I,m trying to understand how the Trolley works and not sure why it so confusing to me🤔
Aloha Angela! 🤙🏾 Mahalo for watching! 🙏🏾 I actually hopped on at the main stop (Kalakaua Ave x Royal Hawaiian Ave) near the corner where the Victoria Secret is. There is an umbrella set up and someone will help you! They are super nice. You can also get tickets nearby at Waikiki Shopping Plaza (same block as Victoria Secret, near STIX Food Hall) and you can also get tix online, which is quick and easy. I understand your confusion and I'm probably making it worse right now. Haha! I'm sorry. I was confused too until I saw it and then it all made sense. 😉I promise it's not as hard as I'm explaining. lol
Yes! Great question. I'm not sure what the average tip is, but my personal opinion is a few dollars should be good. There is a tip jar at the front and you can leave whatever you wish. The guides are really fun and super knowledgeable about the island.
Not the Pink line (or the others for that matter). I know they are other companies that will take you to Pearl Harbor. Check out Memory Shuttle Tours for transportation to/from Pearl Harbor.
Aloha, Love! 😎🤙🏾 Awww thank you! I wanna make sure I'm sharing some good info. 😉 Be sure to check out the Ala Moana Mall! It's one of the biggest outdoor malls I've ever seen in my life! 😂 I'm just NOW starting to understand the layout and I've been here 6 months!
Mahalo for such a kind message! Yes! I'm still a newbie here! I moved here from Los Angeles Sept 2022, so I'm a local now. I just wanna share good vibes and good places and good food, you know? That makes me happy. I will keep on posting. As a matter of fact, I have a new video coming out this weekend so stay tuned and mahalo for watching!
Thanks for the video! But I do have to ask about the person at 2:42 riding their beach chair down the street. What's going on there?!? 😆 We are staying at Surfrider in April of 2024. It will be our first time to Hawaii. 😎
Of course! Thanks so much for watching! Yooo....I see that guy all the time rolling in that beach chair! haha! I was so happy I was able to capture him. GOOD EYE!! He moves fast! Surfrider is really nice; you are doing it right. I've not stayed in a room there yet, but they have great outdoor bar, great live music, they offer a high tea (I'm taking my mom next week) and they also just brought back their breakfast buffet, so I hope you get to try when you all get here.
Dwayne: ok, i can hear your southern accent getting in the way of properly pronouncing Waikiki (why'-key-key). It'll become less obvious in a few years...
Hawaiiguy1! Aloha! 😎🤙🏾 You are so right!! Sometimes I hesitate saying certain words because I know it's probably coming out all wrong and all bad. 😳 I'm having trouble with O'ahu and Kalākaua as I hear locals pronounce them differently. What's super helpful is when I hop in an Uber and talk to the driver or have a conversation with someone local. Saying the language regularly and practicing really helps a lot. I'm going to get there...I promise you! 🙏🏾
@@dwaynearoundtown Gotta love the Hawaiiguy 🤙 He really helps out with pronouncing the Hawaiian words.. I have asked him a few times about different things and he has always come back with the help needed ! Much appreciated 🌺🤙
