Natural Bridges is a popular viewpoint on the Oregon Coast. It is part of the Samuel Boardman Scenic Corridor. The bridges are products of coastal erosion and make for great photography. There is also a lot of danger to this spot. Many people have fallen while trying to get a better view on the cliffside trails.

Update: someone did die within a mile on these trails this year. Will 2024 be 4 in a row?

I would not even think about attempting that trail. Looks Ok at the start, but that's not tempting enough for me. Viewing platform is fantastic enough view for me. Thanks for the take-a-long, and stay safe on all your journeys, your family needs you whole and well.

Thanks for the warning, I've been there and the trails were not good years ago and don't look like they've been maintained since then. I could make this exact same video about several trails to the beach in California and in fact I have posted similar videos and have recorded ones I haven't posted. Even a few days ago! I went to a beach in Humboldt and the wood railing in one portion obviously had fallen down a cliff years ago because you could see the rotted pieces laying there. I'm very careful at these barely maintained trails to bodies of water in California, Oregon, and Washington. There was one waterfall I crawled to with my son and saw people attempting to walk to with babies, and I told like a hundred people not to do that. Some need better warning signs, steps or railways repaired, be very careful, people!
@MattCookOregon

Thank you. Coastal trails/cliffs are no joke. Seems like most my coastal videos are warnings/dangers but to me that is the story of these places.

Great video! Are people ignoring the closed trail sign and just going further down at their own risk? I personally don't think that trail down should be closed. I can understand not allowing people to walk on the bridges though.
@MattCookOregon
@MattCookOregon Год назад
Thank you. There is no trail closed sign. But there should probably be more warnings at least. Someone just died a couple thousand feet away at secret beach last month.

I wonder if it easier to go down from the other side? Also how hard it hard to go over the bridge? Looks like a straight wall lol
@MattCookOregon
@MattCookOregon 10 месяцев назад
The other side is about the same, much less traveled. I don't think its hard at all, just very bad consequences if you slip.
