The Rise and Downfall of Elias in WWE 

Ruining Elias was bad enough, but doing that to his brother Ezekiel too? That’s too much.

WWE missed a mark here, a man as talented as Elias shouldn't have been released in the first place. With Vince now gone, he should be hired back again.

The only person that didn't walk with Elias was Vince McMahon.

Vince revived Elias by introducing Ezekiel. Hunter hated comedy gimmicks and dropped the ball on Ezekiel. Hunter was so wrong for this.

I'm so surprised he's not in Impact/ TNA. Idk about AEW. He had a great fan base. And he could actually play the guitar well. He had a great look. He's a big guy and he could wrestle as well. And you can definitely see his "Macho Man" influence. I mean he could have actually passed as a brother or his son. He even had the flying elbow finish. But he had the whole crowd screaming what WWE meant "Walk With Elias!!"

I used to be a huge fan in 2018 and the Ezekiel storyline recently was fun as well. It's actually crazy to me he was only ever 24/7 champion. Bro was getting huge reactions by the crowd everytime.

The sad part was his very short run as Ezekiel was getting good ratings. As stated Triple H just didn't like the gimmick. I don't know if it is due to the gimmick being a Vince idea from what I understand or just Elias wanting to return. Either way the fun part to the story ended very suddenly. I didn't mind it being a bit goofy. I actually thought we should have seen Ezekiel transition to the new Ultimate Warrior. He had the trunks and general look. He just needed that final push.

Suprised WWE never gave him a shot i felt like he was forever a jobber, he had the mic skills the crowd on his side idk what went wrong for him to be stuck as a jobber, was it his wrestling skills i never seen anything special in the ring but that never stopped WWE from making a superstar go to the top if they had the crowd behind them and the mic skills to back themselves up they were fine, WWE shouldve atleast made in a top middcarder

What people don't understand is the booking leading up to Roman Reign's failed Universal Championship match at Wrestlemania 34 held the title scenes hostage. Seth Rollins, Braun Strowman, Elias and a few other talents were starting to get over massively but while Rollins was midcard champion, it held back guys like Elias from winning it. While Brock was to hold the title til Mania, it held back Strowman and ultimately, the coronation at Mania never happened for Roman Reigns and he would lose the match. That Wrestlemania season was the most tone deaf of Vince McMahon, talents were getting over and he insisted on building a story of "Everyone falls to the F5, then have Roman no sell a bunch and prevail at Mania" and it didn't pan out that way

Well I think Elias/Ezekiel just came in era where WWE run by Vince almost reach the bottom. So he's underpushed, play characters that he doesnt shine and in feuds that goes nowhere. Hope he came back stronger. Really he has charisma as heel or face, he has the physique of main eventer, and has wrestling skills that often overshadowed bcs of how dull match & feuds he kept involved. Hope he return in the future.

Vince did seem to have this odd propensity for cooling off wrestlers who'd gotten themselves over with the fans Did the same thing with Rusev and tried so many times to do it to Daniel Bryan. Will always respect him for his work growing this company to what it is today but if you get bigger than what he thinks you should be he' ll bury you

They killed him for me when they killed Ezekial i literally back in the day only saw highlighs of wwe cuz of Ezekial, was very excited when i heard a 3rd brother will also appear, seriously this could have become something like three faces of Mick Foley -_-

So many people are talking about how bad he was misused, but he was there for close to a decade, he was on TV every week on the flagship show and got lots of television time. He was on multiple PPV and most important, multiple Wrestlemania cards. He was given a spot and a role and he made it work for a long time. He was over as a heel, he made good money. Between being on tv so much, that exposure sold merch. There are guys on the higher end of the mid card and guys on top of the card who didn't get as many Wrestlemania paydays as he got. I get that he may not have been used in ring as much as some people would have liked. But his run was nowhere close to being a failure or even a disappointment. I would put him in the same category as New Day and Zack Ryder. Guys who weren't really impressing anyone in the office and who were basically given spots that no one in creative really cared about and the office was just waiting until their contracts were up so they could let them go. But they made it work, and were more over than anyone expected they could ever be and lasted longer than anyone thought they would.

Am I the only one who thinks that Elias was alright at best? WWE buried people that were way more over than him. Damian Sandow, anyone? I mean, that was just management people like Vince and Kevin Dunn being Vince and Kevin Dunn.

It probably also didn't help that Elias donated campaign funds to ex WWE Wrestling Referee Drake Wuertz - a self-exposed Q-Anon Conspurist with white nationalist views running for a political position in Florida. Elias, EC3, Karrion Cross, Matt Riddle, Bobby Fish, Oney Lorcan, Karrion Kross, and Jimmy Jacobs were revealed to have donated to his campaign (though some claim they either didn't know of Drake's Extremist Views at the time believing they were just helping out an old work buddy or didn't know what the money they lent him was being used for). Most of those names have faced setbacks or fell into obscurity not long after that.

The fact is.. The WWE under Vince crushed way too many careers with his bad gimmicks and poor booking. Sometime there was nothing that could be done, a person just doesn't have "IT". Sometime, however a gold mine of talent was wasted because Vince just couldn't find an idea for them.

Gimmick was DOA. He had all of the rocks acoustic guitar while having none of the rocks charisma or promo skills.

Hopefully they resign him at some point. I enjoyed watching Ellis and he's matches were decent too. It was a mistake to release him. Send him to NXT for a bit before he returns to either Raw or Smackdown

I gotta say that Elias was a victim of being in the WWE when it was at it's absolute worse since 1995. It was probably worse. Storylines starting and just vanishing. Jay Jordan being Kurt Angle's son. I mean this was a period in the WWE that RAW was pretty much unbearable to watch. It was the shits. And it was all Vince. His finger prints were all over that trash. Thank God HHH is in charge. If the WWE had stayed at this period of time, AEW may have actually been somewhat of a competition. And wrestlers were wanting out. Alister Black,Mox,Swerve and many others,Andrade. So much more great talent wanted out or just let go. These guys would be so great right now in a white hot WWE. And I really hope to see these guys come back. And with HHH in charge. I can guarantee we may see some come back. Andrade is already back and in a storyline as we speak. They have their fingers on the pulse. And whoever does come back, we are going to see some great wrestling. Right now,as we speak. The WWE both RAW and SMACKDOWN, and ntm NXT. Well it's all pretty much must see TV. They got so much going on. Duch great storylines at once. Everything all makes sense. And they are doing great long term and some short term stories. However HHH had everyone with something to do. I can't wait to see what comes next! I mean WWE just debuted Toma Tonga. This guy is great in the ring and he can do great promos. And he's with Solo. So this is gonna be a Civil War in The Bloodline guys! And I'm just gonna say this. Roman should come back! God I really pray he does! This time as a face. Not the old Roman face character. But The Tribal Chief character. There's s big difference there. Im also aware of the fact that the WWE signed Jakob Fatu. Another incredible. And I truly mean incredible. A monster that can operate and is as mobile as a luchidor. He's truly gifted in the ring. And hed definitely be great debuting on the Solo side. I mean wait until you see Toms Tonga in a regular one on one match. The guys a veteran of NJPW. He can go as well. And it brings me to the thought that also we may have Tomas brother come back to the WWE as many remember I believe he did have a stint in NXT. Wasn't his name Comacho? But Toma was usually in a tag team. G O D ( Guerillas of Destiny) and they actually were tag champs on nany occasions. They were singles when it came to the G1 or other single agendas. But they were usually a tag team. And I'm sure we'll see Comacho in WWE at some point. As each side of this Bloodline Civil War is in it's earliest stages. So it's very exciting. We're definitely going to have these guys coming out of nowhere during matches. On each side prepare to see new established talent that sure will be unknown for the strictly WWE fan base. However,us ppl who do watch, we all know Toma Tomga. He's an excellent veteran wrestler. Who has great moves. And let's hope we see his brother soon as well. Along with their younger brother who is around 7 feet tall. This Bloodline Civil War is gonna be good. And don't let WWE pull the wool over your eyes. Seriously. We got a lot of the Samoans. The wrestlers and the civil war and the Dynasty of the Bloodline is really gonna be a great other chapter to the already incredible story telling and new chapter. And we are going to have some great surprises! And Roman coming back with the originals. Jey and Jimmy . Then have Roman. Big huge pop! And he's finally getting a huge po being a face. And that's gonna be insane! It's going to ne a lot of betrayals, best downs and unpredictably. Especially going into matches and not knowing if either team has a guy on their side eho could turn. We're talking some super next level story telling and storylines. And ntm all the other great stories going on. Obviously the Bloodline will be the biggest. But HHH had something for nearly most of his roster can get involved in. And he's also open to their ideas as well. Snd this is where I feel for Aleister Black as he and really the evolution of Swerve! Unbelievable. The WWE would be even better if they got some of their talent go that Vince had fired. When their contracts come up we'll see some very interesting things happening. I know they're also very interested in Wardlow and definitely MJF. Among others as well. At this point the WWE is now absolutely the place that all the wrestlers wanna be. HHH is a wrestlers CEO. He's probably the exact opposite of Vince. And he listens to the younger guys influence as well. So WWE is just gonna get better. Apologize for this long comment but this is the truth. I know Stone Cold,The Rock , Taker and the whole Attitude Era were incredible. And ppl can say whatever they like. Imo this is the absolute best the WWE has been since I can remember. No lies. And the money made and everywhere they go just immediately selling out. Packing houses wherever they go. This is the best version of WWE imo yet. And I'm a lifetime viewer since 1982 or so. As far back as I can remember. And ppl we are at the absolute peak. They'll break every glass ceiling . There are no glass ceilings. And there's no company on this earth that is even somewhat, not even anywhere near where they are right now. I mean I just saw Toma Tonga debut on Friday night and join Solo and beat down Jimi Uso. This is gonna be big. And the whole WWE in general is gonna have descent stories nonstop for everyone. And this is how it's supposed to be. I also can't wait to see what Walter does next. He's going after a title. And it's going to be a Heavyweight Title. I can definitely say sooner or later he's going to ein it and he's gonna goon a tare. So many great stories going on. This is definitely a new era. And boy we will enjoy the ride. We may see Mox return to Ambrose. He knows H is running the show. And I'm sure many wrestlers from AEW are ot have definitely contacted him and some are already locked in for a return. As well as others, like Toma who are part of that samoan side. There's gonna be more. And the return of Reigns is gonna be lit!!! #WWEGOTHIS

we could also say the rise and downfall of wwe. they got rid of many of their best wrestlers and now it gets really boring with very few big stars left and we dont see them alot. they also need to bring old stars from time to time to try keep things up a bit but for me it dont work much. i actually hate see old wrestlers make a comeback and fight for a big show or a championship when they been out for years. for example , they bring back The rock recently for a short time. it makes no sense at all. many big stars went to aew or elsewhere. its funny to see that they keep sell alot tickets and stuff anyway because people did not stop to support them even if wwe is not what it used to be.
