I literally started playing it again in season 5, I played a lot during season 1 and 0, in season 2 and 3 I played once, season 4 I didnt even have the game, in season 5, my friends started playing it, and the game is really fun, and the fanbase actually isnt cancer like fortnite.

This was probably a pretty accurate video at the time of its release but I think apex has mostly gotten out of its rough patch in the road. Sure there’s still issues to be fixed (better servers for example) but mostly apex is a much better game than it was at the time of this videos release. They turned down the ridiculous muzzle flash, balanced legends, balanced guns, gave sniper its own ammo, etc

At the point of this video was released, season four was literally four days away and if you would have waited a few days for season four to drop a good amount of your points have been heard by respawn, and now were getting tons of stuff to do with events being almost constant since the release of seaon four plus the add of are new legend, and really bring back the fast pass actions from season 1 or even pre-seaon. If you even seen the regular lobbies and ranked now considering you get really fast, and slow passed games pretty regularly, I have had games that are done by the second ring because of so much fast pass plays and hot drops. Snipers are really only used and medium range and even close up now, I've been assassinated by a triple take barely 50 meters away from me so many times it's hard to count. I'm not going lie though the ponit about Gibraltar is true, and a lot about weapons nerfs and buffs are true, but you have to remember, that these weapons and legends NEED buffs and nerfs for game balancing purposes, and we are even seeing Gibraltar nerf coming, and the point of pathfinder, wraith, and Bangalore being bot used for charging is, really, really wrong, I see TONS of wraith paths and Bangalores charging in and killing people for the hell of it, (Me included as a pathfinder main). What really shocked me about this video was how you said respawn was nerfing guns and legends so that you need less skill to play apex, witch I argue is correct, but playing and being good at apex is two completely different things. Yes, you can play apex with all this nerfing of guns and legends, but you will get your ass handed to you if you don't act smart and use your like to your advantage. To end it all off with sbmm, I think it has its problems as well and it's not perfect, but you can definitely still take regular lobbies very less seriously then ranked, like I have full on conversions in casual play, but in ranked it's mostly me being silent and listen for shots and people, and for last couple of weeks in lobbies I've been fooling around with the karber for fun. You bring up some good points for the time, and you are right respawn is not the best at listen to the community, but they are getting much better at it, especially with season four out now, and with ranked spilts, we may be seeing more legends and weapons per season with more map changes. I think you were a little haste in making this video, not literally, in the fact that season four was days away and lot things helped fix a lot of the problems in this video, I think you jumped the gun this just a little bit and you gave literally four more days, I think you would have been satisfied with the changes that came with season four. Maybe I'm wrong and your still mad that the old days of apex is gone, and season four is just not as good as pre season 1 apex, but you have to remember it's a game it's not all about winning, and getting kills, ok maybe in ranked, but it's mostly about having fun fooling around with friends and having a good time, not about getting mad at every little problem about apex, it may not be a perfect game, but what game is, everything has its problems, even you. Tldr Apex is better then most people think, and no game creator is perfect, nor is the game itself everything has its problems

Apex legends was the first BR ive played to date where ive felt like i actually have full control over my character, with my destiny in my own hands, and thats why i absolutely loved the game at the start, and why i played significantly better in apex than nearly any other game ive played. The movement was so so smooth, and it made me overlook the brokenness of the peacekeeper, R301 and the wingman, which is also slightly nuanced in itself, as they all didnt take zero skill to use, you had to be good to use them well, but when you can do that, you truly feel godly

Almost everyone that I see complaining about this game is pred level players (1% of the player base) . The game is made to be a team based game, they have not tried to hide that. Making the game fast paced so that one person can just go in and destroy a lobby is not what they want their game to be. Players can give all the recommendations they want, they don't have data to back up any decision being made where respawn sees and watches everything that goes on. They see things from the data being collected from the games being played, not from the very vocal 1% of players on twitter. Go work for a company like respawn for awhile and come back, I bet you won't feel the same way once you're able to see things from somewhere other than your own perspective.

Most of these points like less offensive plays in the game have all ready been fixed with reworks to weapons. The game is not dead at all alot of ppl play it

what i really like about apex is that in reality, it doesn’t matter what gun you use as long as you know how to be effective with it. You could take down someone with a r-301 with some good attachments by using a p2020 you just picked up for shits and giggles.

Sometimes I really wish I could turn back time video game wise. The first time is always the most memorable in my opinion. The first time playing apex,fortnite,cod, trying to find the meta and enjoying the game its a experience you only get to live 1 time.

Some of the complaints in the first half of the video were really popular opinions to have at the time, but in retrospect I understand where the devs were coming from. Bhop healing was something everyone could do, but it *strongly* enabled full aggro play and was a bit of an easy cop out move for bad positioning. Wingman was ridiculously OP. Plus it was completely broken if you had a character with fast heals like lifeline or a gold bag/shield. No hipfire spread, insane fire rate for the damage output potential. Wraith also never should have had instant phase. All these things were shoehorning the game into a super aggro meta with no real counter play. I agree with respawn in that there needs to be multiple viable play styles, but the way they went about balancing the game around gibby and wall hack characters as a way to counter defensive legends was completely misguided. I really don’t think they understood how little they really needed to do to nerf aggressive play and ease in more different play styles.

Retitle this: the Rise and Fall of apex legends for people in the top 1% skill range. For normal players, the game is fun. Always has been, and is fun still today. I’m one of those guys who doesn’t touch the wingman much, like you mentioned, but my friends and I still have fun and still win games now and then. What respawn has done is made the game more fun for a larger group of people. I’d rather lose to a team that I had a great fight with instead of being rushed by a wraith with gold armor and a skull piercer wingman and get fucked royally.

Apex it's really good now. No one uses Watson, the game it's growing, characters like Octane and Mirage are receiving a buff... The game it's trying to find its own balance

I would most definitely consider bunny hop healing an exploit. Just because it takes skill to do does not mean that it didn't stray from the dev's intended use of the movement option. Healing isn't supposed to be something you can fucking fly around the map while doing. It is obvious that the devs wanted a player to really consider how safe they were while they were healing. But bunny hop healing takes away from that risk. I understand that lots of players used and loved the mechanic. But it still runs contrary to what the dev's wanted from healing options and I don't fault them for taking it away.

It's still an amazing game. Half the shit you mention and bitch about you contradict at some point. This game isn't meant to be exactly the same from birth to eventual death. I enjoy the hell out of the current emphasis on strategizing with your team to win fights, combined with choice of legends that compliment and counter other legends. And you don't acknowledged (or understand) how the weapons system works. You get two guns. If you decide to choose and use a sniper you're sacrificing one of your two slots to be used exclusively for long range. If you get surprised by a team up close you're not as well equiped to deal with a short/medium range engagement. I don't know I just don't understand the mindset of a lot of streamers.

Hey man, its been quite some time since this video has been uploaded. I wasnt an average battle royale enjoyer as I mostly played COD, Halo, and other various games of different genres. I played apex briefly in season 5 and had like 2 matches and didnt like it, but i picked it back up in season 7 and it all went downhill from there, im currently at 1200ish hours on it with a peak rank of D4, I really recommend giving it another shot. I hope to see you out there man

This game had 1 of the biggest and fastest falls ever when it came out it passed fornite witch was unheard of but only 3 to 4 weeks later over half the player base was gone every season that came out it would jump then go down again but this newest season shows its recovering and hopefully it has the same rise it had when it was born

everyone that says "hes mad cause of meta change" well yeah, some of us old apex legend players liked the playstyle and meta back in season 1 and season 0. there's nothing wrong with being upset about how the meta is now. i personally enjoyed rushing and strafing and all of the movement-based tactics apex had to offer.

Apex is one of the only games to have rised to the top, died, then went back up to the top on multiple different occasions afterwards.

This sadly aged so well rip tap strafing and punch boosting Edit: tap strafing is still a thing :) but now everytime I slide down hills I feel sluggish and slow and miss the old speed :(

It's absurd to call falling a game that has been for over a year in the Top 5 of Twitch. U know HOW difficult it's that nowadays? I feel most of the points you did are just personal complaints rather than actual problems.

I was learning to play apex legends. Iplayed for like a month and then i got in to the zipline hopping mechanics to outplay other characters.I was very happy i got the mechanic down and being able to shot at the same time. A week from me learning that mechanic it got patched out. Well apex was nice experience for a 6 weeks or so.

I love this game. Started playing on and off in season 3, in season 4 this was pretty much all I played but this season I just can't have fun. It's always the same for me and my friend, havocs and spitfires as well as gibby. This on top of the nerds to wraith and pathfinder hit hard, lifeline is unplayable for me when not playing with my friend as my teammates leave before we drop or I'm just put in a game with no team at all. So all in all im very iffy at this point as I have very little fun I just hope it's fixed some what in season 6

I actually played apex legends since its released I was in a computer cafe and my friend said there is another battle royale then I watch the trailer and waited it I played it on season 0 until season 2 and quit season 3 up to 4 and now im back

Tl;dr: I don't like this buff, it took away something i like and buffed something i don't care about. Next buff: I don't like this buff, ... But going over the things said in order: 0. subtle abilties would mean no abilites at all (or picking them from the map like, say, Warzone). Also Teamgame boils down to teamplay, oh shook. 1. Yes, having only 4 characters to pick because of their kit goes to show that the others need buffs. (Low profile is good even tho it is hated, Fortified works on the other end of the spectrum) 2. Yes, 4 weapons were god tier, refer to point 1 why this is a bad idea. 3. Even after taking away "bunny healing", we still have more than enough movement "hacks" (like wall running). IMO, bunny hopping is a really flawed mechanic, and some games have it, some do not. You can also like the mechanic, or you dont (I find it silly, for instance). 4. Custom config files are just as the name suggests: Custom. Having them on a server based game is always a problem, and most games "officially" shun them (you wont have them in a tournament, for instance). Things that make you perform better is just a step down from cheating. 5. Watson is just a better Caustic, and nobody plays both of em (at least, in high tier comps (Check out bloodhound, Bangalore, Wraith / Revenant / Lifeline)) 6. Meta change, really? okay, I also miss the season 2 shield breaker alternator (which everyone hated btw) Snipermeta is a meta choice, because S3 and Crypto gave options for it. S4 gave us Revenant exactly to counter Bunker down styles, or sniper camps, etc. Most Battle Royale games are sniper meta by choice. 7. Gibby buff came from him being a giant target with bad abilities, and spoiler alert, Mirage is still in the same sitch (thats why my boi will soon get a rework). 8. PK was dreadful, then came the eva8, and PK was still dreadful. 9. Skillbased matchmaking rarely / never works, just ask League of Legends 10. Okay, game is old. We always want more content. Honestly, this is a perfect video describing the flaws of this game. I still play the game and I love it but I honestly do miss season 0 and season 1. I can understand most of this, but if you're not supposed to be able to run while healing then... B-hop healing IS an exploit, and should have been patched. I also personally fully support skill based matchmaking. It might not be fun for you to be matched against players with thousands of kills, but I personally quit the game because of how often I personally was outmatched because there was no SBMM.

Apex is different the game has not fallen actually it gaining more popularity everyday and for 2019 the game won the best multiplayer of the year and it was only out for early 2019

I never experienced the old stuff cause I’m new and apex is my favorite shooter. Maybe I’ll figure out advanced movement techniques

Not sure how Wraith takes skill. She is the only legend that has a get out of jail free card. A wraith main can run into battle like a headless chicken and back out with no consequences

There was 2 main reasons most people quit and they weren't listed in the video. 1. Hackers. They were fucking everywhere. If you got an elite streak of more than 10 you were a god or insanely lucky to not run into any. 2. Disruptor rounds. Once a hacker or a decent player got their hands on this with an alternator they'd just mow down the whole lobby
