Not every sneaker needs to be a banger. Honestly, this whole "market value" discussion that was developed has really changed the way people see sneakers and for the worst. The only ones that benefited from that were Nike (by raising their prices for the same product) and resellers. Now everybody wants the prices to come up and for things to be limited.
Most Jordans, when accounting for inflation, are far cheaper than they were back in the day though, so at least there's that. I mean, the original Jordan 4 price was like $275 (in today's money).
This is probably a great time for real sneakerheads! Especially anyone who love jordan 4s and now getting back to the times how it used to be sitting at retailers!

@@MrCarGuy87 and the worst thing about that is that the shoes rarely or barely get worn because of the associated market price it has. And when they do wear them people call them fakes because why would you be wearing a $1000+ sneaker?
I think the hype is still there. 4s always sell out regardless of the resale hype. I think it's that the resale market as a whole has changed, which is a great thing. Hopefully it continues on this downward trend until we can get any shoe we want for retail or even on sale.
Completely disagree that the A Ma Maniere 4s are a let down. They are a classy grown up version of a beautiful classic. Amazing unique material, raw edges, quilted interior, super comfy if you go a half size up. One of the best 4s ever IMO. Love your output bro keep em coming ❤
Sounds like you need a break from buying 4s or Jordan’s all together. I agree 22’ was mostly trash colorways but the Craft 4s are dope. Seems like your opinion is mostly based off 4s being widely available. Available does not equal fall off. Love your content btw.
I sooooo agree. Content creators seem to feel like if people can get a pair, it's a "brick". That is such a ridiculous mindset. I'm glad there is a variety. I only watch for entertainment, but I buy what I like and do not support the over retail resale market. They complain they want something different then complain it's too different 😂. Once creators drool over Travis Scotts, i start ignoring them because they are definitely boring and not unique at all anymore.
The Bred re-imagined and Military Blues in the same year does at least make this a pretty sick year for collectors to easily get these pairs! Been wearing my breds a lot and now they're broken in, they are uber comfy. When this year is in the rearview all people will remember are the bangers, they won't be thinking about the vivid sulphurs etc

I always liked the design but didn’t know it was that bad in comfort. I know the materials are less than stellar now but they look way better than years past
@@JasonMcClusky Jordan 3s are really comfy man. Obvs they’re not like Ultraboosts or something with a fabric upper and foam midsole but they’re very comfy for a chunky 80s basketball retro, can wear all day everyday with no issues.

They killed the Jordan 1 by releasing 20 different random colorways a year for a raised price, and now they started squeezing the 4's to see if they've been fattened up enough to be sent off to the slaughterhouse.
The Zen Master 4s are dope! They never went on sale here in the U.S. they weren't released here. They've been 400 bucks for 2yrs on the resale market (in a sz 14)

I am very pleased that the hype for GR AJ4’s have died down bc for a time being (18’-23’) Jordan’s & dunks were/are getting outta control and prices for some releases were crazyyyy!!! I’m going to say it’s the best time to be a sneaker head bc of all the options and color ways to pick from and the collabs are plentiful, I’m 34yo and I’ve never seen this many great choices for Jordan’s it’s amazing nonetheless
Another informative video. Really enjoyed and learned a thing or two about the Jordan 4 history. I believe the challenging economy and higher prices being charged for J4s are what’s causing it to sit in stores. I buy preowned sneakers nowadays to lower buying costs.

I just went Jordan shopping and the cheapest Jordan 4 still comes out to well over $200. I picked the Jordan 3 green glow that was listed for $154 and they came out to a little over $200. Sneaker resellers confuse the market with the way they price sneakers. They undercut the primary market by $50 but in reality they sell them for at least $50 more than MSRP with all their fees
Sneaker RU-vidr’s need to come to terms with the fact that the casuals have left the community. The only ones left are the true sneaker heads and collectors. Same thing that happened to the 1s. Nike sees the hype around a silhouette and they oversaturate the market with color ways we didn’t ask for or need and millions of pairs of the hype pairs

I dont think that jordan 4s "fell off".....theyre just easy to get now and people want shoes to be limited...reimagined 4s had like close to a million pairs and militarys will be more than that...
As a real sneaker head I’m happy! Just like I am happy all the “hype” around the 1’s has dropped off, I’m able to go back and pick up pairs for reasonable prices! I can’t wait to do the same thing with 4’s that I’ve missed out on. In my eyes this obsession with market value has tarnished the sneaker game for real sneaker heads!
I think you’re right on some things but wrong on others. Over saturation yes but looking at resell price as a guide is just wrong to me. The Bred reimagined were a huge success. For Nike the goal is to set a high retail price as possible but still sell out even with high production numbers. Some of the other colourways were not as bad as you made out in my opinion but what I would say is they were unnecessary, but I would argue that is the case across the whole Jordan line. Always good to see new uploads of your videos though even if I don’t always agree

I liked the Zen Master 4’s. Not enough to buy them but more than the Travis’. The OG lows and the inside panel on the Frag lows look better then the ZM’s but that’s it.
I couldn't agree with you more that whoever at Jordan brand is approving the colors of the 4s needs to be fired immediately...I actually pretty much agree with everything you said...if we were to see a version similar to the Travis Scott friends and family or the bred off whites they would have made a killing!!! 😮
My theory is the heavier the shoe, the harder it is to make a profit margin especially as a reseller. AJ4s are a pain to ship and a sizing nightmare depending on the colorway. But fck resellers so I love to see shoes sit at retail
Nike has oversaturated the market with a new release every week and people can't keep up and are being more selective. Also JBs quality on a lot of these retros are not worth the $210 plus price tag. Friend got the shock drop Military Blues this past week and the materials on those are cheap very overhyped shoe. It's stuff like this that makes people hold their wallets tighter.
Personally think the AMM4 are one of the nicest 4s of the recent past. Sold my SB4s, cashed in on the hype as I thought they wer3 over-rated. Passed on the BC4 but keen on the MB4s. TBH, there's just so much more out there for the money.
I actually like the infrareds. It’s got good color ms and color blocking. Hated the red thunders but odly loved the yellow thunders. The canyon purple are some of my favorites..not sure why. They grew on me. The crafts are both very boring but slightly better with a subtle lace swap to crème. Breds are 4 of the year. I don’t mind he Military blues.

Military Blues were wbat i wanted when I was in 5th grade and saw a kid come in with a pair in 89 (now you know how old I am) and i thought it was the coolest thing i ever saw. Parents couldn't afford them. I shoveled snow, mowed grass, but by the time i saved up enough they were gone. Didn't want the jumpman on the back. Patience pays off, fuckers. I bought 3 pairs. Lol
Man, I don't usually disagree with you... but my Infrared and Red Thunder 4s see way more foot time than my Military Blacks. The latter is just kind of dull.

Its a perfect time for people that love 4's but dont buy resell...its getting easier to get on release day for sure...and to be fair, without the SB on the pine greens, they wouldnt have sold the way they did and thats facts....theres some bangers in the chamber and tons of potential and i think jordan brand is realizing the crazy colorways just dont work with the 4 with the majority of collectors...im holding out hope for the white cement re-release and with the trends it seems possible its gonna happen soon....limiting the amount of 4's that release and using the 1's for colorway experiments is in my eye the best route to keep the 4 relevant...only time will tell how this plays out but as a 3,4 junkie at heart, i hope they dont continue the oversaturation of cold to lukewarm versions of the 3 and 4
I just want the military’s to complete the OG set besides that already have every 4 colorway I like so I don’t care about the hype dying on them thankfully I never had to pay resell on any of the 4s I wanted
I couldn't get the military blues. Yesterday I ordered the oxidized green and right after I ordered they had the military blue in size 10 and 10.5. I tried to change the order but there was no options on the website and I called but it was late at night and they told me to call in the morning and by the time morning came they were gone

I like the red thunders and navy’s I even like the green craft and all are average but I like them. Also green is one of my fav colors though. I still love my threes and ones I don’t give a shit what the hype is I mean seeing shit around does weigh in on the brain but fashion trends don’t really matter to me I love what I love. Regarding opinions on colourways etc you’re correct, that’s all according to my personal taste, but the point around Jordan 4 hype falling off bears out in the numbers and general sentiment towards the model in 2024
