Established in 1997 with the release of their first prototype, Remz introduced the first boot only skate and it looked unlike anything else on the market at the time. Since then the brand has grown and become home to some of the best skaters in the world, including Chris Haffey, Franky Morales, Nils Jansons, Josiah Blee and many others. But during the course of the last decade the majority of its biggest riders have left and the brand has become less and less active. In this video I chronicle the rise of Kato Mateu's unique skate design, the peak of their popularity with a team crammed with talent, and the gradual decline over the past decade.
