I sing a song
I paint a picture
My baby's gone
And I don't miss her
Like a swan
I don't miss swimming
All my friends left
And they don't miss me
Can't take it, babe
Your body talks to me
Like in a movie, babe
I let it resonate, yeah
I want your time (Time, time)
Don't ask me questions (Questions, questions)
That you don't want (Want, want)
The answers to (To, to)
I love you in the morning, so you know it's no lie
You're hiding in the background, but you wanna be found
You've got me on my back and now I've gotta think fast
You're hiding in the background, but you wanna be found
I take it easy, babe, I
I get down, it's automatic, I
I've come to believe in that
That too much time is evil
I transition in
I'm making your body wait
Like on an aeroplane
Please baby, take me away, yeah
I want your time (Time, time)
Don't ask me questions (Questions, questions)
That you don't want (Want, want)
The answers to (To, to)
I know
I know
I know
I know
I kinda miss the nine to five, yeah
Do those things that you can't hide
I scramble, fight just like a child
I'm staying hungry
I'm staying hungry
I'm staying hungry
I'm staying hungry
Not getting angry
I'm staying hungry
Not getting angry
Still staying hungry, yeah
Hold on, hold on, hold
The click was always in you Fab
It was never on
It was never on

WB was the problem. WB made the decision to base it on New 52 as an attempt to boost the brand and the animated movie writers were stuck with it even after DC rebooted the comics and DC 52 ended. WB made the production schedule where they had to put out 2 movies set in this universe per year. WB refused to increase the budget even after more than 10 years. Overall, I am pretty impressed that the writers were able to do as well as they could given the limitations put on them and the quite frankly crappy treatment by WB.

Yeah, I think it's pretty obvious that there were too many films crammed into such a short time period. It would've done some good if many of these films with similar plotlines and casts were merged into single films with higher budgets. At the end of the day, however, no one can deny that DC actually managed to pull off an animated film universe, compared to Marvel, whose animated films often seem random, here and there. Higher budgets definitely need to be addressed, of course. The next film should be hyped up for years as a big event.

I think the problem in the comics is that Damian’s progress and maturity as a character was subject to being undone by the next writer. Damian will learn to work well with others if not developed outright healthy relationships with his family and friends only for the next run to completely throw all his progress out the window and do it again just a little bit differently. Damian in these films, tries to find himself, ends up making friends, appreciating his family, learning to be apart of a team, and they never go backwards on those things.

Also to complain that it seems to be the era of the New 52 is just a pitiful argument..... what did they want? The same stories from previous era's that have been told more than Bruce Wayne's parents getting shot or Uncle been death. Totally straw man arguments.

I would like to point out that 2 of the movies you said you really liked (Justice League vs. Teen Titans and Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay) were the only 2 movies in this series written by animation legend Alan Burnett. For those of you who don't know Alan he was a main producer and writer for every DC animated show from Batman The Animated Series to Justice League Unlimited. He also wrote the screenplay for the Mask of the Phantasm which is possibly the best Batman movie ever made. The point I want to make by highlighting Alan is that the quality of these animated movies will always rest on whose writing the stories for these movies more than anything else.

Just a small detail, Alan Burnett is a legend for sure, but he only wrote a couple episodes of "Justice League Unlimited", and a dozen episodes of "Batman:TAS"... he was more involved in "Superman:TAS", for which he wrote almost every episode. Also, "Mask of the Phantasm" wasn't only written by Burnett, it was a group effort between him, Paul Dini, Batman:TAS writer Michael Reaves and a few others. Anyway, Burnett is a legend and it was an honor having him write so many DC shows/movies, may he enjoy his retirement ("Hell to Pay" was his final gig before he decided he was "too old for this shit"©)

My problem with this universe was that it felt very limited to the characters and setting around it. We never got too invested into this universe unlike DCAU or the Young Justice universe because we were only limited to characters and settings that they wanted to focus on. It really felt like they were trying to explore this universe after Justice League vs Teen Titans, but were restricted to certain characters, because higher ups at DC or WB animation wanted the writers and producers to focus on characters that they higher ups told them to focus on and how it should be structured. In this universe, only have 2 justice league movies (one was really just an origin story for Aquaman), 4 Batman movies(which 3 of them either focused or center around Damian Wayne), 2 Superman movies, 1 Wonder Woman movie, 2 justice league dark movies, 2 teen titans movies(which one of them also center around Damian), 1 suicide squad movie, and 1 Constantine movie. I feel like we should have gotten another justice league movie that properly introduced Martian Manhunter and Hawkman, or to develop the league’s relationship. We should have gotten more movies about Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Justice League Dark, Teen Titans, and the Suicide Sqaud. We also should have gotten movies that focus on Aquaman (and solely on him), Green Lantern, Shazam, Nightwing, Batgirl, Batwoman, Batwing, and Catwoman. Hell there were characters that were hinted about their existence in that universe such as Green Arrow, Blackfire, and maybe Black Lightning, or characters that were being set up like Jericho, Donna Troy Wonder Girl, and Wallace West Kid Flash but we never get to see them appear nor have major roles outside of cameos.

@randallflagg3700 Год назад
@@haruhirogrimgar6047 - Honestly, and I'm saying that as a big Nightwing fan, if you want to get into the character you'll have to rely on comic books. The first *"Nightwing"* run that, well, ran from 1996 to 2009 is a classic. That's where he settles into Blüdhaven and tries to become his own man/hero away from Batman. The *New52* Nightwing run was pretty clunky, there's some good stuff here and there, but you can skip it. The *Rebirth* Nightwing run (that started in 2016) is excellent, at least up to the point where there's the whole "Ric" stuff... Long story short, from issue #1 to #50 it's excellent, with some great conflicts against very good antagonists like Raptor, the Judge, the new Blockbuster, Dr Simon Hurt, etc... Then you have the "Ric state" which last for like 25 issues, before stuff becomes interesting again. Aside from the comics, I guess I'm one of the few that really like Nightwing in the show *Titans* , even if the origin story of his new alter-ego is super clunky. Season 1 of the show is pretty strange, much like *Gotham* and *Legends of Tomorrow* , this show's first season's tone is very different from the rest, and finds its stride in season 2. But maybe I'm just over-generous with *Titans* because before that, the only live action Nightwing I had was the Joel Schumacher one? Anyway, have fun.

Technically there kinda was DCAMU that ended up with Flashpoint Paradox , it included Crisis on Two Earths, Doom, Wonder Woman... Problem with DCAMU starts with how much of step back it was in comparison with previous movies. JL War was first where they start budgeting with animation and voice actors, and direction of some scenes were down right horrible, Son of Batman followed... Eventually Its story that tried to compensate yet rarely ever came close to anything prior to first reboot. Universe building itself had lot to be desired for, never got Flash or Green Lantern movie and Wonder Woman and Superman movies came way too late, while the order of some were just wrong, Teen Titans should been before Teen Titans VS JL just like Constantine should had been before JL Dark... For most part, it was mediocre... but when it was good, it was really good.

Yea, it felt like they were picking and choosing which character and team they wanted to focus on. Like you said, it’s really weird that they made a teen titans movie and a suicide sqaud movie before a Superman and a Wonder Woman. Everything after that was still the same quality but WW: Bloodlines really showed how much the budget of these movies were at. Like I said, I felt like WW: Bloodlines felt more like a B-project because it looked like they were saving enough money for JLDAW. And what makes the movie even worst is that it felt like an afterthought. The fact they made a Wonder Woman movie to be the second to last movie is just sad. I feel like the reason this movie exists is because of the success of the 2017 movie starring Gal Gadot. I feel like they should have made a Wonder Woman movie and even a Superman movie way before they want to focus on the justice league, teen titans, and task force X. I mean it was genuinely held back anyway. Yeah it had its moments, but overall I was consider it a failure because no one asks for a new 52 universe. That's the problem and that's something that DC should have understood cuz their previous movies before Flashpoint paradox were based off of actual story lines from the comics so they were taking the art style of the artist and the storyline and making movies that's more successful than hey let's try to merge all of these movies together into a cohesive universe when more people don't like the new 52. So it was sort of a failure on them to assume that a lot of the fans would enjoy The New 52 style of movies plus the art style was the same art style is Young Justice which confused a lot of people too as is it in the same universe or not when it wasn't and they should have got a new style if you're going to use a style of a Young Justice shoes you might as well have made it part of the Young Justice Universe if that's the case that was another thing that made the universal failure as well. Now we had gem's and it had moments but overall it just wasn't a good universe. And I'm kind of glad that it ended

While I don't think it was perfect and a little too narrowly focused on Batman, I still really liked this universe. The only movies I didn't really care much for are Justice League: War, Batman: Bad Blood and Winder Woman: Bloodlines. I loved Flashpoint Paradox, Batman vs. Robin, both Teen Titans movies, Justice League Dark, Death of Superman, Suicide Squad, Comstantine, and Apocalypse War. The rest were perfectly good and solidly entertaining. Were they great? No, but I still had loads of fun with Hush, Throne of Atlantis and Son of Batman. Even Reign of the Superman has its creative merits if you can appreciate it in a 90s superhero comics sort of way (the first appearances of Superboy and Steel were some of my first comic books, so I admittedly have some nostalgia). All in all, you can kinda tell it felt like it had an arm tied behind its back, but they managed to put some heart into it. Luckily, if people didn't like that main continuity, they always put out an Elseworlds movie every year as well that was almost always pretty good. I really want to see your take on the new DC animated movie timeline they've been slow building with Superman: Man of Tomorrow, Justice Society: WW2, and Batman: The Long Halloween parts 1 and 2 (and soon to be that Green Lantern Jon Stewart movie). You actually already touched on it with the Constantine short, because that exists in the new universe too. I think these four movies (and the short) are making for a much better foundation for an ongoing universe than the way the one discussed in this video started out, and in general, they're actually fairly character and thematically driven films. I also much prefer the art style to the previous one.

Artistically, I liked the fact that stories like "New Frontier" & "Batman, Superman: Public Enemies" mirrored their comic book style. Each of those earlier films (especially my personal fave, "Under the Red Hood" * chef's kiss *) felt like a unique & immersive experience; not weighed down by trying to make everything super connected. There were a few decent films post Flashpoint Paradox, but definitely more misses than hits. It might not be perfect but it was the thing (along side the early days of the arrow verse) that made me get invested in dc, marvel had its mcu that got me invested in them but dc’s movies didn’t do that for me but this animated universe did what the live action movies couldn’t imo I just hope we can get a live action universe like this from dc.

I just want them to make straight comic adaptations instead of altering things and trying to make all the movies fit together. They should consult the creators again, like they did in Batman red hood and Superman vs the elite, to have the true vision of the stories

To be fair Superman vs the Elite did actually change some stuff despite being written by the same guy
@MrZaku-rh4qt
@MrZaku-rh4qt 2 года назад
@@mikemorro140 the changes were made by the writer himself, and i like the changes made in the movie, i actually like the movie more than the comic because we get to explore more of the characters. Same with under the red hood, the writer made the story much more cohesive.

If you’re interested, they made the long Halloween into a 2 part movie.

Glad there’s a new one. If you’re wondering, it’s Justice Society WW2 (I think that is what it’s called), Superman: Man of Tomorrow, Batman: Long Halloween, and a new Green Lantern movie coming out.

After Under The Red Hood, the DC's animated stories went down the crapper, because of studio executives getting involved.

Tbh: This universe of been great if they did not shove Batman down our throats. It would been cool to get more Flash movies, Cyborg and Shazam teaming up ya know other justice league members. Plus I never cared for this verison of Superman so I never bothered watching his movies.

Death of Superman is the highlight for me. That said, every time they cut back to Doomsday on his way, I roll my eyes and I rather watch the more interesting developing Lois-Superman relationship…. Also I think they made a mistake revealing what Clark message to Lois was. They should kept it from the audience until the climax of Reign of Supermen

I don’t care what anyone says, “Justice League: Apokolips War” is one of the greatest animated superhero movies I’ve ever seen

Why because of all the violence???Under The Red Hood blows that out of the water, paying respect to the comic series it's based on great voice acting that shines with Batman and Jason's dialogue at the end of the film that was a great film not just cursing blood and shock value I'm guessing your 10 and like when things go boom 😒🤦🏽‍♂️

Lord Bane75 Eh. It’s cool, but a Batman movie vs a movie with so many characters from DC? I’d much rather watch the movie that has so many characters that i care about(not going to lie i can care less about Jason Todd).

@@magma55100 Don't get me wrong I like the big battle DC movies but for sheer quality across the board Under the Red Hood is just a superior movie...IMO

@@kal0247 I get where you're coming from but it's always nearly impossible to fairly compare a movie based off of 1 main character and a movie that was the size of Apokalips War. It'd be like comparing Avengers Endgame and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. For the amount of characters it had and the overall storyline and it being the final movie in the DCAU which has been making movies for years, it was an amazing movie

You have some valid thoughts there and I agree what your saying but if I had a choice on which movie to watch it would bebUnder the Red Hood I personally get more enjoyment out of that movie.

Well it being based on the new 52. I enjoyed the updated costumes the most. If anything the new 52 has great costumes. Story lines especially in the comics were not that great and were purposefully trying to be controversial. I have certain Biases but I think they showed a little too much Batman. Otherwise they improved on some of the storylines of the new 52. It is just sad it ended too early.

What if whenever flash does his time travel shenanigans instead of editing a timeline he’s just abandoning the one he’s in for a new one?

Really AMAZING job with this video!! As someone who has watched just about every DC animated universe movie, there were a lot of things that I agreed on with your video. Some movies I wish I didn't watch, and some of them I wish they did more of. All in all, I think the first movie flashpoint paradox and the last movie apocalyptic War were the best two movies in the universe. I heavily enjoyed those, and I think that they did it right with those films.
