Thank you, that was a great video. Born and bred in Nuthall from 1959, I've witnessed the destruction of my home ground. Nuthall was the only village in the UK to have a motorway run right through the middle of it in the early sixties...I live in Southwell now and that has not been destroyed.

Temple lake still remains on the left beside the A610 when heading east, approaching junction 26 of the M1.

I drive by here almost daily, I will never go past the Three Ponds again and not think of this once great building.

I think the same when I drive over that section of the motorway. I live just down the road in Watnall and sadly we lost Watnall Hall as well

Glad you enjoyed. I don't know if you saw the "Lost Halls" video I did, but this and Bulwell Hall, all lost within a generation. They'd be tourist attractions now raking in the money, but short-sightedness decided that demolition was the best way forward. So sad.

Even worse when you think that Chiswick House, which is also based on the same sort of Palladio design, is now a Grade 1 listed building, whereas Nuthall Temple is knocked down and then finally has the ignominy of having a motorway build over the ruins. So sad.

Agreed, when you look at similar buildings in the UK and Italy, which remain - they are all stunning... and protected!!

Interesting article but hideous music! Why do you think an article about a classical building people would want to listen to an indie rock concert in the background?.
