I’m surprised you didn’t mention the Tory article. That seemed to me the deciding factor that absolutely demolished her within the fanbase. Having there be a newspaper headline with you praising the Conservative Party of the UK is perhaps the worst thing that has ever happened to a UK Queen (much less a finalist). I firmly believe that this article is the reason she deleted her Twitter account.

I don't think that's correct. I remember her saying something about that and dismissing the allegations that she is a tory. Correct me If I am wrong, or if I missed something.
@@aquapichu4863 The article praising the Tories exists, but she has later since recanted & said she is “as liberal as they come”. Most people don’t buy the recanting and just view it as damage control.

I would agree except the UK Season 1 snatch game is honestly one of the only examples where it deserved to be a double win. Viv's Donald Trump was incredible, but Baga's Margaret Thatcher was just as good, especially if you're from the UK yourself it's even funnier.
Cheryl should have won the makeover challenge on UK S1! And it's really sad that production pushing some queens affect their reputation so hard. Baga has never been my favorite but that doesn't mean that I'm going to attack her for production decisions.
My only critique in this video is telling Juju was pushed by production, the girl was in the bottom half of the season and they even pulled a bottom four on Snatch Game when it was the only time she could’ve been high 😭
@@carloshenriquedeoliveira8071it’s a popular opinion that Jujubee deserved her bottom spot on the first ep of UKvsTW, she came back to the season doing the exact same talent as she did on AS5 except with an even more busted outfit and less energy than before. Not to mention her runway was one of the worst if not the worst of the night (yes I know her original runway didn’t work but it’s not an excuse to save her out of the bottom) I don’t think she was “pushed” by production whatsoever.
An earlier person commented her support for the Conservative Party, that was the nail in her drag coffin for me. I never took to her in the Drag Race UK 1st Season. I'm British & the catchphrase 'Much Better' - to be honest, I didn't realise it was a catchphrase until reading this! I thought at the time, why does she insist on saying 'Much Better'. She did well in the Snatch Game, only because she jumped on the coat tails of The Vivienne. UK vs The World was awful - embarrassing in fact. The winner - how? The Franchises are up & running round the world now, some excellent. I put earlier UK seasons as lacking experience - though I was extremely shocked to see Blue Hydrangea take the title. The Vivienne is one of the funniest Queens to come from RPDR. I am looking forward to seeing Danny Beard on the world stage. Recent winner Ginger Johnson will be a British version of Jinkx.
Hey, I like the style of content you make. However, I feel that the script of your video here invites a lot of hate towards Baga (and Jujubee), while the culprit behind her placements is production/the judges. You can at least attempt to make a narrative on why she might get a push over other queens. Plus some of the arguments against her placements seem unbased, as in the ball on UKVTW, you say the look isn't RuPaul, but neither are Cheryl's and Juju's, + Baga's other ball looks are in my opinion also better.
For me she was always a middle of the road type queen. She was there and played a role but she didn’t exactly exceed at anything. With nothing notable to save her, I personally completely wrote her off when I read about her political stances. Interviews as recent as 2017 tell me she isn’t someone I’d like to associate with lgbtqia+ rights.
some interesting takes, from a UK perspective, she has NEVER been a fan favourite amongst London queer people, 2 main reasons: 1. Her support for Theresa May - a racist and homophobic prime minister, 2. Her racist comments abour Somalian men. Loads of queer venues in london want nothing to do with her, her appearances on screen would get booed at viewing parties. The 'fan favourite' narrative is just that, a narrative, londoners don't want her (except maybe the straight girl fanbase). The way she treated her mother on season 1 was really shocking too, just bad bad vibes
Honestly i think her being safe on the ball was 100% especially if no one was low this week Her kitty look was incredible literatly her only look i genually loved ( edit : nvm i also liked the dots one ) and cheryl had the worse ru look and juju the worse butch and kitty look
I 10,000% am sure she is kept around to be in Snatch Game for UKvsTW. Its kind of like Pandora Boxx being kept around for snatch game in AS6 as well. I think production is scared of boring and unfunny snatch games so they try to keep comedy queens or queens who did well on snatch game before around to make it better.
I was surprised when Baga ended up on RP Drag race. Knowing Baga back in 2009 when we were encouraging her to perform, she had a beautiful singing voice, was both annoying and funny, but a very sweet individual too. I'm glad she did well during the first season and has gone on to appear on lots of other TV productions. She used to occasionally impersonate Thatcher as a joke but never ever picked up any political persuasion from that, but people change I guess and shouldn't necessarily be condemned for this. Ignoring the title of my channel, you can find a few videos and one or two early performance vids of Baga there.
The only thing I ever remember Bagga for is “much betta” because she hasn’t done anything betta 😅 idk how she could get to top 3 if she didn’t have a lot of help from production. There’s a whole lot of fuckery surrounding Bagga 🤨
This title was waaaay more dramatic than the content. lol. I thought I was gonna hear some real controversy like that she pissed on a family portrait of the Royal family while streaming live… or that she drunk her career into the grave. It kinda just ended up being that she was favored by production, which was evident but it’s something they do on all seasons.
I think they meant the "rise and fall" of Baga's reputation strictly as a RuGirl. I'm sure she's still super successful doing her own thing totally unrelated to drag race
I think this video really misses the mark. Baga is very popular with the fans, gives great live performances and has actually carved out quite a professional profile for herself. I’d say this video’s claim puts a slightly unfair/unrepresentative twist on things
