The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

Hatice Sultan was such a b**** for saying that. Hürrem saved your child that you killed yourself by sleeping while breastfeeding and you have the audacity to “remind her that she is just a slave”. These are the reasons why I hated every other sultanate member, they were always against her while she tried her best to be part of them. But Isabella, Firuze and others were protected since the beginning.

They were all jealous (in some form or another) of her because she’s cunning and she’s becoming more powerful in her right. She also has the Sultan’s heart and they have kids together so it’s a bond that’s hard to break. Women get so emotionally invested so they often say and do things to plot against each other specially in a harem.

She looked powerful when she became chubby during the show. She's the most healthy among all the skinny women shown.

@@noface3928 and what did I say? That she's morbidly obese? I did notice her stomach bulging out and she herself said I was overweight during the shooting. Go and fight with her too why she said that.

I've tried to like harrum, but it's so difficult. For one she wears her emotions on her face. She believes everyone will be on her side and keeps trusting servants that care nothing about her. She is so love struck that she doesn't make conscious decisions

My God, the humiliation and pain Hurrem went through for Sulaiman's women, my heart Goes out to her. I would crumble under the pressure, she was surrounded with enemies in the harem. This is not for faint hearted women.

I know they tried to make the drama more interesting by adding two women even though Suleyman was loyal to Hurrem when they got married. The show is about life, the women who made Hurrem in a bad situation teaches us about life. When we are in a bad situarion when we don't like someone or something.
