Part 2: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tULgDEf_gJI.html Dam I put "Time" instead of "Tim Westwood" LOL Woops. Hope you guys enjoy either way. Subscribe to ya boy fam, WEEZY F BABY!!!
Man literally got signed at 12, went platinum in high school, got a GED, went to University of Houston and graduated with a major in political science and minored in psychology. Man is a legend!!
Mind you folks Wayne is only 3 years older than Cole, 4 years older than Drake and 5 years older than k.dot. He's been in the game for so long that one forgets he's the same generation as these aforementioned guys.
@@antoniopalmer15 it's a pleasure bro. We need to appreciate this living legend while he's still alive and give him his roses because there'll never be another Weezy F.
That's an extremely good point... Wayne been in the game since he was like 8. I forget sometimes myself that I'm 4yrs older than Wayne seems like I grew up listening to him. AND it's crazy that my sons listen to Wayne themselves today. He's the greatest to ever do it... Timeless 💯
2006 when I got into when, heard him ok Holla at me remix. Was just different. Also I think poppin remix verse might be my favorite. Its just so fucking good man
@@VinylGuruOfficial shiiit all i see is ppl saying he’s the goat i personally don’t think he is but he definitely deserves all the praise he gets that mans work ethic is different
@@4DaFam there is a before an after Lil Wayne; that puts him at legend level imho, and Im not a fan honestly, but he really shook the rap game with a new thing. Too bad he's not taking care of himself and is evaporating in front of all of us with all his personal issues
The beauty of Wayne is that he can still end up on top charting hits without that nostalgia factor that other rappers have, he paved the way for the new sound so he feels at home, the man is timeless
@@prod.bydiegocorleone lil wayne didnt maintain? Do u even know what ur saying lmao lil wayne was jumpin from wen i was in elementary all the way to wen i was in high-school how is that not maintaining
@@ktownghost4026 being relevant is maintaining! Wayne hasnt been relevant since the cash money lawsuit! That dont mean he isnt one of the greats because he is! But the music since than isnt hitting like it used to. The perception this generations has, wont put Wayne higher than a lil baby or something.
This man is an ICON. His multiple flows, versatility, and word play, is truly unmatched! Growing up in the South Wayne was played nonstop but I grew a much deeper fan on my own. He has timeless hits what else can I say besides being a legend 💯
@i have 0 followers well then u should know every rapper has mediocre lines especially rappers that DONT STOP RAPPING. Dude doesn't stop, ever. And so ofc he's gonna have mediocre lines but he's got so much classics his lyrics are some of the best ever out of any rapper, ever. And we could argue, I'm here for ya a**
Bro this is incredible! Wayne is the goat forever and the soundtrack to my teenage years. I wish kids now could understand just how incredible he was. What a time to be alive for real! Thank you for taking this so seriously and all the hard work!
@@itsAaronSpeaking your work is greatly appreciated. These young bucks don't know shit about the og's besides pac, and biggie. And don't get it twisted they are goats. But I spoke with some like 19 to 25 year olds and they had no idea idea that cash money was even around back then They also didn't realize who juvenile or the hot boys was until I said back that azz up and that just blew my mind. lol I asked them who from your generation would you consider a poet or lyricist and they tried telling me Lil yachty and dababy. He was trying to tell me da baby has some of the best metaphors out there . And I told them are you kidding me have you ever heard of Cassidy . Now don't get it twisted dababys not awful by any means. So I put them on to some game about some real lyricist like big pun, Eminem, Rakim, multiple members of the Wu-Tang Clan, Jadakiss, I even asked are you familiar with nas and the dude says the only song I Know by Nas is Ether. Lol every gangster rap bone in my body wanted to cringe I couldn't believe he's never heard of the song rewind or shoot em up. I mean the Nigga really spits the entire song completely backwards and it makes sense. At that point I couldn't even look at them because they weren't familiar with Busta Rhymes, Twista, some dude tried telling me DMX wasn't even that great. And that's what I had to walk away before I murdered somebody LOL. And don't get it twisted I love southern music and I think juvenile is one of the best lyricists to come out of the South amongst t i and a few others in that positive message killer.mike spreads is fire. UGK Bun B is amazing, all Three 6 Mafia, frayser boy, Project Pat, lil whyte, ilove it all. .
@@murdermass6177 Man I was cringing reading this! Good stuff putting on em game though bro! They just don’t get it! A legendary stretch of years we had in the past!
Wayne is so talented and adorable. He really didn’t age even though he got older . He had so many looks over the years but still remains young in his spirit . He is a living legend 💜🙌🏼
Bruh this took me back in time . Ultimate nostalgia. Lil Wayne really laced my childhood and adulthood with the dopest music and bars I've ever heard and he's still relevant today.
Most people don’t understand how influential and innovative Wayne was unless they were around back then and could never even imagine the things he accomplished.. definitely one of the most important rappers of all time
After hearing this, all I can say is ...he always knew what he wanted from young and went for it. Didn't need anybody to motivate him, he motivated himself. He is self assured and brave. Those are qualities to emulate.
the difference between wayne and all the rappers he surpassed is that he was so self aware about what he wanted to become and how he wanted the world to see him as a rapper. other rappers just wanted the advance, the lambo and a mansion ( and 95 percent of these other rappers fumbled the bag and their careers are basically casper the friendly ghost)
This video makes remember how much tv used to follow celebrities. I haven't watched tv seriously in about 2 years and its so nostalgic seeing these interviews from channels that probably dont even exist anymore. Before the internet really popped off this was the only way to see how your favorite singers lived.
@@itsAaronSpeaking my sister says mtv cribs was like Instagram live. Nowadays you have interviews on RU-vid hosted by various channels like no jumper and mass appeal. I'm very young, born 2002 but I still remember a brief window of time when you saw music videos on TV channels like spike and VH1. Theyre still around but it's not common. The 2000s was a wierd time for celebrity culture.
His output from 2004-2008 is unrivaled. Edit: I made this comment about 15-20 mins into the video. Now it’s about 5 mins from ending and just wanted to say Phenomenal job my guy, great video can’t wait to watch part two!
He is the Greatest to ever do it. I don’t care what other people say. Biggest inspiration to me in music and pop culture man. I’m from New Orleans originally and moved young because of hurricane Katrina. I tell people all the time I don’t think lil Wayne realize how much of a impact he made man. He kept New Orleans on the map in my opinion. He ran the game at a time where New Orleans could have been forgotten.
Like myself wouldn’t have I known about New Orleans if it wasn’t through Wayne. He loved his city he never stopped rapping about it in music.. he real goat in hiphop 🐐
Man I'm a song writer and I didn't even realize it but he had a influence on how I write and how much songs I have. All I can say is that what this man has done may never be matched. 1 of the best to ever grace the microphone.
This man is literally the blueprint of todays rap 💯from flows, clothes , hell even the drugs niggas use now like be for real the man is arguably the most important and influential rapper ever
Late to the party but, Damn! I remember all this.. Wayne was a standout rapper LONG before he was anywhere near platinum.. one of the GOATs.. excellent documentary, my man
LIl Wayne always giving a postive attitude when he talks about his everyday life events and personal life. GodBless him and hope his talent keeps him making good music.
Im a music person but rap/hip hop never really was my thing but Lil Wayne is probably the only artist of this genre I would ever listen to period! He is so talented!
Man Wayne was damn near all I listened to at 1 time. He in my top 3 most influential rappers ever. Not just b/c of his raps, but the overall from his hair, clothes, tattooing ur whole body, lean, rappers using auto tune etc. Not that he created any of these things but he influenced the world to do it....Wayne is a Pac baby with aloooot of brothers & sisters & still today Pac got alot of grandkids, but at the sametime Wayne got a shit load of kids running the industry right now...Definitely the 1 of the goats. Pac is MJ & Wayne is Kobe. I remember when people laughed at Wayne 4 saying he was the best rapper alive at the end of Bring it Back & he made niggaz respect it. That Carter 2 is in my top 10 albums. Then he was killing all those features. I used to be so excited when di seen a new track that said "Featuring Wayne" & he killed everything he was on
Before my older brother died me and him would listen to nothing but lil Wayne. he brings nothing but some of the only good memories I have. I remember The Carter 3 being the very first album I bought in 6th grade. I’m 25 btw now
Nice. You mention every underrated Wayne mixtape and mixtape track I know of. He was certainly exceptional and unmatched during his reign. If Wayne released these tracks as singles today they would chart for sure.
Thanks for doing his era justice. During that time Wayne was the guy. All the deep cuts that weren’t really “mainstream” …you had to be there to know about em and cherish those songs
God Wayne. Please never leave us. I graduated in 07..... when his career started I started making memories lol. Man I can't wait for part 2.... then to watch it over again writing down songs for my cd imma burn for old times sake
great job! took me back. your lucky if you lived to witness lil waynes start. all his dedications etc remind me of my highschool days. since these new rappers came out its like the world got hit with the neuralyzer because nobody remembers or cares for real rap anymore and its sad.
Wayne the goat dis made my day watching dis growing Wayne show me u can rap at 14 in blow up I wanted to be like him I remember watching his live performance
This was really well done! I saw Wayne in CT for his Dedication tour and it was such a good show. He has so much energy while also remaining so humble and the way he thanked his fans, really talking to the audience and being genuine, it was amazing. It's not that I was surprised for him to be like that but he'd been top of my "must see in concert" for so long and I was finally seeing him, so it felt unreal! Also, 50 throwin shade, what a JOKE lmao
I appreciate all of the air time you gave to clips of Wayne’s music and clips. Some might call it lazy but I see it as you letting the artist speak for themself instead of trying to tie some watered-down narrative, like a lot of channels do… great documentary my man. Can’t wait to watch part two.
Something You Forget and PMW are my favorite 😩😍 and you’re so right about I feel like dying 🤣🤣 I could never get past the first 20 seconds it was too much 😬
