@@woozie_ztfo9285 False. Luke FINALLY lifting the X-Wing, Leia lightsaber and seeing younger her and luke train. Rey actually training and struggling multple times, Han Solo returning. I can keep bringing up more good points this movie earns
I believe that this line implies that there is no one definitive chosen one, but each generation has a new chosen one. Anakin was the chosen one of his generation, and Rey is the chosen one of her’s. It didn’t shit on Anakin’s legacy at all. In the end he still restored balance to the force for his generation, and now it is time for the next chosen one to rise and restore balance for her generation: Rey.
MP Imagine saying an 1000 year old prophecy refers to 30 years of balance, Heck Yoda lived 900 years and he hadn’t encountered the Chosen One before Anakin
I appreciate the inclusion of both Kanan and Ahsoka in the voices Rey hears. I really love both of those characters so it's nice that they didn't stick to Jedi who only appear in the movies.
I wish they had also included the voices of other Jedi like Ki-Adi-Mundi, Plo Koon, Kit Fisto, and Shaak Ti as well, reprised by their voice actors from Clone Wars. But I guess there was only so much that can be squeezed into that moment.
Make Believe Thing is Hayden was up for voicing Anakin in The Clone Wars but they didn’t contact him. So I’m not surprised he came back. He said he would love to do a voice role.
@@PB-rz8lz Not without training, Leia was only force sensitive. Yes, I know that she did some training, but remember, it takes more time to have a link to the force.
@@Inforgamer-1111 Pretty sure she's a force ghost as Obi wan taught Anakin how to after he died so I'm pretty sure either Luke or Anakin taught her. She did have a bit of Jedi training but I don't know if she made it to master plus you don't actually need to be a fully fledged Jedi to become a ghost *cough* Ahsoka *cough*
I agree its awesome, but i would have preffered it for ashoka, she is way more of an important character then kanan and i would have appreciated a little more dialogue from her
@HARPO ! at the end, the way the characters (any character in any story) ends death often is pathetic. But I like that. That reminds us that they're not imortals, or overpower, just people. An epic death every time that a character dies would be cliche. But simply sacrifices (that are, actually, very difficult to make) have more value.
Marcelo Zaldivar I’m curious why Ezra didn’t get a line like Kanan did either hes alive (possible) or he never became one with the force (unlikely considering the ending for rebels) or he just got snubbed
@@CalicoJackal Yeah, that's cool. Someone else did an Alec Guinness impression for Obi-Wan in Star Wars Rebels. Though it is odd that he talks in both young & old voices.
@@RoseSupreme The old Obi-Wan only says: "Rey", which is taking from a line in the original trilogy where he said "afraid," they just cut off bits of the line.
IKR, it was Epic and also a Trip with how many Jedi and their rich character arcs have come into this story and gone yet are still here always by their spirit!😭👍
"Every Jedi who ever lived lives in you" - That quote gives me chills every time I hear it. Qui-Gon Jinn was a great Jedi master. I'm grateful, that they mentioned him here. Edit: I felt that moment when my most favorite Jedi masters come in the end. Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker. May the force be with you... Always.
that moment redeemed her in my eyes the struggle was there the pain was the the anger was there everything about that moment was perfect in my honest opinion
I find this both sad and heartwarming as the Jedi that have died years ago inspire Rey to rise up and defeat Palpatine, as they see her as one of them, not the granddaughter of the man who orchestrated the death of the Jedi order.
There's actual art of this scene and the ghost of the jedi helping her rise. Seeing these Jedi help Rey is actual makes me cry because I miss these characters. One this is that I will forever love star wars and I loved this film.
I like how they included unusual characters like Luminara (don’t know how to spell her name), Adi Gallia or her cousin, and more including Ashoka and Kannan where they don’t stick to just movie characters.
While it was nice I do think that Luminara, Aayla, and Adi were added so there would be some female Jedi to speak to Rey. These characters are yes, technically in the movies, but even in Clone Wars they don't have that many lines. I always wished the producers would let the nonhuman Jedi aside from Ahsoka and Yoda be more prominent.
@@iananderson4754 Yeah, aside from Yoda, I'd wager that Plo Koon has the most lines of any alien Jedi master (in movies/shows). This was more my point about alien Jedi having more prominence. Yes, several of them get little spotlight episodes like Luminara, Kit Fisto, Aayla, Eeth Koth, Even Piell, etc. but aside from being important to the immediate narrative, their characters are never explored as well as I'd like. (Barris, Asajj, and obviously Ahsoka are better explored but I was talking main-line traditional Jedi) Plo Koon, however, I actually felt unexpectedly sad for when I watched Order 66 in RotS for the first time since finishing Clone Wars. He had a lot more time to properly endear himself to me, aside from just being a toy of a background character I used to have. tl;dr - Plo Koon is great.
I think it refers to both, after all, they’re both sides of the same coin. Kylo Ren dies and Ben solo returns, who is a skywalker by blood, while Rey rises up to become the greatest Jedi to ever live, and adopts the name “skywalker,” so really I think that “the rise of skywalker” refers to both kylo and Rey
Chris Hemsworth i don't think she's dead. i've seen many videos that say she isn't and that she was just projecting herself through the force to encourage rey
When I heard Kanan, I was just so overwhelmed and excited man as he is my favorite Jedi next to anakin. This scene was great. Wish we could’ve seen their ghosts stand with her. That would’ve been perfect.
mohammed almazro I was big mad about this because supposedly when they were filming this scene all the actors were on set in full costume and the scene was longer but that was in JJ Abrams version and Disney ended up cutting out a lot and the only used the audio for this scene
Ahsoka and Kanan being included was a dream come true for me! They, as well as Hera, are my all time favorite characters, and the fact they’re included in the last mainstream film made my heart melt in an instant! (Plus the Ghost was seen returning with the Falcon during the battle)
And now I’m crying. This scene was almost more emotional than Ben’s death for me. Hearing Yoda was what got me. Knowing that all of these jedi stand behind Rei and see her struggle and view her as one of their own. She earned her jedi rank in this scene. I started crying like 10 seconds in too.
Exactly. If anything, the skywalker family(also Ahsoka) and maybe the other force ghosts like Kenobi and Yoda(if Ben Solo met them), should’ve been encouraging Ben Solo.
All the Jedi: ooo, I just thought of something to say to Rey. Obi Wan: Rey... Anakin: Woah, wait, my turn. Luminara: The light, Rey... Mace Windu: Shut up Luminara. Yoda: Alone, never have you been. Qui Gon: So true, so... Anakin: Master Qui Gon is it really... Mace Windu: Shut up Anakin. Aayla Secura: Let the force... Ahsoka: The force guided us. Mace Windu: Shut up Ahsoka. Anakin: The force... Adi Gallia: Rise. Qui Gon: We stand behind... Ben: I'm back baby. Yoda: Rise in the force. Kanan: So true, just like... Obi Wan: Rise Qui Gon: Ri... Luke: Shut up, people recognize me and know what I'm saying. Rey, the force will be with you, always.
Obi-wan: These are your final steps Rey, Rise and take them. Anakin: Rey Ashoka: Rey Kanan: Rey Anakin: bring balance Rey, as I did. Luminara: Find the light Rey. Kanan: you are not alone Rey. Yoda: Alone, never have you been. Qui-gon: Every Jedi who ever lived, lives in you now. Anakin: The force surrounds you Rey. Aayla: let it guide you... Ashoka: as it guided us. Mace: feel the force flowing through you Rey. Kanan: let it lift you. Adi- Gallia: rise Rey Qui-gon: we stand behind Rey. Old obi-wan: Rey. Yoda: Rise in the force. Kanan: in the heart of the Jedi lies her strength. Obi-wan: Rise. Qui-gob: Rise. Luke: Rey the force will be with you, always.
I see that everyone is arguing in the comments as most Star Wars fans do for some reason. Let me help you feel better about this; 1. Yes, Anakin is still the Chosen One. He did destroy the Sith and bring balance to the force (Palpatine even had a line in this movie saying "I have died before"). But balance is never permanent. Evil will always return in some form or another. 2. Just because you did not hear a certain voice does not indicate that they are alive or dead. The fact is, they could only use a small handful of voices, because if they used every Jedi ever this movie would have been 5 hours long. 3. Yes, these are all the original actors/voice actors. From Sam Jackson and Hayden Christensen, to Alec Guiness and Freddie Prinze Jr. And they got Alec in there by finding him saying the word "afraid" and cutting it down to "rai" which sounds like "Rey" 4. There are 2 parts to the force, as Qui Gon told us; the living force and the cosmic force. At this moment we know of 5 characters who could become ghosts; Qui Gon, Obi Wan, Yoda, Anakin and Luke. They trained to use the living force to physically show up. The others go to the cosmic force when they die. That is why we cannot see them but only hear them. Because the rest of them cannot become force ghosts. But they are still one with the force.
joethahobo, thank you, I’m seeing people say things like “Disney made anakin die for nothing” and it’s like balance is never a permanent thing, he brought balance it just never lasts forever
@@andrewj.730 Yeah, she does. But I said at this moment the video covers. Leia dies when Ben dies and becomes a ghost shortly after. Just not during this scene.
Never saw the film, but this scene gives me goosebumps. Makes me miss the days on my brother, cousin, and I pretending to be jedi fighting in the Clone Wars.
This is an awesome scene and I'm so happy they included Kanan and gave him one of the best lines. He truly was an amazing jedi. Rebels is slept on. I also kind of find it hilarious that after this movie came out, Filoni insists Ahsoka is still alive. I love her so I'm not complaining.
When they filmed this all the actors were on set in full costume specifically for this scene but they ended up making this scene shorter and only using the audio
Did that include Ahsoka and Kanan, because that makes me question if it was realistic CGI versions of them, random people in makeup or if they brought in Rosario Dawson with the promise she’d get to expand the role in later projects and they brought in Freddie Prince Jr
Dang! I just watched all 9 movies this week, and seeing Qui-Gon, Windu, and even Anakin come back to say these lines as, 1, a small reunion of the past movies, and also 2, help Rey rise... It just lightened me up so much!
Ashoka should have gotten a longer line in my opinion as she is one of the most loved Star Wars characters ever. Also this hit me hard because I never really thought about Ashoka being dead but this scene confirms it 😭
@@gibraillagneau1302 Younglings after seeing Rey heal a Space Snake or Rey Healing Kylo, or Ben healing Rey: You killed all of us just to save your Stupid Wife, That's Against the Jedi Code! Other Youngling: You said it pal.
hearing anakin quigon and obi wan speak to her is making me so emotional, im glad hayden christensen came back for it, i honestly didnt expect it. im also so happy ahsoka and kanaan appeared too, totally unexpected as they dont appear in the main saga, but fully appreciated!
I just realized in TFA, Obi Wan is talking in the background when Rey discovers Anakin’s/Luke’s lightsaber. He says “These are your first steps, Rey.” now in TROS, he does say “These are your final steps, Rey.” in the final act of the movie. Pretty cool when you think about it.
00:17 Master Luminara!! Surprised they got the voice actress from The Clone Wars just for six words because she hasn't had a speaking part since season 2 of TCW. Same with rounding up the voices of Jedi Aayla Secura + Adi Gallia.
I saw these actors that were going to be in this movie before this movie came out - saw on a website called IMDb, and the actors played the same characters as before.
This is so helpful for me I'm so shit at distinguishing voices. I was just rewatching tros like I have no clue who is saying what. I figured out Anakin from what he said. And I recognised kanan's voice. And I just fully missed Yoda's bit but I would've got that. And I figured Luke was the last one but it didn't sound like him to me. I knew ahsoka was in there but I couldn't distinguish her voice and I never even knew mace or qui gon or luminara were in there
qui gon hits hard because if you really think about it he started all, he trained obi wan, obi wan trained anakin and luke , so he is a legendary jedi and i think he is very underated
The eldest person that spoke there was Qui Gon-Jinn, and to put in perspective how long we’ve watched this story, in universe, Qui Gon passed away in a fight with Darth Maul 66 years ago! That’s like from here in 2022, talking to someone that died in 1956!
"Alone never have you been" would make a great tattoo quote. And "bring back the balance as I once did" sounds like something you can write in a card and give to your kids.
I loved this scene. It made me cry. I grew up watching starwars and I will die watching it. It is something yo cherish and behold it's an amazing thing really it brings people together it brings excitement, happiness and joy. Star Wars is amazing! It's sad to see these amazing characters finally be laid to some wha if a rest after all these years but alas they need room for the newbies. Hopefully down the line I can share the star wars experience with my kids! May the force be with you, always
