While African Americans are more likely to live in poverty than any other ethnic group, America is also home to the biggest group of wealthy, highly successful black people in the world. Now, 1 in 50 African American families are millionaires, forming part of a new ‘black elite’.
Property developer Don Peebles is one of the richest and most powerful businessmen in America. He’s been nicknamed the “Black Trump” and has estimated net worth of 700 million dollars.
In Georgia, Atlanta this black bourgeoisie has seized power. In Texas, Psyche Terry and her husband have created a cosmetic empire and are invited to every social event in Dallas. At the same time, the “buy black” movement encourages community business and even has its own black Amazon.
This documentary was produced by TV Presse and directed by Agathe Soleranski. It was first released in 2020.

that last bit with candace owens makes me realize some people really are unaware. Politicians do not care of any poor person's pain. i think its important that the black community stick together and supports them as well as that more black people get rich and in the upperclass. Because there is the racism enormously and you only can fight racism through a contact. But i think the comparison between america first and black first is a bit fatal because we are talking here about ethnic groups within a country. If you are starting to go up in the upperclass but then in the same time distancing from white people you 1. do the same and discriminate white people and 2. you support the racism of the white people against you . But all in all great documentary with well explained viewpoints. I can understand everyone here and im glad that the african americans become richer

Due to elitism and classism and their children racism, sexism, and xenophobia, many groups of people have been oppressed and have had accomplishments downplayed. Human societies since the dawn of time have categorized people according to socially constructed hierarchies to control power. That being said, what is your suggestion to dissamble these institutions and truly level the playing field? I doubt any one choosing pride in oneself despite other groups knocking one for said pride is the issue.

Its wonderful to see Americans who work hard and get what they deserve. The narrator seemed threatened as the show when on. Said micro aggressions about black Chinese that didn't seem appropriate or warranted. The last comment at the credits about black elites taking over. Im not sure why he said that what they are supposed to be taking over. Other than that I enjoyed the video.
@taomenshuifilmstudio34
@taomenshuifilmstudio34 8 месяцев назад
The Black Chinese comment was actually a great question that was posed, they asked simply were the tooth brush was made, and he said China, so that in itself shows that it was not a product that was made by Black Folks... A black owned company does not have to have all of it's products sourced by a Black manufacturer ... It would be impossible to have everything made by us, we don't have all the resources as yet to pull that off , Globally....... And we limit ourselves by only saying we only sell with Black folks.....Being a Black Company I believe is enough , employing Black Folks, and selling to the Global Market is Success .....Just my take on the situation....

Are they sinophobic?
@Ndasuunye
@Ndasuunye Год назад
not sinophobic but there has been a growing awareness of how badly asian american businesses treat their black customers, clients etc. They would come in, set up shop in a low income predominately black neighborhood, talk smack about their customers while simultaneously profitting and ASAP, move their homes to a non-black community and take their cashflow with them. Now that we have technology, these asian american businesses get caught on camera doing their whether physical or verbal abuse on predominately black customers and it constantly leaves a bad taste in people's mouth. The hair and nail business is especially brutal on both the customer and business side. For example, i known many a black hair business owners who've had a very hard time getting the same cheap deals that fellow koreans, chinese and even japanese would get. Or worse, not get served by these suppliers at all making work arounds incredibly expensive and taxing. It's also why some start up black businesses can be so expensive. Anyone who has hustled knows that everyone wants a cheap deal but sometimes when you can't get materials for cheap, the cost to stay afloat has to be passed onto the consumer. It's very grimy once you start working in the business world.
@chronicfatiguehermithiker3022
People bow to trends. If people are valued and honored by Society, trend-minded people honors them; if society mistreat and dishonors people, trend-minded people see them as trash. Poverty and wrecked families create people who tend to act trashy, reinforcing the negative image. Being sinophobic is not going to change any of that, but blacks ignoring everyone and focusing on their own mental care and family healing might eventually help. Successful business people tend to be ruthless, nasty and don’t care (capitalists), normal people must choose businesses where they can thrive without acting greedy and nasty to others. If a business disrespects you, stop supporting them; complaining to a capitalist will cause them to laugh in your face, they don’t care, they just want your money.

You're painting a broad brush that Americans don't see your ethnicity as being successful and wealthy that's foolish. And it's offensive. You know more power to anyone who can make a lot of money not everyone could do that. But don't put me in a box. I base what I feel about somebody by their conduct and behavior. How they treat their neighbor their community and all people around them. I'm not so much embracing the term slavery as much as I would the term servant. Any of us who work for a living a paycheck work for someone else is a servant. And who was the most humble servant of all you ask. I believe Jesus the Christ.👑 ACTS 17:,26 KJV BIBLE 🕊️💕

Okay where are the factories that are producing all these products and clothing? I would like to research that... Meet the employees that are producing and making these products for you. And I'd like to know the wages that you are paying the employees to make your products. I want to know if the employees are living good. I have resources who frequent Africa who can answer that question for me if you know resources are coming from Africa to China to make your products what are you doing for Africa? You know right now there is a community in Africa all they want are mattresses that are in case so they don't have to sleep on the ground they want clean water to drink so they don't get cholera they're asking for mosquito nets so because they're contracting malaria children are dying of this. Simple things like a mattress a mosquito net clean water are you providing that to them with all your wealth since you care so much!!!! Oh I did my research Africa does not export to China the products that China is producing for you unless you're talking diamonds? Why don't you start production here in the USA and hire United States citizens to produce your products? SMH To me this is just all flash and cash. Carry on good luck hope you become all millionaires billionaires zillionaires!
@Ndasuunye
@Ndasuunye Год назад
realistically, for a small budget startup, producing in the USA requires too much money or an buttload of fans before you start selling so they would be willing to pay the higher price due to producing on American soil. it'sfar cheaper to export labor than to create in house.

The illusion of the black elite/bourgeoisie.
@chronicfatiguehermithiker3022
Hard to watch because I’m not materialistic. Wealthy people who enjoy their wealth and nothing else but try to get more seem useless and meaningless. The hunger to look like and be like rich people comes off pathetic especially since rich people tend to seem empty and pathetic. Rich people who have an interest in something real and beneficial to the world, they make sense. But the showiness looks sad, so rich people tend to look sad. This wasn’t interesting enough to watch.

Jealousy is a disease get better soon 👍
@chronicfatiguehermithiker3022
@@danielcunningham6727 Jealousy is wanting what they have. I want everyone to be rich enough to have what they want, no one need more than that. People who have more, if they used it in meaningful, beneficial ways would be good and interesting, like how Elon musk uses his wealth to build his dreams, that’s interesting and exciting to watch. Personally I want enough to get what I want, I don’t want more than that because then it gets boring. Since I don’t like a lot of stuff (I’m not a materialistic person), I don’t need much wealth to get what I want therefore I don’t want what they have. Materialism is for showing off, I’m a hermit, I don’t feel the need to show off.

Not really. You don't understand the Black ECONOMIC plight. The current economic condition of the Black American community is in critical condition that is challenged by poverty, financial insolvency, low wage growth/wage stagnation, economic immobility, overreliance on social programs, and other forms of economic injustices. It has been noted that Black America has a $1.5 trillion in consumer buying power on an annual basis. But Black America retain a mere 2% ($30 billion) of its annual buying power in the community. Given that Black America is the least wealthy community in America, they must to revisit group economics immediately for their economic empowerment. Black consumers patronizing great black-owned businesses is the first step.

nathan doing the most but the short answer is, asian american businesses treat the black people they serve like crap and make it hard for emerging black businesses in hair and nail industries to get afloat due to numerous issues, both social and financial. Asians don't help their case by constantly getting caught on camera now. Gotta love technology.

Only when it comes from a black person. Its perfectly okay for asians, white, jews to do business with each other but as soon as a black woman decides to prefer a black business, its a problem.
