Of course it matters. It's a word, in a language, and it has a correct pronounciation. It matters enough to Shin Fukae, a Japanese man, for him to take the time to correct a common American mispronounciation of a Japanese word. Making a mistake is human. Being willfully ignorant matters too Aquavert, particularly when it's in reference to another culture and their language. It's not a good look.
