A review of all the armed conflicts around the world in 2023. We anaylze how the wars are connected from Russia's War in Ukraine to Israel's battle against their enemies. I want to take a look at how the weapon systems were deployed in different wars. We examine the geopolitics of each conflict and see where it might be headed in the new year of 2024.
I’ve consolidated all the information you need to know about the conflicts and wars happening around the world in 2023. For the first time in 6 years the world has more armed conflict than the year prior and we’ll see many of them are interconnected in ways you might not expect.
Written by: Chris Cappy & Patrick Griffin
Edited by: Michael Michaelides
In 2011 What started as protests against President Assad’s regime quickly exploded into a full on war between the Syrian government forces and rebel groups. The Syrian government was backed by Russia and Iran with military support. While the rebels were backed by the United States and their allies.
The reason for these people fleeing Haiti is because of recent developments here. In 2021 a group of armed men from a gang took out the president. Following that the country collapsed into chaos. Basic government functions shut down and widespread gang violence rose. Over this past year in 2023 gang violence sored by 80% in their capital city where gangs control 60% of the territory.
Task & Purpose is a military news and culture oriented channel. We want to foster discussion about the defense industry.

Slap the LIKE button if you want to see more rundowns like this! Happy New Year Spare Parts Army. 2023 saw a rise in armed conflict but that doesn't mean the trend cannot be reversed. In this episode I tried to take a look at all the different hot spots around the world to highlight things that I thought would be of most value and interest to you. This format also gives us a chance to talk about some of the lesser known conflicts that do not get as much attention or that we didn't have the time to touch on in 2023. instagram.com/cappyarmy twitter.com/Cappyarmy EDIT: If you disagree with any of my thoughts on these controversial conflicts please feel free to let me know. I do pay close attention to your feedback and it helps me improve.

It’s waaaay more fun to theorize about war and talk about cool weapons then actually seeing those weapons be used in war. In the past years Task and Purpose was fun to watch but now as war is beginning to break out it’s becoming a painful but necessary reminder of just how awful conflict is.

@@kennyhudson9201 I'm not certain that's true everywhere, cartels hold a lot of power through grey zone operations and intangibles. Ecuador had nearly rid itself of cartels, now they are coming back because they operate in nearby countries and Ecuador's hard-fought relative stability made it a soft target. El Salvador is likewise currently doing one of the most austere crackdowns it has ever done, but it still takes much longer than "a week." If the United States can't magically solve domestic organized crime despite essentially infinite funds one or two votes away and strong anti-corruption measures, how would far more unstable countries ever manage it, no matter how victimized the people are? Leaders pushing against cartels alone just make themselves a target, it has to be a collective effort.

3:50 There are a few problems with the analysis of the Mexican situation. Whilst there was a peak of migrants across the border - the number of Mexican Nationals going across the border is at an all time low. The "military doing police work" problem is also a bit more complex. The problem is that a lot of local police forces got so corrupt that the Military had to replace the local police force e.g. Acapulco. A lot of the problem is, unfortunately, the fact that the US refuses to get its house in order so there is a constant flow of money and guns to the cartels from the US. So, yes, the US should be taking action - but that action needs to be against the flow of guns and money to the cartels.

Everything we're seeing are echoes of WW1. But conflict has been far more common in the past. War just became faster, deadlier and costlier so we tend to avoid bombing eachother as much these days. Was has gone digital. Propaganda and hacking have the potential of doing much more damage than bombs and guns. If you watch this channel, I assume you know war these days is a lot more about logistics and industry than fighting. So warfare now aims to cripple the first two to make the third inviable so hostile can just roll in and take over. I would say that we're not facing relativelly more peaceful times. War just went underground. In preparation for something big.

True. Wonderful summary on global conflict. The only way we can bring peace is to educate ourselves and find a logical solution for peace. That means most people who protest for Free Palestine in the streets of London, New York and Istanbul are not able even to idenfify Palestine and Israel on the world map. Most Iranians are uneducated and confused, not able to understand how to remove their own brutal govenment. Most Africans wrongly blamed colonial powers for the plight of their poverty and state corruption, while they have been independent for decades or century. Most people believe UN can contribute to global peace, which is a fiction. Most Yemeni, Somalians, Lebanese and Palestinians blame America for their economic disaster, which is not true. Most people in the Middle East and Africa need EDUCATION and HONESTY. Thank you for educating people.

Been on the same path looking into world conflicts as we tend to only see the media worthy ones but the conflicts that affect us are further abroad and wide spread than what we see on the daily news. The narrative direct by the powers that be don't tell the whole truth. You touched on the main ones but there are more nefarious reasons and forces at work in much of the conflicts. I could care less whether West Papua decides to stay loyal to Indonesia or to become an independent country on their own. If they decide to stay loyal, then it's a win for Indonesia. And if they decide to separate themselves as an independent country, then Indonesia can focus rebuilding infrastructures on somewhere else. West Papua would become a bad investment and Indonesia can finally allocate their money to build the rest of other provinces. In this scenario, Indonesia still wins regardless. The independence of East Timor didn't really disturb Indonesia a bit.

I'm quite worried of what Content you are consuming to get to that conclusion. It can be argued that I'm not Indonesian (Chinese), but I'm born in Indonesia and grew up in Indonesia and i hate this country (cause of socioal norms and corruption) and at the same time I don't want it to die and suffer, I want it to become better and most of the native Papuan people are like that (from my experience).
