I struggled with knee pain for a while, raised my saddle a little and all was good. Not saying it'll be as easy for you, as you do a lot more mileage than I do. Good luck, and I hope it all works out 👍
Sorry to hear about the knee, you were going well as you passed me in the early stages of Saturday. I've been nursing my knee and slowly increasing distance, 800km over the weekend and it held out. My issue is/was IT band (apparently a classic cycling injury)it failed on the Festive 500, took all of January off the bike. Anyway if you are in the south west i can recommend a very good physio. Good luck getting it sorted.
Thanks Andy. IT band is a known issue for cyclists, and something I've had issues with in the past. I've been to a physio near me, and hopefully it's helped.
I’ve had some knee issues in the past and the issue has never actually been my knee, it has invariably been some tightness on the muscles surrounding it (and up into my back). Apparently tightness can cause the kneecap to track slightly off true, which causes the pain. Assuming your bike fit is sorted, get to a physio with experience of cycling related issues. Good luck sorting your 600.
You might actually be right! Knee pain was never an issue for me, until I bought a new town bike. I hardly do any miles on it compared to the road bike, yet started getting pain in my right knee. Took a while for me to realise the slack seat post angle was putting me too far back behind the pedals. I had to shove the saddle as far forward as it would go, which looks weird, but now no knee pain.
