But just imagine you were in a shopping mall and all of the stores had their own agents soliciting to every person walking by, at once “do you want to come in and shop”. It will annoy customers. Therefore you got to do your part. Make an appealing sign to entice customers/donors to itneract with you. Be at the register (stand) waiting for customers to ask questions while not being afk. Then people will donate.
