The first time he became the bad guy I remember wanting to hate him so bad but I had no choice but to love him😂. He's too good at entertaining and his tough comedy has always been final boss level.

Rock didn't use to "shoot", even in his prime, that's what makes him so special compared to likes of Cena or punk who constantly needs to break kayfabe & shoot to make their promo good. Rock does almost all of his promos staying within kayfabe realm & still makes it damn entertaining. Also expecting a 50+ yrs old Rock to maintain his promo skill as it was during his prime after many yrs away from the ring is ridiculous ask, even then he showed he is on par with anyone in today's wrestling on the mic during his final boss run & was damn entertaining. Look at the likes of Austin, they can barely cut a promo whenever they come back in last 10-15 yrs.
