Shaun was always an act. A ooh look at me act. Bret was always just himself, and technically, Bret was the best there is, was, and will be. I like Shaun because he was part of the coolest group there ever was, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Triple H, Shaun, 123 Kid. But as far as who was a better wrestler, I pick Bret over shaun
@@PLUX4surprising, as he also played a main role (together with Vince McMahon and the officiating referee Earl Hebner (even his son Brian also got implicated in this matter)) in screwing Bret Hart in the Montreal screw job, which the Canadian fans are against till this day!
@@nightwingjonahU mean Chad Frost hehe, not because he's not a fan though but is more looking our for his own spot.Rock being incredibly gifted while being part of the wrestling family which has the best working relationship with the mcmahon's was guaranteed to be pushed to the top and HBK was a notorious political player back then
@@DistrictraisedI agree, different styles but the raw energy was there. The crowd felt it and everyone was waiting in anticipation to what he was going to do next. The best era in wrestling that will never be matched.
The fact that The Rock could’ve been by himself and still would’ve gotten this segment over is obvious! The fact that HBK is right by his side literally dying laughing at (sorry Brett) The Hitman’s catchphrase (along with Ric, Mach, and Hogan) makes this one of Rock and HBK best promos ever because of the trolling and real time reactions! Pure Gold
I thought I heard something about Michaels disrespecting Rock's mom or grandma or something to that affect, but I could be thinking of someone else. Shawn got away with a lot back in those days, but fucking with the Fatu family could be bad for your career and your health.
When he did the "I am the best there is the best- no that ain't it. That's for damn sure aint it." Shawn Michael's reaction was priceless. He damn near lost it with that one. 😂😂
@@Lee-rt6txDefinitely not. You could say Austin’s run was shorter than it could’ve been because of injuries. If anyone called Rock the GOAT nobody should feasibly bat an eyelash. Rock, Austin, and Hogan are the holy trinity of 3 most important wrestlers in the history of the business.
This is one of the maim reasons why there hasnt been anything close to being as good as that Attitude Era... NOBODY sounds as good on the mic as those guys did then
The rock with the most creative shit, talking and wrestler history in my personal opinion. He just come off with so much crazy silly stuff on the top of his head.
I am sure most were written just like movies and TV. But he improvises well and on the spot. I modeled professionally for 10 years know a lot of directors, writers, etc, and have been around the industry for over 15 years. You can tell when someone is off-script and improvising. But yes, McMahon is a genius and Russo is an incredible writer....
Even with someone pointing a lazer across his face the rock was unfazed and still delivered one of the most hilarious segments especially with hbk's reactions which made it even funnier.😂😂😂
Mann, I remember having this downloaded on my windows 95 computer. "The Rock Forgot His Line" file. This used to crack me up as a kid all the damn time! This is the first time actually seeing the video.
And after 20+ years later it's still the most electrifying line in sports entertainment and The Rock is still the most electrifying man on sports entertainment.
God if they could have just had one HBK Vs. The Rock match during the attitude era, I could lay in rest and say I possibly have witnessed every dream match in my history of pro wrestling fandom. The promos of late 90s Shawn Michaels vs the late 90s Rock would be iconic. Shawn Michael's and Bret Hart's real life feud was one of the most real life fascinating pro wrestling stories of all time, which makes Shawn's real life reaction so memorable to this day during this promo. Shawn Michaels Vs. The Rock would have been a dream match for years to come for many years after, but now it feels just too late. I think Shawn Michaels and The Rock could probably still have a great match and promos. You'd have to see their lifetime of a build to their whole story to be the one last dream match from the attitude era that never happened.
@@T.Gizzle89People who are very successful often become jealous of a new rising star. They feel like their spot could be in jeopardy. Idk if it was confirmed or not but the rumor is that Shawn and others was secretly trying to ruin The Rock’s push. There’s a rumor that he was saying disrespectful things about The Rock’s grandmother. It is definitely possible that HBK was a jealous hater. He made a career of being one. I don’t know how you can’t see that being the case. Shawn wasn’t the only one either. I heard that Triple H, Billy Gunn, Road Dogg and others ostracized him backstage. I believe they all learned to coexist and even apologized to him. That behavior is very common unfortunately. Nicki Minaj is another great example of a successful person being a nasty hater.
And to think HBK couldn't stand the rock and tried to bury him to the point where he had to apologize to him when he returned due to sabotaging his IC run
Yes he did. The Great One said he wanted to work with Shawn & Rey Mysterio when he inducted his father into the HOF. Not working with Shawn has always bothered The Rock.
@@whoisbrandonfoyI think u need to Brush up on your Facts! Read up on it!! The Rock didn't what do a storyline with Shawn Michaels because how Shawn disrespected the rock's grandmother. Y do u think they never wrestle each other, or even had a tag team with or against each other? And damn sure never bothered him!
