I agree, rock is an amazing man with a huge heart and he suprises her and what an amazing thing to meet him wow. He gave her a brand new mustang, i bet she's gonna have a heart attack , she had an amazinh day. Thank you for serving our country, and don't blame yourself and let the guilt eat you up, it wasen't your fault at all. You deserve the best, God bless you Rock and the lady who served our country your amazing.
As a marine corps veteran, this choked me up a little. She sacrificed alot and she is still humble and thinking about her soldiers. Real hero. God bless her 🙏
Spot the moment Dwayne went from putting on his expected "on-screen" persona to becoming honestly choked up with emotion when she asks ..."why?" Love these 2:)
yeah, but she didnt even give the name of the soldier that was lost. cant even honor the dead soldier correctly because she was so starstruck, and the editors and producers didnt give a f*** either.
Brother.. I'm a vet now.. I know how it feel the trauma that when. Ur vehicle get hit by a IED.. Shit true story bro.. My vehicle got hit by a IED too everyone in that vehicle die but me.. What the fuck up. Part its.. I lost my memory from that.. I woke up in germany.. I remember how the hell i got there.. Later on i found out i was the only one survive.. Fuck the guilt its big time bro.. Shit there are 2x i wanna put a bullet in my head.. Real shit bro honolulu police dept save my ass 2x.. Both time the police Sgt they are pior military too.. So they got me the help that i needed... To recover.. Still there are many time that i cant sleep. Sometime i dont sleep for 1week maybe 2 weeks at a time. ..
i myself am a Veteran (US Army Infantryman), so i thank you guys for your service. cant imagine what you guys went through since i never got the chance to deploy. siezure happened 6 months before i was supposed to deploy with my unit. not being able to finish my enlistment on my own terms, and getting mail saying i'm a Retiree when i was 29 years old.....that really messed with my head, had a big drop in my self-confidence. cant deny that even today, it still kinda messes with me a little off & on.
As a veteran myself, I can relate to what she’s been through and for her to be that humble and undeserving, to me, is what serving is all about. Much respect to both of them✊🏽
My grandfather served in the army and did two beach landings in Japan. He had two purple heart. He felt the same she did about them. From the bottom of my heart. Thank you for your service.
I'm sure your grandfather served with honor but dear we never did a beach landing in Japan. Two atomic bombs allowed us to avoid having to do that. Unless you mean the Japanese held Island of Okinawa.
leonard michael mark randrup I would disagree from a veterans perspective, we don’t come back looking for handouts, we served our country with pride and we just want to return to society....she is the exemplary profile of what a vet should strive to be everyday
@@irish_soldier1248 I think it's not about just giving it to them vets come out of the military and alot of them end up homeless and it rlly breaks my heart because to see a person that protected us gave up most their life to protect ppl that dont even care for them when they come out of serving us it's sad, it's not about handouts its about treating our vets like the heroes they are and not random ppl, I wanna be a navy seal when I grow up and ik their is no easy time during service from boot camp(I've seen boot camp for almost all the branches) to retirement u never know what can happen u join and grow as a person, I thank you and everyone else that has served our country and active duty members. I would love to do what the rock just did for her, what the rock did is not is not something u brag about and he will never do this, he was genuinely glad to do this and wanted to and she deserves more than what she got the friends that die in your arms in the field it hurts ik it does. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVIVE AND ALL VETS FOR THEIR SERVICE AND ACTIVE DUTY MEMBER KNOW THAT WE LOVE YALL AND THANK YALL FOR BEING OUR REAL HEROES
"Really, why?" For someone who's served the country she deserves every bit of that but she is brought to tears talking about her soldier passing. Bless your heart ♥️😭
This brave woman obviously has a lot of survivor's guilt. I pray she has been able to see how much people love her and respect what she's gone through and that she DOES deserve these nice things.
*a woman that does not ask for anything, deserves everything* Edit : i see a lotta people saying "also men" ofc also men, I'm not being specific the only reason why i said a woman is because this video is about a woman, I felt for her and i made this comment about women like her.
You can CLEARLY see the moment he goes from being that public figure, actor etc to just 100% real and almost thrown off. I think she’s the first person I’ve ever heard ask “why?” when getting gifts like this.
Survival guilt is a horribly debilitating aspect of PTSD. Dwayne's off the cuff comeback question asking her if "her soldier" would enjoy seeing her rolling in that ride was the height of empathetic therapy and counseling in one short sentence. It reinforces that she IS worthy to still be alive and that she DOES deserve to enjoy her life free of guilt.
Indeed she does Man INDEED SHE DOES! When she said my Solider does I don't to me that said she does. Don't ever say you don't we al l do as the sign says All GAVE SOME but SOME GAVE ALL
Mad respect for veterans and current women and men serving this country. Y’all deserve every blessing that comes your way AND more. Because of you you this is “land of the free, home of the brave “
What an amazing Veteran this young lady is. I have never seen such selflessness, dedication and devotion in my life. She is the epitome of a true warrior. God bless you my blessed soldier.
She didn't want the purple heart, she didn't want the car, she has my utmost respect all who serve have it and we will not forget your sacrifice, much luv from the uk.
Hello greetings from Keanu Reeves thanks for the beautiful comments you can see me on my private Hangout let's talk about life. Keanureeveswick6402@gmail.com
100%. Wish I had more to give to do something like this, but all i have to offer is my thanks and all my respect to all defence agencies for al they do for us all.
Dwayne - To see how you treat my brothers and sisters in arms is extremely heartwarming. Those of us who served, especially in combat operations have a completely altered perspective on life. When life and death are the only things that matter to you….and you see just how easily a life can end, not much importance is placed in rewards and recognition. But it is so nice to see situations like these. And you are a great guy to do such nice things. I am a 24 year Army combat vet that was fortunate enough to not suffer life altering physical injuries. But many of those I served with were not as lucky. And I’d do anything I can to help any of them in anyway. Keep doing what you are doing!
To all vets reading these comments. You deserve this and more forever. While some of you do have nightmares and trauma, remember that you are loved and needed on this planet, rise up soldier. To those who did lose someone rise up and live for that special brother or sister who can't. Love. Respect and most importantly God loves you. Live with HONOR.
ABSOLUTE honor, appreciation, and respect for her. She and her brothers and sisters in the military are warriors. As was said before, “I don’t deserve this.” is EXACTLY why she does.
Ive seen a lot of videos of people getting stuff like this and their reactions never seemed real it seemed fake. Hers felt so real. Just the raw emotion from her hit hard. She definitely deserves this
As an Australian that serverd in Iraq next to predominantly US, UK and NZ service men and women, I say thank you for being there along side of us, you had our backs and we had yours, We are family foreve. Everytime I take a drink the first mouthful is dedicated to those that we lost, your loss is our loss too. We will carry them with us always..... LEST WE FORGET.
Lest we forget. But we shall never forget those brave soldiers who gave their body, mind and soul for their country. Those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in service of those who could not help themselves. Some heroes may have saved a life based on impulses, but soldiers save lives knowing that it most likely will result in their death. They are the true heroes, and no one should ever say otherwise.
I'm not a soldier, but have saved a life and understand the confusion and humbling she experienced. With that history of me removed, Thank you! to all the soldiers that fight for their brothers and sisters despite the situation. She's the epitome of a soldier and can move on knowing she truly gave all in her past.
Thank you Marlene. This is so awesome. I am sure someone at the end of their rope will see this and that their is hope kindness and humanity. Through you and your fallen soldier lives will be saved
I always feel so awkward when I approach a vet and say thank you because I have no clue what sacrifice they or their family went through. Any veteran watching this some of us do care and we do appreciate it. Thank you Marlene.
I'm in the same position, but I know they're volunteering to put their life on the line for me so I don't have to know the particulars to see a man or woman in uniform and say thank you.
As a vet, i will tell you that you should never feel awkward doing that, it honestly means the world to us when someone takes the time out of their day to come up to us to just tell us thank you.
This made me cry because the humility she demonstrated here with Dwayne was just off the charts. She is a true patriot and a hero......🇺🇸 God Bless her, her comrades and Dwayne for making this happen. He's a really great guy.....🥂 KB
Marlene, you deserve every bit of it. I know you, I know your heart. I am proud of you, the strides you have taken and am honored to call you a friend.
My friend who served in the Army suffered a great deal when she got out mentally. She was a hard worker, a great mom an awesome friend and just a wonderful person. She lost her battle with depression after several failed attempts leaving her young girls without a mom. Those who serve deserve so much more than we give them.
I'm 72 in Mlssouri Ozarks. I enjoyed this so much. She deserves this. Thank you Rock for making this possible and doing it!I too appreciate our men and women who have and r serving.Thank you to them and to Ford. God bless you all! 🙏😀👍
As a veteran, I completely understand her reaction. Those of us that are here, always remember those that weren't so lucky. Never far from our thoughts. Exemplo Ducemus.
Funnily....I instantly understood where she was coming from, she nearly said no to the car. A REALITY check for the Rock and others about Humilty and soldiers who just want their buddies to be not dead. It's a beautiful gift for a really cool chick, hope she has a Service dog as well.
I cried at the realization of the emotions on her face; the humility and memory she wanted to honor of her soldier. You could tell Dwayne was not expecting that reaction.
But she still accepted it anyway. A service dog... give me a break. I'm a veteran and never in the history of this country has an entire generation of military personnel been so over praised. I've never seen so much self pity in my life, and yet they've gotten every perk ever imagined.
Jake 19 I agree with you Jake. I know it's not popular but after the draft ended people enlisted for various reasons that aren't altruistic: a job, training, benefits, they like killing people...etc. many times it is a very difficult job (or super easy depending). many pat themselves on the back and fish to be thanked for their service.
As a veteran who have lost friends I feel her pain on a personal level. I agree with all of her feelings of loosing a friend it hurts me on a personal level. I cried so hard watching this video. The work she does is unexplainable, she’s a real hero. I wish nothing but the best for her.
I know this is old but I love how humble she is but I'm also so sad that her grief won't let her enjoy her achievements. I hope she is doing well 5 years later.
The immense pain in her voice when she said her soldier did just shows what kind of person she is, you do deserve it, thank you for what you've done and continue to do, God bless!
It’s called survivor’s guilt. “Why did I make it when others did not”. They feel unworthy of the sacrifice, hence her prevalent opinion that she doesn’t deserve anything. She’s got a lot of PTSD and she’s doing her best to deal with it by giving back in any way she can. She’s trying her best to make her fellow soldiers sacrifice mean something. God bless her and god speed. May she always have the strength to continue with her endeavors.
The Rock has the biggest heart of all actors. She deserves it and so do many other soldiers, sailors and airmen who serve...I’m a vet of 20 yrs and proud to have served
All soldiers deserve this and more, there is no price or words to say for the sacrifices they make, Honour them all, for every one of them alive and fallen, i salute you all and thank you, peace to the world, please, no more wars....
You can't bring your soldier back but he still lives through you. Each time you do something for a fellow service man, woman, or family and you are thanked he then lives on in your memories. Congratulations on this award, rest in peace dear soldier, you are not forgotten and thank you!
She's so honourable.. she feels guilty receiving it because her mates lost they're life in battle, she feels its not fair and she understands... awesome vid.. not sure who the 75 disliking douchebags are...
Probably the same douchebags down here in the comments who think they're intelligent, talking about the evil military, soldiers are just murderers etc. etc.
As a Veteran that loss brothers overseas. Her response why is something that hit home. But the Rock response you deserve that and more. She does. Thank you for your service 🇺🇸
Amazing woman. Soldiers/veterans should NEVER struggle after serving. They volunteer to put their lives on the line for our country. They deserve all they can get from the government. WE, the people
If she seeks the help she deserves she will eventually cope. It does take awhile and sometimes even if it’s just for brief spurts of time it’s a lot better then the everyday guilty feeling.
Yes you do deserve it. You are a wonderful example of dedication and sacrifice. This brought tears to my eyes. God bless you And all that you do. You’ve sacrificed so much for us and our country
This is one of many reasons why Dwayne Johnson deserves to be a celeb not fake and pretentious a real decent human being a true icon to show us all how to treat each other
She has put her life for everyone else to be safe. Regardless of their religion or colour. America can sleep easier knowing there are people willing to fight to protect our lives and our future generations. Total respect.
This is an incredible moment for an incredible, humble combat veteran soldier, she deserves all the praise and honours bestowed on her. It’s fitting that “the Rock” who she’s a big fan off, does the honours, glad this was all 🎥 on film 🎞 when she look back on this moment, she’ll love it more. 🙏 🏴
Marlene seems like such a genuine, humble, and selfless person. She truly does deserve every good thing she gets. I want to thank her for serving our country, and I hope her fallen comrade is resting in peace. On top of that, this is just more evidence that the Rock is an incredible human being.
Well done Rock, you're the man. I have great admiration for you. Not just for what you did here but for your amazing high level of respect you have for people, and the absolute gentleman you are. Love from Ireland.
From a Canadian. My love and respect goes out for all the American soldiers fighting so freedom and independence is a thing we can experience every day.
Without words, just seeing it from afar is already a gift, because what you have done in this video is to admire You are honest, you have your principles, being famous has not destroyed you. I admire you, you have a big heart, do not stop being as you are.
