I can't stand that my otterbox case stops my fingers from reaching the edge of the screen. I need that ridge to keep it safe. But since the screen is right on the edge I can't reach stuff there. Give me a thicker phone with bezels. It's ok. I can handle it.

yes! bezels do have a purpose, that's why some devices, such as, let's say, an external monitor for cameras are purposely designed with bezels so that 1. you can still hold it by the bezel, and 2. so that the bezels give the photographers/videographers a better sense of aspect ratio and framing since the borders around the screen acts like a frame and enables you to judge the image/video better.

We have Gamepads, accessories and case that can fix that for you. But "IF" you put it on this kind of screen tbh it looks very 2018 and ugly. It is my personal preference i like a full screen to body ration at 2023.

@@RogerCors yeah, this would be perhaps the only reason I wouldn’t buy this phone even though it looks incredible and first time I’ve been this excited about a smartphone in a while. 2 years simply isn’t long enough especially given the specs, it feels like a waste. Also if I were to look at it more as a console than a phone. Even 3 years would be more palatable.

I had the ROG 2, and recently replaced it(broken screen fatality) with the ROG 6, and the thing that's actually got me hooked is low-key the side USB-C port. Not only does it mess with grip way less in both landscape and portrait, but you can actually charge and plug in a USB device at the same time. For example, transferring data from my ROG2 to my ROG6, I could plug the ROG6 in to charge, and then plug the ROG2 into the ROG6 for the data transfer, plus the ROG6 charged the ROG2 at the same time 😆

Considering I have the ROG 5, 6 was disappointing for me as it was almost the same device with a new generation chipset. And the straight jump of $180 from 5 to 6 in my country was shocking!!! I had expectations from ROG 7 to be an all rounder. But it turns out to be the same old device with latest snapdragon. People argue that it's a gaming phone so it doesn't matter if it has a B-grade camera. But that can't be an excuse to make the camera system better. Their own Zenfone series has a better camera system. Gamers can take photos too. All I could say is they could have added a telephoto lens and make the system good enough for day to day use for average people. I am not a big gamer, but I bought the ROG 5 because of the same extra features mentioned here and the huge battery too. Also the display is smooth but lags behind in terms of brightness and colour reproduction when compared to other flagships.

65 watt is the same as Oneplus 8T circa 2020.

@@sumanmondalrock Agreed I have rog5 too. ROG7 I guess has a much higher refresh, chipset and this new airvent but else it is the same old same old. Seeing the rooting support ROG3 has, the rog3 accessories; later rogphones have nothing. ROG3 has functioning desktop mode before samsung because of the twinview dock. ROG5 onwards no dual screen dock yet has broken twinview remnants from rog3 OS which actively destroys Android desktop mode in later rogphones. In someways ROG3 is better ignoring the single battery design and preliminary lack of 3.5mm without accessories.

This phone has EVERYTHING already, no complaints. Super Computers are known for their insane GPU and gpGPU abilities. The current massive external cooler could be large enough to include a GPU module. Maybe the ROG Phone 9 will have some insane gpGPU module connected to the motherboard no other phone has.

I'm not even a phone gamer, and I'm loving the phone just as an Android power user. So much battery and horse power, and with great software features thrown in. Heck, I've even run Linux in a container on it and was able to use Desktop software for things like photo editing(why are mobile editors still so limited?).

Mobile hotspot no longer works, battery drains issues that causes the phone to overheat and lag due to software updates. I had these issues with the asus rog 1 and asus rog 2 phones with the software updates even with 120 hz enabled. I hate software updates and software updates are over rated due to issues that I mentioned and I have the same issues with doing any software updates on any phone. They say software updates are for security, basically another way of planned obsolescence that is being sugar coated by software updates that ruins the phone when they ran perfectly fine before any software updates. Every time I did a software update, I ended up buying a new phone so I can use the software that the phone came with out of the box without functionality being ruined on purpose with software updates. The newer version of android with certain apps are not supported for newer versions of android since the apps that I downloaded on the google play store says that they are designed for older version of android. I'm perfectly happy with an older version of android so the apps that I still use still works perfectly fine. I sideload apps that are outdated and no longer being supported but they still work the same regardless of what version of android it is using. Some of the outdated apps and not supported anywork apps that I use are android 4.4 and android 5.0 on the newer versions of android phones with android 12 and they work same way with the same exact functionality. I wish pc software updates work the same way like android does with older version of the operating system. I use the google now launcher with android 4.4 and it works with my pixel 4a 5g with android 11 with all the same functionality that the google now launcher offers on android 4.4 but using android 11. These things can't be said about when it comes to using outdated software with apps that work the same exact functionality on newer versions of windows. With ios, you would need have the newest iPhones to have all the newest features otherwise you lose all functions on all the older versions of iPhones even though the old iPhone and new iPhone are still running the same software versions and don't have all same exact the features where as android, you can still use about 95% of the same apps regardless of software version you are using and the features are not missing and still works like I mentioned on my pixel 4a 5g.

Yes, exactly. These phones are for longer intensive use and/or high ambient temperatures. I use a MagSafe cooler on my iphone, not for gaming, but for when I am in my car navigating. It keeps the phone stable so the iPhone brightness can stay high if needed.

I have the ROG6, and it really does last me until night as long as I'm not doing hours of screen-on heavy loads. Even if you do manage to drain it though, the charging is so fast, I have it capped at 80% charging during the day to reduce charge wear, and any half-decent USB-PD charger will get you to 80% in no time.

You can pair the Asus aero active cooler with the kunai gamepad and make a monster of a device. But only the cooler comes with the ultimate version, and it seems the kunai 3 doesn't completely fit the camera module of the ultimate 7

No point, there are plenty of great 3rd party Bluetooth controllers out there you could use on this phone and most gamers are already going to have a nice one. No point in making a mid controller just to give it away for free because nobody will use it.
