Wish we had a dedicated episode on him fixing the City Watch with him giving them their iconic gold cloaks. Instead we got an expository line in the first episode with him saying something like "Before I came here, you were just a bunch of stray mongrels. Now your a pack of hounds!" That line does sound cool, not gonna lie, but I wish we, the audience, received a little bit more screen time of him actually fixing them up to be this brutal force of nature that put fear into the streets of Kings Landing. Many missed opportunities within House of the Dragon...
Personally I think the first episode did an absolutely brilliant job introducing him and getting the audience up to speed with Daemon. We saw the city watch terrorize King's Landing under his command, and see their (and his) brutality.
eh, i enjoyed what we got to see in season 1 given how much time skipping the season needed to cover in order to be a coherent and well-paced season of tv
