@@user-tf1ex2cb3j Agree. So was Merry Clayton, who recorded the original studio version on Let It Bleed. ❤ BTW, easily my most favorite Stones song ❤, but I can never make up my mind. So many of them....
I'm 74 yrs old & listening to this song still gives me chills in my whole body. Dynamic!! Mind-bottling!! Love ❤, Love ❤, everybody on this song. Lisa's voice was out of this world!! God bless 🙏🙏. 🤗🇺🇸🇺🇸✌️🎵🎶🎸🥁🐾🐾🦴
Lisa passed up on being a massive solo artist in her own right having made very successful album & singles because she prefers to be performing with the Stones. What a fucking legend she is.
Lisa is awesome..I know jagger great 👍 enatainer.great vocalist.all very talented .g r we up sunset district.philmore east.saw rooling stones es there just before closed.favorite band all time!!
@Good Fella well no shit ? I wasn’t aware of that Mr. Keyboard Warrior ! Thanks for letting your knowledge flow and setting me straight. What the fuck would I do without you letting me know who the band is ! Thanks Dickless
I'll watch this version a million times and never tire of it. I have watched Mick jam and sing this with Tina, Lady Gaga... still Lisa and her vibe, her jamming with Keith...the whole groove of it is spectacular, gives me chills and makes me feel alive!
One of the best music intro's to a song of all time. As soon as the notes play on the guitar, shivers run down my spine, my hair stands on end... The power of the music hits me that hard... Wow... I sometimes imagine it as my entrance music to a stadium full of 80'000, with all the lights, noise, what life is all about... Living on the edge
Absolutely feel the same way. If you are not familiar with the story behind the night Gimmie Shelter was recorded. Please do you will find out about the original vocals by Merry Clayton. She did something that night that most could not do coming to the studio blind to Stones. She stepped out of herself and into their music.
I also agree! I’ve always imagined wrestlemania or a big boxing main event, you can’t help but get not just amped... but focused! I know it’s only a figment of imagination but music of this Calibre Hits so many great notes! Big up Lisa on her vocals and steals the show! Stones are the stones! legends in their own right and spellbinding as ever!
Where John Lennon was raised for his anti war lyrics Keith Richards did deliver the best anti war song ever. It is a motivational song to make peace and to be aware that 'War is just a shot away, but peace is just a kiss away as well' we find shelter in the house of another. In spite of the speed the song brings tears of hope into my eyes
I’ve always loved the stones and Lisa Fischer as to the mix so I get tingles just like when I listen to Tina Turner who perform with them many times did the best, and when they go, they will be the last
She is amazing but I wouldn’t say she’s the show when the stones are involved!! In fact the stones should rename themselves as simply ‘the show’ best rocking roll band bar none
RIP Charlie. I will always remember you for that old set of Gretsch maple drums, randomly assembled bent cymbals, no ride, and that superb tuning. You inspired me to be a drummer back in 1967. You, and that other guy - Ringo Starr
I’ve been a fan since 1964 in 10th grade. Took my 19-yr-old granddaughter to the July 2019 concert and my daughter to last year’s show. Hoping for one more tour in US
even Mick know when to back down with Lisa!!! And I so groove to the inter play with her and Keith. this has gotta be one of the best fucking videos ever!! Just LOVE the interplay!!!
i was there age 11. i’m very grateful to have had the privilege to see such an amazing band but unfortunately i don’t remember too much of it either haha!
I may be an old git, but I got to see the best bands. Stones been going for over 60 yrs ( I saw them from the beginning...tickets cost 2shillings and 6 pence, old money). They are still the best, no current band/artiste can touch them, nor have their longevity...not even Swift. Great bands from the past The Who, Pink Floyd, The Kinks, Cream, John Mayall, The Faces, Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd and more. Some may be dead but their music lives on and are still covered by other bands. I'm glad I was born when I was and experienced the best.
The original cut featured the voice of Mary Clayton. This is Lisa Fischer. She toured with the stones for 25+yrs and now has her own band named 'Grand Baton'
surely one of best Stones gigs of the 21Century ! A more diverse crowd, more young people, no 'golden circles' or seats reserved for very well off. Gives it an intensity and 'meaning' that, while the Stones are always great, can be lost at some of their very expensive gigs. they seem to rise to he occasion too. Great performance.
Ive seen them 9 times,my 1st time i was 10. I've never looked back lol the greatest just saw im in 2019 and had tickets for 2020 but covid fcked that up lol. Oh and the idiot in the white house lol. But i got my dream come true in 2019 front row lol. God bless all you stones fans
Followed, rocked and grown old with the stones since they hit the scene in the 60's....best rock n roll band ever....gimme shelter and sympathy for the Devil have to be my all time fave rock Tracks ...oh ..hmmm also 2000 light years..and not forgetting honky tonk woman or paint it black oh and ....... ..... ...............
@@Raimund6602plenty of people could play his parts but at the end there’s only one Keith Richards - he has a special touch on the guitar. Not to mention his songwriting skill
This masterpiece, guys, I could listen to it a million times without lassitude, it stiil bring me tears in my eyes every times .... Probably their best live performance for this song. And Lisa Fischer is just amazing!
If these youngsters ever get around to some more concerts after this Bastard pandemic, beg, steal ,borrow or sell a kidney to get the money to buy a ticket. They have an indefinable magic when they are together on stage, and you can't quite believe that you're seeing them live. The back catalogue is obviously untouchable, but after following the trials and tribulations of a near sixty year odyssey, it's unbelievable that they are still playing live gigs!
