Why do l continue to feel like I’m somewhere on a flying carpet listening to this..damn ..it ends so abruptly..always end up having to make a crash landing…🇨🇦
It was an important time in America. Alot of simualrities of what we see today. We got throught it back then, and we will again this time around. Just wish there was better music on the radio. like it was back then.
Sitting in a darkened room, downing a hastily prepared coffee, barely awake with a mouthful of toast. Best music to grace my ears as I head off to work.
Sitting in a freezing darkened room (power cut + too xpensive too put gas heating on ) starving ( cause of food shortage) drinkin a whisky (cause alcohol is all that supermarkets seem to have in abundance ) listening to this great track to grace my ears while waiting for the nuclear bomb to drop
The perfect war song. There is no other like it. There's a beauty and rhythm to it, but it is filled with fear and a haunting foreboding at every Crack. I mention the rhythm and groove because this is a perfect war song for us civilians. We have no idea what it's like for those out fighting or what it's like being a soldier. We simply can't comprehend it without living it. I feel this song represents that perfectly.
🪖 as an army veteran i can only speak for myself the stones song that best describes how a veteran with a CIB feels is Paint It Black. and I'll leave it at that.
Keef has got what? Three guitars going here. Ain't no else playin them, it's just Keef overdubbing. How much time did he take going back and overdubbing until he got this last mix that he was happy with. Screw the vocals, the guitar work here is a masterpiece. It don't need vocals, Mick's or Ms Clayton's, thats just icing on one helluva cake.
Their great songs are all ridiculously good but this is like another tier even for them. By far the best. Richards and Jagger gave their best performances in this one
"Gimme Shelter" Oh, a storm is threat'ning My very life today If I don't get some shelter Oh yeah, I'm gonna fade away War, children, it's just a shot away It's just a shot away War, children, it's just a shot away It's just a shot away Ooh, see the fire is sweepin' Our very street today Burns like a red coal carpet Mad bull lost your way War, children, it's just a shot away It's just a shot away War, children, it's just a shot away It's just a shot away Rape, murder! It's just a shot away It's just a shot away Rape, murder! It's just a shot away It's just a shot away Rape, murder! It's just a shot away It's just a shot away The floods is threat'ning My very life today Gimme, gimme shelter Or I'm gonna fade away War, children, it's just a shot away It's just a shot away It's just a shot away It's just a shot away It's just a shot away I tell you love, sister, it's just a kiss away It's just a kiss away It's just a kiss away It's just a kiss away It's just a kiss away Kiss away, kiss away

I'm afraid after observing the place of its origin, and the state of its dominant populations, it will serve as their invasion theme song.... ala "Apocalypse Now" Ride of the Valkyries' ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nuvSA0rLiiA.html
I love how it has like a double breakdown into the beat @ 0:46 and 0:52 and the 2nd breakdow is my favorite part and they only do it that one time during the entire song leaving you craving more.
Changing the subject..”nice” is a word that should be removed from the dictionary..how does it describe anything we hear stomping out right this second..🇨🇦
My brother Lamar Went afar Away from mom Went missing Was gone Jabar Didnt know wrong So he ran away from the farm Took a pretty penny from pops Took a sip of henny not a shot But he fucking took the bottom of the bottle to the top Let the cork go pop One shot away from another cop Down the block now moms house hot Thought we could hit it put the park but it was a just ground ball I found god at the town mall in a church the size of a mouse dog Found lamar out of bounds like foul ball but no foul play so I guess I cant ground y'all said mon in her town car With the top down and dad with a look like he's sad he's not at bar
I love the Beatles, Floyd, Who and respect Zep but neither did anything as groovy. (Prove me wrong with a link). It’s this and many other grooves to me that makes the Stones the greatest rock n roll band. The best band to dance to, hang in back yard over beers with the boys, shag with your lady, smoke a blunt, etc. Basically all the sins of life
