Charlie Watts played in over 2000 concerts with the Rolling Stones and has always been considered the heartbeat of the band as Keith Richards is the heart, Ronnie is the muscle and Mick Jagger is the soul and brains. Charlie will be missed as well as celebrated as he is going to remain immortal. Charlie was not known for flashy drumming, but he was solid, meticulous, and kept perfect time. The Rolling Stones are the most successful band in the history of humanity, having lasted longer, sold out more stadiums, performed in more concerts, influenced more musicians, and told the story of more generations than any other band. They have been both controversial and beloved, produced both great and bad songs, and have been both understood and misunderstood. True musicians, who are influenced by what some people call God, a higher power, or a high level of intellect or consciousness, love the Rolling Stones for all of their imperfections, mistakes, and raw energy. Despite their flaws, the band's brilliance, endurance, and powerful messages have been broadcast over the years, making them an enduring cultural phenomenon. sexual energy, and endurance of intellectual and spiritual broadcasted over the years. If you believe in heaven, heaven will be great when we join our beloved relatives, furry friends, and the Rolling Stones playing to our hearts and desires. Bless you all and may you find all the love and peace you deserve.
This is one of the best audience shot live shows I have ever seen. And I’ve seen hundreds of shows. What a great job capturing the intensity, rhetorical excitement, the darkness, the mayhem, the spectacle, and just the kick ass rock and roll experience that is The Rolling Stones. A fitting way to see Charlie out! The footage of Charlie coming out to accept what would be his last round of live recognition - his face the usual mix of awkward humility and stoic coolness - is beyond priceless.
you may remember the 1975 picture of Mick looking like an ancient mummy or T Rex screaming and shirtless....he looks like that during this performance. The man is dedicated to the live performance of his music hes an inspiration
