Now, this is ENTERTAINMENT. The greatest band ever, covering what is perhaps the greatest phillysound classic and feel good song of all time. And they did it with excellence, all of them!
Sorry but Mick ruins this it's disgusting... Also also this song is supposed to be about liberation.... The Rolling Stones are among some of the most self centred egotists in music...
@@rolandoaponte9062 the Stones are the epitome of drug addled culture that is mindless nonsense. They have no idea of what the O'Jays were trying to say with Love Train and why that message is so important even today. Non-Musicianship (sic) if there is such a word isn't the music. All music is art. The Rolling Stones are very bad art. Also Mick Jager's voice is a train wreck on this song.
@@orestes1984 Oh, I see. There's no way you can divorce the music from the artists life behind the music. Well, I guess I should respect that, but it is not my way of enjoying music. Especially when we are all fallible humans, with defects and virtues. I never used drugs, and I am a christian conservative but will continue appreciating and enjoying the music I grew up with.
I have always loved this amazing performance.. micks ending is phenomenal with the spin and Keith’s love to Ronnie at the end like, “ you did it kid” fn epic❤
Mick if you are the conductor then I'm most definitely getting on quick fast and in hurry.Mick you and the boys can cover any song and it sounds beyond phenomenal 🎉🎉. Keep riding that love ❤️ ❤train.62yrs is nothing but next level experience and excellence
I saw them in Montreal in 2003 and I don’t remember them playing it here. I think I would have remembered as I’ve been a fan since 1967 and seen them 5 times I knew they’d played this live but didn’t know it was on the 2003 tour.
I also would LOVE ❤️ to see them in a club or some kind of small venue!! ONLY seen them in stadiums ☹️ BUT at least I can say I have seen them live 👍 In CA AND MA USA ❣️
Re: Smaller theater concert, I agree, and I would even take it further, like putting Mick in a Broadway show, even though it's pretty late. I was thinking of MJ doing Rex Harrison's role in My Fair Lady, or reading the "My Boy Bill" solo for Carousel .
That was fabulous! lately, I've been thinking of covers I would Love to hear MJ & Stones cover, especially Philly Soul, like the Spinners, O'Jays & DelPhonics. As noted, this was "different" from the style of Blues I usually associate Stones with. He sang it with so much conviction, I was wondering what crisis he may have been responding to, back then? We could use a dose of this now!
A feel good song that feels extra good when it's unexpectedly done by the "bad boys". Especially their background singers and Daryll Jones seldom sounded better, which can't be a coincidence.
For those of you who spilled their bile in agony because of this cover, yes it is unexpected. But what the heck, Mick had always loved American R&B music. And this more like a tribute, no intention to surpass the original! The O'Jays will never cover "Brown Sugar" as good as the original, and same for the Stones covering soul music. Just have fun and enjoy!!!!
