Rock n' roll royalty The Rolling Stones have announced the release date of their first new album in 18 years, and in an Australian exclusive, they told us a big secret about Paul McCartney. #TheRollingStones #RockNRoll #PaulMcCartney
The Beatles having a number 1 hit in 2023, The Rolling Stones preparing for a number 1 hit in 2023. At my advanced age, I suddenly have a new zest for life!🥳
I've never seen the value in this either/or thing about the two groups. They are both great but quite different. I have the records of each in my collection and love hearing both.
So happy to see the musicians from two of the greatest bands ever still making new material. They could've retired dozens of years ago if they just felt like it.
@@andrewjayklatt Yeah but who is going to replace them? Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay? that's like comparing Brittany Spears to Bob Dylan or Elvis Costello.
They oughta get Ringo in and do I wanna be yer Man and some Buddy Holly and some early hits of their own. I’ve been listening to both since 1967 and I’m sure it’d work. They both did Money they could do some great tunes maybe some Chuck and Bo Diddley.
They could do some great stuff. They could easily do Stones stuff, but the Beatle stuff would be too hard. But yes it would sound great whatever they did.@@johngore7744
I think Ringo Starr is on the upcoming Stones album as well, so this might be very interesting. But as Mick and Keith said. John Lennon and Paul McCartney sang background vocals on "We love you" so this is not the first time the Beatles and the Stones are working together. Mick was there when the Beatles recorded "All you need is love" as well, so they have a history of working together. The media tried to make it out as if it was a feud between The Beatles and The Stones. There never was. They were always friendly and they still are. I am a huge fan of both bands, and i`ve been lucky enough to see The Stones and Paul McCartney live. Both great live acts. Paul is going on a sold out stadium tour this winter, and last year he headlined Glastonbury and did a fantastic show there. Ronnie Wood has even joined Paul on stage and played with Paul on a couple of times.I am not surprised to see that Paul and Ringo is playing on an Stones album. They`re all friends, and they belong to the same generation. It`s going to be fun. Ringo is one hell of a drummer, and Paul is an amazing bass player.
Mick and Brian Jones were on baby your a rich man.. and Lennon and McCartney were on the stones sing this all together and sing this all together see what happens
Well there might have been sometimes a competition for example in 1967 when their album covers were very much alike and Lennon has said some mean words through the years about Jagger and Stones. Still they never had any big conflicts or anything like that.
@@attetamminen remember the sgt peppers and satanic majesties LP covers were photographed by the same guy.. the late Michael cooper..both really great lps... satanic majesties was much maligned.. but it was actually a damn good LP and it may have copied sgt peppers in style but the music is way different... Lennon really liked the stones and respected them but he had a temper and was using drugs heavily when he was interviewed and asked about them... he directed his anger at jagger in response to perceived slights .. He felt that jagger Said some tarty things about the Beatles but I don't remember jagger doing that
@@GeorgeTel100It was Charlie’s Swing style that gave them their Swagger. Keith sad that years ago. Been a fan since 1967 I know their sound in all incarnations. And with various producers. Charlie have them a distinct sound ask any drummer. Ringo too. Listen to the beginning of Ticket to Ride. Make no mistake a drummer is the engine behind a rock band and all the best have their own sound. Bonzo. Moon. Baker. Mike Shreve. Mitch Mitchell Stewart Copeland. Clem Bourke. The list goes on
@@johngore7744 Don't misunderstand me - you're absolutely correct about drummers' contribution to the SOUND of their bands - I was talking about SONGWRITING! I mean I'm sure Beethoven's supporting orchestra had a terrific drummer (and even better violinists), but do you know their names TODAY? That was my point.
@@GeorgeTel100They DID, they were just never credited as such… and by the way: The classic Stones roll consisted of Bill and Charlie, and I still haven’t heard anyone do it better.
Back in the 70's, a friend of mine referred to them as the "Moaning Bones." Never passing up a chance to chide or belittle the group, suggesting at one point that the Zappa tune, "Torture never Stops," was about them, the chorus line, "and the stones keep chokin' deep and greenish drops," clearly echoed his sentiment. If he could only see them now.
Charlie Watts and Wyman were such a great rhythm section. Would love to see Ringo and Paul do a few concerts with the Stones and replace Steve Jordan and Daryl. Would be much more interesting. Nobody would miss Steve and Daryl. They are good but nothing to really get excited about.
They have to be the greatest rock n roll blues band in the world.. They havnt stopped since 1962... Even the beatles only had about 8 yrs together as the beatles.. The stones never broke up they have been rocking since 62 and still as big now
This is not at all what I expected. I thought that it was going to be some deep secret or something embarrassing about Paul Mccartney not that he was playing on their new album. I was so ready to hear something really juicy.
That silly question THE BEATLES or the STONES. THE BEATLES are biggest selling band in the World because they are the best. They don’t just do blues the cannot play anything
Over the years Paul McCartney has proved that he can out write and out play and out sing all of the original Rolling Stones together. The Stones were always a raggedy band that were behind the curve and copied others.
Hackneyed for sure. Do we really need more D major? Would love to see them cultivate their garden. Unfortunately there's a musical void or is it a black hole?
