"Under My Thumb" by The Rolling Stones
Producers: Andrew Loog Oldham
Composers: Mick Jagger and Keith Richards
Lyricists: Mick Jagger and Keith Richards
Associated Performers: Mick Jagger, Brian Jones, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Bill Wyman, and Ian Stewart
Lyrics:
Under my thumb, the girl who once had me down
Under my thumb, the girl who once pushed me around
It’s down to me
The difference in the clothes she wears
Down to me, the change has come, she’s under my thumb
Ain’t it the truth, babe?
Under my thumb, is a squirmin’ dog who’s just had her day
Under my thumb, a girl who has just changed her ways
It’s down to me, yes, it is,
The way she does just what she’s told
Down to me, the change has come, she’s under my thumb
Ah, Ah, say it’s alright
Under my thumb, is a Siamese cat of a girl
Under my thumb, she’s the sweetest, hmmm, pet in the world
It’s down to me
The way she talks when she’s spoken to
Down to me, the change has come, she’s under my thumb
Ah, oh, take it easy babe
Yeah
Under my thumb
Her eyes are just kept to herself
Under my thumb, well, I,
I can still look at someone else
It’s down to me, oh, that’s what I said,
The way she talks when she’s spoken to
Down to me, the change has come,
She’s under my thumb
Say, it’s alright

Another Brian Jones classic. Jones neglected to put his name on the songwriting credit, but he deserves a major if not lion's share credit for this number. I hope people now understand that just because Brian for some odd reason didn't insist on songwriting credit for work he did indeed DO, that doesn't mean he "couldn't write songs." He could and did.

Sgt Pepper became the industry standard for how an album would be made from then on. It's not an unpopular opinion to say they're the greatest of all time, you could probably pull up any magazine's 'Top 100 bands ever' and the Beatles would top most if not all of them. I'm not Stones hater, Richards is a pioneer of distortion, I love most of the big Stones tracks, and I'm a fan of a few of the deep cuts, but Let It Bleed just absolutely pales in comparison to Sgt Pepper or Revolver.

@@BocaoZ It IS underrated. The #'s on this video proves it. A sub-par Stones' song on this channel like She's a Rainbow has literally 20 times as many views.

Saw them last Thursday in Foxboro Stadium . They didn't play this and quite a few other songs but they have so many good tunes they can't fit them all in a 2 hour show. Still bad ass for 80 year old guys
