Rick Kernell I’m not too keen on their later material like “Talking in Your Sleep” but I was just listening to their self-titled Romantics album and tbh, it’s pretty damn good. Very “no bs” rock and down to the point. I highly recommend it.

The rhythm playing on this song - especially the intro - is freaking fantastic. It's one thing to be able to mimic it but these guys came up with this. The picking approach and choice of chord voicings creates SO MUCH energy. I've seen a lot of cover bands do pale imitations, but never seen anyone but the Romantics do justice to this song. I've seen them live in a big venue and I've seen them on a day they'd probably like to forget at FSU campus - for me it was awesome to see them up close and personal but it was clear that this gig was not set up to do them justice.

@@davebryan8416 I'm sure you know this, but your best bet is to loop the intro and play it at 1/2 speed (or less?) over and over until you cannot get it wrong (i.e. until you're so sick of it you never want to hear it again! LOL!). Then start doing it at a slightly faster speed. Rinse/repeat until full speed.

+Cecilia Wilson The late 60s and the 70s were even better! I got out of "pop music" when Michael Jackson and Prince became popular. Almost everything that they played before that I liked. The most recent groups that Ilike have been Nirvana and Collective Soul. I'll be 65 years old this coming June. Too old to rock & roll; too young to die...LOL!!!

Brad, you can still rock n roll: your head will pound like a rock, and your bones roll! ;P I was a teen in the 90s, one of my favorite bands was Pearl Jam back then. :) I actually didn't care much for Nirvana, except for a few key songs. He seemed a bit too miserable for my preference. Collective Soul was definitely one of my favs too. :)

How blessed I was to have grown up in the generation where creativity was at an all time high and real ingredients were used quick in food. This classic is still killer.
