People are forgetting and you didn’t even mention it, but this will be Purdys first actual offseason as the starter. His first season he was going through training camp as the 3rd string, so he barely got snaps and when he did it wasn’t even with the starters. Then his second year he was unable to throw the ball until the season was pretty much here. I absolutely expect him to be better. Just surprises me no one seems to mention that even if they think he’ll step up even more
Probably bc the things he need to get better aren’t things u get better at over the offseason. His biggest problems is his pocket awareness and throw under pressure. That’s not something u can really get better at by training.
@@OliversOil his pocket awareness was garbage last year go back and watch the games the 49ers lost last year. Almost every one is bc of Brock purdy inability to get out of the pocket or not get the ball of in time due to him freezing up and not going thru his reads. And yes u can due frills but none of them drills can prepare u for real situations in game.
@@aintnoway8594 if you want to hand pick games that his pocket awareness wasn’t the greatest is a useless argument because what about all the games he wasn’t an issue. The reason he couldn’t get through those reads fast was because he couldn’t see what formation they were in because they will hide it a lot. That’s something he will also get better at with more and more practice. Understanding pressure and coverage is absolutely something you get better at with practice.
@@aintnoway8594 I also think it’s interesting you’re choosing to say his weakness is something that many say is his strength. He is incredibly intelligent. High football IQ and his scramble ability single handily keeps his team in multiple games. Plus his ability to throw on the run is pretty good too. His actual weakness is his arm strength and size. Could you imagine if he had the arm talent of someone like Herbert or Allen? There’s only so much he could work on to improve in those areas unfortunately
I’m a 49er fan I but think we will lose in the divisional or wildcard game this year , our schedule is too hard and so far every 49er quarterback that has lost a Superbowl has never went back
Bottom line for sf, I'm A ravens rooter, I prefer my team to be strong, not try to win with cunning alone. Outsmarting, has zero rings in sf. As a 70 year old I'm thinking to you miners folks, your toughest hurdle will be an idiot owner, an ego psycho coach can't admit he's foolish ever, every word a deceptive lie, and when professionally challenged by media, he attacks, pulls press pass, and makes their job difficult. He also treats the gm, like a dumb puppet. This can never be overcome!! This group parties gets hungover and loses. Cabo, wabo!!!! Just pay me, I'm 500! Squandering my talent, is your thing.
