These guys do have it , the roomates have a great doowop sound and fantastic harmonies. Just listen to any of there 6 cd albums and you'll hear some of the best original and some well known doowop songs out there.even dion himself has said the, roomates are a awesome group, say no more
Listen to their recorded material. Try "Joanne." It's killer. This video was them playing around in a hallway for a camera. This is not meant to demonstrate their sound, but rather their love of the music they want to help keep alive.
Great stuff! I grew up listening to this music as a kid during the height of the "70's resurgence" as a result of the movie "Grease". My sister and I had records of the group "Sha na na" and were huge fans of the show "Happy Days". I've always wanted to learn how to sing and be in a group like this....never too late for singing lessons,haha??
MAN! AWESOMENESS! And not to leave out the other guys, cause like I said, it's AWESOMENESS, but Steve's voice is one of my favorites! He has a great range! He can sing pretty low, and also those really, really high notes without using falsetto! The Roomates are great!
here in the States, i think it was the late 70's early 80's, i could be wrong on that, we had a fairly famous doo wop group called sha na na. these guys put them to shame. no music need for their voices ARE the music. acapella is the best

Nice job. By the way, the term "doo-wop" only came into wide use in the early seventies. Never heard it in the fifties or even during the vocal group resurgence of the early sixties.Thanks.
