I watched this twice and am not gleaning the ROOT CAUSE and How to PREVENT cognitive decline stated in the headline?? (unless you meant diet & lifestyle?) Thank you for sharing the fraudulent report info. I hope those involved are held accountable. It's inconceivable to me that that anyone could want to pull off such deception and ignore the consequences.
Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and Huntington's all " almost always " present with incredible amounts of free iron in the brain The iron causes increased oxidative stress, causing Neuro modulators/Monoamines to have a shorter half life/decay incredibly quickly. Methylene blue as an antioxidant can work amazingly See Dr Francisco Gonzalez-Lima's interviews on RU-vid Taking lots of magnesium,to speed up the glymphatic systems rate of clearance can work kinders Keto genic diets, especially those with copious coconut oil Donating blood can lower iron levels Using things like niacin( flushing) , vitamin C, Garlic to detox is effective as well
@Rochelle I think it was hinted at @6:54 , “Bread head “, reversible via diet and lifestyle. I’m reminded of nutritionist Amy Berger’s talk on Alzheimer’s being considered type 3 diabetes. A disease of the brain not getting enough energy. There was also something about hyperinsulinemia and insulin resistance playing a role in that.

Criminal charges should absolutely be handed down from the Dept. Of Justice. When I started caring for my grandmother, she was on two Alzheimer's medications and between Stage 3-4. The funny thing was I was completely clueless about the disease, but was big on nutrition. Her daily diet was Pepperidge Farms Cinnamon Raisin Bread, Silk Chocolate Milk, Breyers Ice Cream, Sprite Zero, an occasional piece of meat, tons of M&Ms and Tylenol 🤦. She was also on her 2nd pacemaker with less than 5% of her heart valve working. I began infusing grated al dente vegetables 70% worth into homemade ground turkey sliders, which hooked her. We went to the movies every Friday and walked a lot, up to 2 mi once 🤷. From my prospective, I saw a huge delay in her memory decline and she was vibrant; especially after she told me she felt 21 again. Yes, the doctors only waited for her decline stating her meds would eventually stop working. But in the meantime, I was able to get her off 16 meds including Tylenol, which was really only due to hunger headaches, ie., her poor diet. She also didn't want any more M&M's…just flavorful food, a daily vitamin, mini trips and love. Even though she didn't remember me in the end, I believe she was at peace with her thoughts and her spirit. She did also get that 3rd pacemaker with less then 1% of her heart valve working and shriveling. I hope this story helps someone ❤️
It does help, thank you so very much. I am in a similar situation with my beloved father, who was diagnosed with dementia with Lewy Bodies just under two years ago. We were told of the horrible things he faced and were told at the same time that the prescribed medication would help for only a year or so, after which we would see an inevitable and untreatable decline. I was horrified and heartbroken. My pain caused me to research; to find anything, anything at all which might help. I discovered functional medicine. And hope. Since then, diet has been the main focus. Sugar and other inflammatory foods have been reduced or eliminated. Vitamin B12 has been introduced perchance there is a deficiency. Good fat, home-made bone broth and love are the other ingredients. My heart is with you, and I send you deep respect for the love and care you gave your grandmother. Your story adds to my hope ❤ and I encourage every single person in this situation to research, to trust yourself and to act
Interesting info regarding what doesn't cause it, but your title is misleading to the point of considering it to be click bait. I've had it with so much click bait out there that I'm outa here
The more I try to learn how to live healthy and prevent disease, the more I realise it doesn't have to be complicated. For thousands of years we have been working hard and testing our limits, eating what we can find or farm from nature. All of the sudden we have technology, machines, etc and all these problems seem to be getting worse. We need to get back to our primal roots (I don't mean liver king style). Go outside, try new things, eat good local organic foods, push your limits, exercise your brain and body, sleep well!
Organic does not mean "pesticide free" unfortunately. It means they use 'organic pesticides' whatever that means. You cannot buy pesticide free produce anywhere unless you grow it yourself. In addition, next time one pays 2X the price for organic, and the same company also sells a non organic version at 1/2 the price, look at the produce, it looks exactly the same. I shop at Tradr Jo's. The organic bell peppers and non organic seem to the same product, no visual difference. One's just labeled organic. Same with the Organic and Non Organic vegetables. I buy "organic" labeled products, because I hope it will be a better choice, who knows for sure. I would love have them tested someday. However you are on the right track. Eat as natural as possible, exercise, sleep well.
My brother in law died from that. He had good diet, he ate a lots of salad. Way back doctor told him that he had cholesterol, and he wasn't overweight. He didn't eat much of the fat, he avoided it so much. Now, my theory is, brain is made mostly of fat, and if body doesn't have fat, which we need, it will take it from brain and brain will "dry out" and shrink. My cholesterol was 130 and my doctor was going to put me on medication. I refuse to take it. All this be skinny, fat free diets are, I think, conduce getting this disease
You're almost there. Our brains feed on good cholesterol. The brain even produces good cholesterol. When you take statins, the good cholesterol is being eliminated as well as the bad leading to the brain not being fed and essentially starving. Cholesterol pills I believe is the cause of Alzheimer's and dementia. Look at the countries that prescribe them most and you'll find the highest rates of Alzheimer's and dementia.
My stance is that statins, which are to lower cholesterol in arteries, also lowers it throughout the body. Our brains NEED cholesterol as we age. I refuse to take statins. Their effect is not isolated to only arteries. The drug, as any drug taken orally, is going to pass thru every single organ in the body via the blood. Sticky plaques? Think about it. If anything sticks, you oil it, right? Not the opposite. Besides…. we have medical procedures available to open up arteries and clean them out if needed. I’d rather undergo that procedure than lose my mind from irreversible brain deterioration. Would be interesting to see how many residents of Memory Care facilities took statins….and for how long.
My mother had Alzheimers. I looked after her for 10 years till she died - I lived through every change. There was not one Doctor that was of any help or gave any insight. I asked questions about nutrition lifestyle and challenged their knowledge etc but there were no answers. Basically all they said was - she is old, she has it, she will decline until she dies and it won't be pretty at the end so go away and look after her the best you can. Does ANYONE really know the root cause?
pretty much the same happened with my mom except that her decline was very rapid & within four years of diagnosis she was gone. All the doctors did was give her medicine to sleep all the time. Not just the doctors but her siblings too concluded it's just Old Age. It's only in bad times one comes to know who is who No one knows the root cause . ,they only know the process, just like they know the process of cancer but don't know the cause
Inflammation. High levels of sugar consumption/carbs. Possibly a combination of sugar and seed oils which are highly inflammable in the body. Also alcohol consumption. My dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in his early 70s. I changed his diet which I feel allowed me to keep him another 10 years. I believe taking most refine carbs away slowed down the progression of the disease but it didn't fix it. However, it did fix his high blood pressure, he no longer had diabetes and his carotid arteries that were clogged 70% and 40% were no longer obstructed.
The causes of ALL forms of dementia are varied, and what contributes to dementia in one person may be benign in another. That is partly due to genetics, but it is also due to environmental factors, including whatever toxins you were exposed to as a child AND as an adult. For example, if one person eats a lot of sugar and is obese and develops diabetes, he or she is much more likely to develop any form of dementia, especially Alzheimer's, because insulin resistance is a risk factor. However, not all those who suffer from diabesity will develop dementia. One of those individuals could have been exposed to mercury or PCBs or mold or some other toxin, and those are also contributing factors. Or, someone could have had a traumatic brain injury many years ago and it was never properly treated, meaning poor decisions were made, there was a lot of stress or pain in their lives, and the cumulative effect is just "too much". Cancer treatments, pharmaceutical drugs of all kinds, and so many other factors contribute. The root cause is the same as the root cause of all diseases. A combination of lifestyle and genetics. In the case of Alzheimer's Disease, having the APOE4 allele puts you at more risk but is NOT an absolute determinant. We have the power over our genes in most instances. What other things do you do in your life that would put you at risk or give you an advantage? Do you play a musical instrument? Do you meditate? Do you have a healthy social life? Do you avoid EMF exposure? Do you live in a highly polluted environment near a freeway? Do you exercise? The great thing is, by being aware of the risk factors, you can take steps to alleviate them and protect yourself. Kate Kunkel - Author, Don't Let the Memories Fade
@@KateKunkel I totally agree and this makes a lot of sense. My Mum was already 84 when she was initially diagnosed so I could not change much at that point and I believe my Mum's Alzheimers was due mainly to her many many years of indulging in carbohydrate rich foods, and believing in the low fat lie. Thankfully she was never obese, nor was she diabetic. For me, I am definitely of a mind that we all have to be our own advocates for our own health .
I am 68, a RN, was doing Keto, now carnivore....see an improvement in memory. My cholesterol numbers have gone up, but no concerns. Take tap and jazz classes weekly. Walk daily....Will not take statins.
I will never take statins.. The body makes cholesterol,, it does not absorb it straight from food. It creates it to rebuild. If you do alot of lifting high levels are required.
My wife and I knew the cholesterol story was crap 30 years ago. She worked in public health at the time AIDS/HIV was breaking out. Was on the Task Force. Back in March 2020 she said "Fauci has gone crazy". We are in our 70's. US healthcare is a fraud. Keep up the good habits.
I feel like a different person since I started eating two teaspoons of turmeric every day, and started drinking water with lemon juice and apple cider vinegar with every meal.

It could make it worse, we need to know either way. A study into nurses and C-19 revealed the keto diet was by far the worse. More research is needed. We should always be careful of jumping to any conclusions.
@@andrewnorris5415 I've seen studies going both ways but I can attest to the mental clarity and total lack of brain fog I've experienced since adopting keto.
The type of fat consumed in the diet is the key to keto diet's success. Omega 3, EPA and DHA, are key nutrients for the brain. Too much omega 6 is detrimental.
As Tylenol, Advil, NyQuil and DayQuil taken while pregnant has been tied to children with autism, it would make sense to see if they also cause neurological damage in adults.
I read somewhere a while back that Aluminum causes Alzheimer's disease. Prolonged drinking from aluminum cans. Underarm deodorant with aluminum and baking soda that contains aluminum. My 2 cents
The number one cause of autism in children is the MMR vaccine the numbers of autistics just exploded after that was introduced...Get your kids vaccinated for measles mumps and rubella separately not in one hit...As to your point yes you have to be extremely cautious while pregnant as medications can do serious damage to the baby.
thank you for this information - I'm 74 soon to be 75 ALWAYS had a large vocabulary and quick access to names and places. VERY aggravating to look for information in my memory and have a blank space. It's like a honey comb where the honey has dried up and now empty.
There needs to be a class action lawsuit against the researchers and possibly against Nature Magazine for publishing it without a proper peer review. I'm so sorry for your loss. Scientific research is a very dirty business.
On my mothers side of my family all of her siblings, 9 in total got Alzheimer disease. I was think it was caused buy a gene. It is sad to watch it take hold and I’ve been worried about it since I was very young. I’m now in my seventies and there is some forgetfulness but so far so good.
He mentions at the end that a cause of depression being when something bad happens to someone. That's not true, that's perfectly normal. Depression is when everything in your life is going great and you are still sad, depressed, anxious, unmotivated, tired, etc.
I've always thought depression was a killer in many ways. When you have brain fog, you usually have depression or a depressive episode. Brain fog comes from lack of sleep, IMHO. Just my own experience. If I don't sleep well and on a schedule, I can't recall names and other things. Being 55, I put it to age. But my parents are in their 80's, not depressed, and can recall anything recent or from long ago. I think some people have a hard time getting sick and older. Those people tend to be depressed and then get insomnia. Then after you do this day to day I think the brain just starts shutting down.
I can sleep indefinite atm but can do the opposite aswell, about recalling shit you god damn right since my depression got out of hand days fly by ultra fast because now, memory loss is way more present than when i had depression hidden in my head behind thick walls.
I link my brain fog to lack of adrenaline. I am easily irritated by stupidity from any source. If I get SUPER angry my words can flow endlessly. I don't like to be angry or blow. Just pointing out my greased lightly brain, when I am. FWIW
I think senility is often misdiagnosed as Alzheimer's and they stop looking for the cause. My husband had it from iron deficiency/B12, a friend from sleep medication (if you don't experience natural deep sleep your brain doesn't file away what you did yesterday), my aunt from lack of human social interaction/ microwaved food ,an uncle from prescription interaction, the list goes on. They all improved when the cause was discovered .
My mother is a beta thalassemia carrier with very low iron causing anemia and I believe that she is also low in B12 vitamin because she doesn't eat meat....but she has no problem in remembering everything since childhood till now she is also still do garden plants vegetables I don't think low iron and B12 is the cause. My mother is 78 years old now.

Hi Grace, agreed on your critique of this interview. But the comment section is rich in leads. I highly recommend Dale Bredeson's book, "The End of Alzheimers". For the Cliff's Note's version binge watch some of the interviews of him on youtube. I would point you to the low carb/healthy fat world for the best hopes of prevention.

Are there any scientific papers and/or studies that have measured the rise of Alzheimer’s disease commensurate with the rise in sugar consumption or with the rise in seed and other polyunsaturated fats and oils?
Harvard's ethics department said in 2014 that 85-89% of all US pharmaceuticals fall between net harmful to no better than the much cheaper generic drug that it replaced. The article was titled New Prescription Drugs: A Major Health Risk With Few Offsetting Advantages
"Brains that are less optimal". I've studied and studied abuse. One neurologists says that when kids go through emotional stress, it prevents particular parts of the brain from forming. I believe it. My sisters and I have had mental issue since we were kids and our dad was very angry.
As for why the amyloid plaques develop, I seem to remember Dr Dale Bredesen stating his belief that the formation of such plaques is an immune response in order to protect against damaging inflammatory conditions (whether through diet, stress etc).
@@EthanE3 Which may indicate that the reuptake receptors or neurons are simply worn out due to old age, and can no longer perform their action effectively leading to the buildup of the plaques. People can wear out their receptors like drug users who abuse methamphetamine leaving them in a permanently depressed state, because they've simply run those dopamine receptors into the ground. So the solution, if any may reside in repairing those. Or a drug therapy that can clean it up before it forms the plaques. I think they have some now.

Thanks for sharing this perspective. As I put on the years, I have grown more concerned about mental health among seniors. First wake up call was the relationship between covid and nutrition/health. That has lead to changes in my diet and exercise. Continue to look forward to your insights about mental health and causal factors. Thumbs up.
8:9 : He said a drug by the name, Aducanumab, reduced plaque in the brain but didn't help treat Alzheimer's disease but caused side effects like brain swelling. So the plaque wasn't the cause of that disease.
I've read some think Alzheimers should be called Diabetes 3, as it has something to do with problematic insulin receptors in the brain. Can high simple carbohydrate consumption be causative here?
As a professor in science communication, I can speak to the importance of knowing how to read a scientific paper from the literature or at least navigate one so that you can confer with people you know in the field or your doctor. I think this is a great idea for a video!
Simply knowing how to read scientific papers is the least of the worries. Most of the meaningful data, if it is even measured is hidden- even to doctors. Most drugs are not compared to the drug(s) they are replacing. This is very intentional. Data is then massaged and the powers that be strategically hire their favorite consultants to interpret it a certain special way (Hint: in the sponsors favor.) As a professor you may or may not know this but I can assure you it is very true.
So grateful to stumble across this video. I also had an attack from an Alz Agency for daring to say there were strategies that all people could use to enhance brain health. Glad you’re persevering and looking forward to seeing your completed project.💜💜💜
I really wish this video lived up to its title. Loses so much credibility. For those looking for root causes, and how to prevent alzheimers, this video was disappointing. I'm glad the fraudulent research was revealed, however, a more HONEST title would be, 2006 Alzheimer study found fraudulent. 😠
Yes - this guy’s integrity is questionable … actually, if you listen to the “energy” in his voice … it lacks clarity… it does not have the “ring of truth” that comes with an open heart. Max is correct about the misplaced credence in regard to what was once attributed to generating Alzeimer's disease. I just watched a video by Dr. Berg on this subject. The culprit is failure of lysosome function in the brain and the suspected reason is elevated glucose (sugar).
I was a looking after old people 38 years ago . Old people 70 80 90 year old. Not one of my clients had any problems in the mind. I went back to that job 28 years ago . Only one beautiful 55 year old had serious memory problems. Fast forward 8 years ago decided to go on a course to get certification to help looking after OAPS. Nearly whole course was about Dementia Altzimers Seems that majority of these OAPs had these diseases. I concluded that the only common denominator was the flu vaccine. When you have a virus injection then it stays in the brain eating away . Yet when you get the flu your immune system heats up body and brain to burn away the virus.
There is sooo much suppressed data on how detrimental vaccines are and alot of proof they really aren't effective and definitely not worth the side effects
I have a C-PAP machine and qualify for Provigil medication (and it was much needed in the beginning) Any day I had to do any legal work or make any important decisions I had to take the Provigil first. No concentration without it and having to pull to the side of the road for naps when driving any distance). I still like using my CPAP although I barely need it and when I take the Provigil I hardly noticed the help it gives me because my brain is functioning so much better. My T2D is practically reversed and my weight is down. I worry that if I’m ever hospitalized I’ll have to eat that high carb SAD. When the big employee breakfast item in the hospital cafeteria is white flour gravy and biscuits it’s bad.

I've heard a lot of claims about a diet that included golden milk, helped prevent Alzheimer's. The claim was about turmeric's anti-inflammatory properties, combined with all the other ingredients. It is also claimed to help again headaches. I don't know if it is true, but it certainly is a calming drink.
I'm a big believer in all things related to Cumin ,and turmeric ......India has the lowest incidence of cancer on earth ....spices are the key to life !
@@kingofthedots3835 Circumin / Tumeric root can be really strong like aspirin as an anti-inflammatory, need to go easy on it. India has very low incidents of colon cancer etc. due to this, and turmeric tablets are even given to colon cancer patients sometimes. Another interesting place is Mexico, low instances of heart disease, they eat a very high diet in legumes (beans). So along with fish like salmon etc. worth adding to the diet and eating in abundance.
LOL, that is a complete bullshit. Alzheimer's is caused by dietary sugar/fructose and insulin resistance. The best way to prevent Alzheiemer's is to stop eating sugar and other plant-shit and eat meat plus animal fat only. All in all, there is a lot of stuff in meat which is essential for good brain health (cholesterol, saturated fat, DHA, EPA, taurine, carnitine, carnosine, B-vitamines, vitamine-A, and so on...)
If seratonin is low this could be caused BY depression rather than the other way round. People do have bad things happen to them and that can get them down. But causality is not just unidirectional.
Just saw an "age reversing" video, noting a lot of people have deficiency of selenium, serotonin, and cortisol. Also, my dad was depressed, and my dad had Alzheimer's. Also his mother, and I've read a lot on it, and take 200 iu a day of Vitamin E to prevent it. NEJM had a study that 200 IU of Vitamin E a day, fights Alzheimer's the best, next 400 IU. More is not better.
fyi. VIT E : my hair was falling out for years. Finally it turned out that my daily 500 Mg of Vit E was the cause. I stopped taking E and within 3 DAYS ! My hair stopped falling out.👈🏿 SO : Vit E is excellent but I would not take more than 100-200 mg per day.
Wow, thank you for that information on vitamin E, I know there's a fake vitamin e but I will try to take the real one, from all different things I've listened to people talk about on here I think I'm going to step up on my newfound information, but thank you for this one on the vitamin E.
Amyloid plaques are aggregates of misfolded proteins that form in the spaces between nerve cells, they are NOT the same as 'plaque on your teeth' (stated at 2:12) which is a biofilm of microorganisms that grows on teeth within the mouth. That said - I think this was simply a verbal shortcut for the sake of explaining a complex subject to the 'masses'. Subsequent studies have shown that amyloid plaques and tau tangles have been found in the brains of elderly patients that did NOT show any sign of cognitive decline prior to their deaths.
Prof. (now Emeritus) C. D. Rollo (et al) of McMaster University, Ontario have repeatedly, systematically demonstrated over a decade and a half that feeding mice with an anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory multiple-nutrient supplement completely *abolished* mental decline and brain atrophy. Indeed, this was shown in mouse models of Alzheimer's as well. Note: not just statistically lessened but completely abolished cognitive decline. The subjects, of course, were mice, but the results are highly suggestive regarding humans.
You did not answer the root cause or say how to prevent cognitive decline...I watch the WHOLE video. Yeah I get the research was fraudulent but answer the question you say you do. NOT cool
Someone needs to research the effects of modern toothpaste when it comes to plaque in the brain. I stopped using tooth paste and went to baking soda and coconut oil instead and have had no plaque for 6 years now. After 3 visits over 2 years because that’s when I used to have to go get cleanings, I’ve quit the cleanings because I haven’t needed them. Money saved and only go for checkups for other possibilities occasionally.
No question in my mind that dietary and lifestyle factors can have a pronounced effect, and shall we say, after the ship has sailed, slow the progression rate. My mother had a serious deficit, and was in care, but mercifully she passed before reaching the later stages, although she flirted with them at times. We did find that augmenting her institutional diet, and supplementing did help. If you or a loved one has this disease my heart goes out to you. Another extremely counter intuitive aspect of her case was that she "seemed" to be sensitive to anti-biotics in a strangely positive way. She lost her mobility a few years in, as many people in care do, and was therefore prone to UTI's and there was what appeared to be, over time, this rebound effect. She would decline into an unresourceful level, the Doctor would shake her head and say something like, this is just the progression of this horrible disease, we would steel ourselves to this being the future reality, but ask about a UTI test or results, and if she had one and was treated, it seemed she would rebound back to a state in which she was talking, eating and reacting and at least taking some joy here and there. I don't know if anyone else experienced this from their medical system, but it seemed, from day one, in the Hospital on, the whole med establishment seemed to believe that UTI's can cause transient Alz like symptoms. Although no one seemed to have an explanation why this specific infection might have this effect and how. Eventually we bought into it too, to the point where we believed there was distinction between my mothers actual baseline state and these mysterious UTI effects. There did seem to be some validity to it. She was treated, and then rebounded, time and time again. Over time there did seem to be cracks in this scenario. There were events of reduced cognition in which she tested UTI negative and they continued for weeks with us again ready for the worst. Then we asked for a retest, it came back positive, my mother was treated, and poof back to what we considered her baseline. Then we began asking for treatment, in shorter time frames, even on negative tests, and it still had a positive rebound effect. I also noticed what I believed to be a greater efficacy when AB's that penetrated the blood brain barrier easier were used. When she passed at 89, after 5 years in care, she was still recognizing us, talking, eating and moving in a wheelchair somewhat. There was a gradual decline over that span, but I still believe that these extreme dips were either not directly related to the original disease or it was being moderated by the treatment. My question at the time became why did this happen. Obviously unless we were all suffering from severe observer bias, something is wrong with this model of progression and treatment. It does not fit the accepted parameters at all IMO. At the time, I did discover some fledgling work that proposed a bacteriological/viral cause for some dementia's. One proposed that some common bacteria were able to penetrate a leaky blood brain barrier in elderly patients and that some dementias might be attributable to an immune response to those infections. Not sure if that has been disproven, or if there are any credible studies of the hypothesis, but if so, I would guess they are on the down low from the uni-theory pressure that Max alluded to. Now I don't know what explains my experience, it could be as simple as any serious infection, in an elderly person, depleting limited resources, and causing a mental deficit. It could have been wishful thinking combined with observer bias. It might also be that there is a bacteriological/viral component to some dementias and that medical staff have been seeing the effect for years, but their cause and effect conclusion is in error, and the AB work to quell the state somehow, regardless if there is a UTI or not. Personally I think that is quite possible in this one case at least. I certainly don't want to give anyone false hope, I know the desperation that can come with having a loved one in purgatory, and I certainly don't recommend running off half cocked demanding Anti-biotics from your doctor, but a little research couldn't hurt, if you are facing the point of no return. Sorry for the War and Peace comment. journals.plos.org/plospathogens/article?id=10.1371/journal.ppat.1008596 Here is a recent one just found.
@@janetanderson495 It took us quite a while, but eventually after 3-4 year's the Doctor did relent and prescribe a low dose prophylactic AB. It did seem to smooth the peaks and keep my mother's mental state more consistent, at least in my subjective opinion..
You have put more thought into this important topic than most doctors. I think it’s worth investigating. The UTI’s are something I have noticed as inducing cognitive symptoms as well. I believe dietary factors are the root cause as pervDr. Joel Wallach.
I have been working in nursing homes almost 23 years and there is a direct relationship between too many prescriptions of antibiotics and c-diff. I believe this is the reason that doctors and nurse practitioners are leery to use antibiotics as often many are suggesting.
Chronic emotional neglect is a massive influence on the development of many. That neglect would foster a constant potential of existential doubt. Please do a talk about Dr. Harry Harlow and his primate research.
I was having similar thoughts. Also statins have been shown to double the risk of dementia. Dementia has been with us for a longer time than statins have so obviously not the sole cause but they aren't helping.
I won’t eat food with any “flavors” in the ingredients. I see packaging that says no additives then when I read the ingredients there it is. I’m convinced these food additives have play a tremendous role in not only food addictions but also neurodegenerative diseases
Medium chain triglycerides ( M.C.T. ) oil three table spoons daily has been very effective in two weeks ❤ alternative fuel ! This worked for my roommate ( who is skinny by the way ) and it's now two months further on as I revisit this post . The scource of my M.C.T. information was a female Pediatrician on a Ted Talk who's husband had full blown symptoms of dementia . She said his brain accepted this fuel readily as an alternative when it was no longer able to process it's usual fuel . Full improvement return to normal took two weeks .
@@coreenaburke8534 M.C.T. oil ( medium chain triglyceride oil ) I find at the local health food store . It's also available at the health food department of the supermarket though more expensive there . My calculations showed me that the largest can of it .. ( 1000 ml. ) ... cost about $42. something and lasted about five weeks ...at three tbs. per day ( relative to the volume of the spoon ) ....a value of a third better than some of the smaller offerings . The Ted Talk Doctor also cited 7 tbs. per day ...of coconut oil ...as equivalent ... ( affordable in a pinch though probably fattening ). Good luck to you I hope for you the best .
I’m trained in conducting scientific research, and it’s silly to me that this paper had any weight or merit. Everyone knows in scientific research that a novel experiment with significant results can be interesting and intriguing, however means nothing until it’s reproduced by further researchers over and over. Data and results that can be reproduced over and over by different groups of researchers, that’s the gold standard, not a one off study
Hmmm....wonder if its an auto-immune type situation specifically attacking the brain? Toxins, chemicals, artificial everything(!) In food, air, water. These things have increased hugely in last 50 + years. Could trigger this response in people's brains, but in some its another type of disease (arthritis, attn disorders, etc)?
in new Zealand there is a suggestion that brain injury can also contribute to alzheimer disease as some of our rugby players who have been concussed several times are beginning to show early signs of the disease
They studied elderly Nuns many had plaque but not all had Alzheimer's. So the scientist came to the conclusion that the Nuns lifestyle/ personality gave immunity to the plaque.
I had read a while back in the LA Times that studies were done on brains on peps who died. Some who had amyloid plaque buildups did not have Alzheimers. Some who did not, had it. Plaque buildup did not appear to correlate with one getting Alzheimers disease. These studies were not done on Nuns.
The areas in the world that have the least meat in their diet have the least dementia (such as parts of rural Africa), but when people from those areas move to areas with high meat consumption their rates of Alzheimers increases to the rate of the country they moved to, unless they retain their original diet. Indeed, high blood sugar is associated with Alzheimers, but so is high saturated fat. The one diet that has both low levels of processed carbs and saturated fat is a whole food plant based diet, or such a diet with a little fish (as in the traditional Okinawan, or Japanese diet); in fact that is the diet followed in the places with the lowest rates of Alzheimers in the world. Avoiding grains won't help you avoid the disease, but avoiding processed white flour products may. However, rice was found to be a part of diets that protect against Alzheimers disease. Diets high in animal foods did not. Perhaps it is because whole food plant-based diets lead to far better blood sugar results than do animal food based diets.
No kidding. This video and the commenters ramble on and on and on without hardly being coherent or offering coherent advice. Don't smoke, drink, or do drugs, Orgal hygiene is a big deal. Don't have temper problems. Exercise. Hydrate with water. Defend freedom and capitalism. If you are going to be genocidal communist maniac known as a Democrat you will always live a life of confusion. Basically don't be a dumb ass. The level and ability to know so much that when you speak and communicate to normal, mentally stable, and YES educated people that you aren't coherent or you think speaking in code or in fragments that the three other people that know what you are talking about is isn't doing the rest of us any good.
It's easy to blame the presence of something for being the cause just because it's there. It's like blaming the fire service for making fires simply because they attend fires in order to put them out. The same mistake was made with Cholesterol for causing blocked arteries when it was excess glucose which causes placking and the LDL stick to it in response as a bandaid to the damage.
: I truly believe in the old adage if you don't use it you will lose it! I do a bad who is in his 80s who was a sharp as a tack his middle capabilities were very strong even though his body had weakened with years he constantly designed things for his company and I do believe this is the reason that he did not get something like Alzheimer's. Over the years as a hospice helper I discovered something interesting people who retired started having memory issues within six months to a year and they complained of these issues when they had been in retirement for 10 years could it be that the lack of use of the brain for cognitive and for creative ventures maybe the secret to not only longevity but mental sharpness! Have you ever studied or done a paper on this subject?
That makes sense bc the brain goes becomes idle when not doing the same work. If most of these people didn’t get mental exercise daily, the. They may have lost cognitive abilities.
Is that can in front of the speaker a Diet Soft Drink?? I stopped drinking soft drinks out of cans in the 1980s. I'm now in my 8th decade of life Dementia Free!
Is there any research being done on statins... and if they are affecting the plaque in the brain? Am I wrong to say our brains need cholesterol ... and without cholesterol the plaque can accumulate?
