Let's be real. There is no 10 minute drum machine routine that even touches this, 6 years later. Good luck catching up, younglings. My 8 year old is already on your tail.
Where'd you go man!? You're a legend, please start posting again on your channel. We all miss you and need you to come back. As you said, your talent is untouched and that's why we need to hear you again, you're just too good!
HOLY SHIT U ARE ALIVE??? pls start posting stuff again! or ask ur 8year old if he want to get recorded! BRO WHERE DID U GO?? u go live somewhen in the future somewhere? I have a feeling that like ppl would pay 100s of $/€ to see u live! me included!
Queslove in the back just LOVING THIS SHIT - There is nothing like a drummer listening to super creative beats jus oozing with rythms and sycopation left and right
"I think people trust The Roots and their aesthetic and their taste so much that people come here knowing maybe they're going to discover something new." - Zoë Kravitz
Watch the "Band" while he does his thing. all the MC does is yell "Yeah!", "What?" , and "uhhuh." from time to time, and all the drummer does is drink water the entire time. Ellis is his own show, they just tag along. :P
Hope your kidding by labeling The Roots like that. The drummer, Quest Love, probably one of the best drummers in the business, he also DJs and makes beats on pads aswell. Jeremy has an amazing show but hes an intermission for the Roots on their live tour atm. Roots pull out an amazing show aswell, just saw them live yesterday in NYC Jeremy was there as well, intense shit.
CriticalChocolate Let me clarify now i'm not a half-asleep drunk. Putting The Roots and Ellis in the same set at this point is like interluding Beethoven with Metallica, yeah they are both great music in their own rights, but they don't belong in the same space like that. Ellis is clearly deep in electronic, he needs to branch out on is own if he is going to grow financially or artistically, otherwise he is arguably dragging down the show for the fans who are only there for The Roots themselves, and hampering his own fanbase's ability to find and watch him play or listen to his songs by staying tied to The Roots.
This guy looks like he's a voluntary Art Teacher at a Community College in the hood. Or he's a personal florist for your aunt's church. Or he's the type of guy that'd be an Antagonist in Breaking Bad... but how he SOUNDS... GOOD GOD, he SOUNDS like THE FOUR HORSEMEN OF THE MUTHAFUCKIN APOCALYPSE!!! JEREMY ELLIS is GOAT material right now!
"voluntary Art Teacher at a Community College in the hood. Or he's a personal florist for your aunt's church." I'm DEAD, LOLOLOL. 2 minutes later, I'm still laughing, good lord! So thankful the Roots cats did not see this.
@7:00 (Mario bros theme song) That is maybe one of the most under rated live finger banger performances in hip hop EVER! Yeah i said it. Now if only we could get Jermey Ellis and Scott Storch in the studio together. Thumbs up if you would love to see this happen.
the song is called "the red" off of jaylib's album champion sounds... you can't buy the original version because they never cleared the sample but it's on youtube ... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VRzRSCRZweY.html
