You should have covered the fact that Rip Ride rockit was planned to go across the river in Citywalk and then come back. That part was canceled due to budget cuts but it was a very anticipated feature of the ride!
Hearing about these ride companies always makes me wonder how you'd get started in that industry. Especially today it has to be pretty slim pickings for clients.
KolonaRulez probably mass manufacture flat rides in developing countries. From there you can make specialized versions and expand into coasters. It would be pretty tough though, not going to lie.
You should look into the history of RMC they started as a small family own construction company they even did snow removal for a short time . They still a family own business they are the ones who build Steel Of Vengeance at Cedar Point.
This broke down when I was at Universal in 2013. But it specifically broke down at the apex of the vertical climb, so we got to watch people have to climb down from the top. After that, no-one in our party wanted to ride it... except my insane grandmother.
He looks like a mix of Niki sixx and Ozzy Osbourne, so If he was real he would have overdosed at least 4 times and have technically died one time but have been revived
I love the Rockit, even with all of the issues (I've spent way too much time in that queue line listening to the safety instructions on repeat). I also believe Beastie Boys "Sabotage" is the best song choice :)
This ride is painful, not because the ride itself but the seats are so bad ! My son was in pain for the rest of the day we rode it, next day my daughter too. And I have heard the same from a lot of people !
Same, I mostly only get to ride it once in every vacation I go to Universal (2) The only thing preventing me from not passing out or going insane in the track, is the song I pick.
Glad I’m the the only one who noticed how the ride got rougher. I used to love this ride when I was younger, but during my most recent trip to Universal this ride just beat me up. Let’s just say my music video on this ride was not pleasant.
Yesss I grew up in Orlando and we were all obsessed with it, it went very fast and just seemed to glide over the track. You got great air time and zero headbanging. I didn't ride it for last four years or so recently we went back and I was excited for my favorite coaster in Orlando but it was sooo rough and definitely didn't glide anymore. I remember back in 2010 this thing always breaking down and I totally agree about the annoying video in line lol. I really hope Universal smooths the track. It's really a beloved ride by locals and tourists alike.
For me the worst part of the ride is the restraints, I am a little overweight and the restraint is so tight on my stomach. Everytime I go to Universal I pass on this ride. I have lost weight recently so my next visit in December I will try it again to see if the restraints are any better on me.
I rode this the first year it was opened and was quite impressed but my ride last year (2018) was just the opposite: rough as hell and the trims set to molasses mode. Very well done video, keep making them!
I would love to see this ride playing Nightwish's "Last ride of the day" during the last minutes of operation - that would be a great ending of the day!
Omg I hated it! I went in 2019 & I have never been such a rough coaster, even the old wooden coasters I've been on weren't as rough as this. Almost wish I bought my video as you can clearly see all the joy go out of my face within the first 30 secs of the ride.
I agree they need to put on a new track like they for the Hulk , I’m sure it was smooth and fun when it first opened but unfortunately didn’t age well . When I rode it a few years back with my son it felt too rough and this is coming from a coaster enthusiast who don’t mind some roughness but this ride wasn’t the fun.
I remember listening to Paralyzer by Finger Eleven the whole way to Universal just to find out there was a roller coaster there where I could also pick that song and listen to it WHILE on the ride it was the greatest moment of my life lmao
Seriously! We have a wooden coaster that goes underground, underneath the parking lot and the road outside the park, to another lot on the other side and then has a full loop! Lol
as someone who went on it a good twenty times in the course of four days (i was able to go on it back to back to back to back at one point, the wait times were so short!) let me attest that SOME RIDE CARS ARE MORE JOSTLY THAN OTHERS. it all depends on which one comes to you. also, sitting in the very front actually gives you a smoother yet less thrilling ride than sitting in the back. one of the cars i remember riding had a glitchy touchscreen so couldn’t even select the music that i wanted. about halfway through the ride, i start to feel a tiny bit lightheaded but then it goes away instantly. overall, i really like this ride. more people should give it a chance :)
I've ridden on that coaster before! I found it very jerky with my head going side to side, and it was very annoying in the queue when the instructions for the ride kept on replaying in the screen without break, but I would definitely go on it again. I loved how you could pick a music track before the ride starts. I just picked at random, because I didn't recognize any, but it was good. And the ride was fun, I just wish it felt a little smoother. And it was cool going vertically up at the beginning of the ride
Loved this ride at Universal in 2017, its one of the few rides at any amusement park in FL, where you actually get an adrenaline rush! All the rides in FL parks seem pretty tame.
I still feel the pain in my spine and the massive migraine I had after my first ride whenever I watch any kind of POV from this damn ride!!! * shudder *
Great video mate! I genuinely really enjoy this coaster, despite the obstructive block brakes, I actually think this one has a good layout! Some really cool elements and a forceful finale whilst blasting a bit of Muse 👌 Can't beat it!
Finally got to ride this last week and I really liked it! I didn't find it too rough. Went back at the very end of the day and used one of the secret codes, too.
Great video. I thought about requesting it last week and didn’t, but you read my mind anyway! I usually pick Rollin’ too. I know it’s not the best coaster ever but I still love it.
My 10yo grandson and I rode the coaster in 2011. There was a long breakdown wait and I agree it was a rough ride. I did enjoy the initial flip over at the top of the big loop but as a coaster enthusiast who has ridden coasters for 70 years, I only gave it a C minus grade.
This was mine and my dad's first rollercoaster ride at universal and honestly we were OBSESSED. We got front row every time and then asked if we could go at the front on our last day. We are big fans
It's honestly a blast. Just make sure you are close to the front because at the back it feels a bit jerky. I'm terrified of heights, but because the vertical hill isn't a 90° drop, I was fine going on it
I think this ride is decent. No more, no less. I’ve never had a problem with it being to rough and selecting a secret song is always exciting to me. My only real problem is that the theming is kind of light compared to other Universal rides. Also, I’m not really one for exposed coaster tracks and supports in a theme park.
Love this ride... It's one of the first things we do there to get the blood flowing, then Mummy, and whatever comes after that... Rollin is my go-to song, but I'm going to experiment with those hidden songs now! Thanks for that tip
I rode it for the first time 3 years ago and i have to agree with the rough riding experience. It lacked a good suspension system and really made me feel disoriented and nauseated after it was through. I wouldnt consider it a tragic loss if it were to close down.
I rode this ride back during Gradbash (high school graduation trip to Universal parks) and holy moly this ride hurt my neck. I loved the idea of the music but during the whole ride my head was going all around the headrest and when I got off of it, I refused to ride it again
There is a app called the “Pocket Rockit” which will list all the secret songs and how to get to them. There’s not much time for you to do it once it comes up. My favorites are “A night on Bald Mountain”, “Movin Right Along”, “Guitars, Cadillacs”, “For Whom the Bell Tolls”, and “Immigrant Song”.
my family went to the universal studios park in 2015, and i loved this coaster! as someone who grew up going to holiday world every summer and mostly had experience with wooden coasters, i didn't care about the jerkiness since it was basically all i knew!
I really enjoy riding this. It's been a few years and I do remember it being a little rough, but the music element is really fun. My dad didn't understand the system and picked a Fergie song.
I rode the ride a couple of times when I was younger on a family vacation to Florida and I have to say I loved it, I can see why people would say it's a little rough but to a younger me that just added to the fun.
I’ve only ridden this ride once. Never again. My lap bar locked 7 inches away from my body and they sent the car despite me trying to get their attention. I could feel myself slipping out the top on the lift hill.
