Think RE are killing it at the moment not just on pricing but because they seem to be making practical thinking mans bikes where you can enjoy a spin out on sunny days but they are all still relatively basic and practical even these new digital ones are very likely to have a mechanically uncluttered design ethos its kinda becoming there signature thing , and to be honest they deserve to succeed because they are attempting to make honest real world motorcycles and resisting the temptation to keep up with everyone else, the net result is something for everyone in the real world

In all honesty, I haven't seen a single Triumph 400 on the road in my neck of the woods. I don't think they are flying off the shelves in the UK as predicted by many. The 450 is not on my radar but I can see it's aimed market. Tripper for me is pointless when I have a decent phone and ear piece. Price? That's the reason it will sell IMHO . Triumph is only slightly dearer but the maker for many is a very unknown quantity

It is good to have multiple choices. This will be a popular class, the bikes are powerfull enough for normal road use but still cheap enough for most people to be able to afford one. There are many greybeards like me who sooner or later want to downsize as the bigger and heavier bikes are getting harder to handle and the only way to keep on riding for a few more years will be with a lighter bike. Also the A2 class is what new riders start with so good bikes in this category is essential for manufacturers. The competition is stiff allready, with more to come. RE is in good shape, clearly one of tomorrows winners.

Had my first "long" ride of the year yesterday & having nearly tipped off on a number of roundabouts & sharp bends due to a proliferation of deep linear ruts which have appeared over winter, plus having cars 6 inches from my back wheel wondering why I was taking turns so slow, has made me decide to hang up my boots. Looking at these riders bend swinging on beautifully smooth roads in India makes me realise we have become a 3rd world country in more ways than one.

This looks nice (especially the white and blue colour scheme) but if I was going to buy a mid sized roadster/scrambler full of tech with a watercooled engine, I would go for the 2024 Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 (roadster) but preferably the Svartpilen 401 (scrambler). For £50 more than the Guerilla in the UK you get: - 8kg lighter bike wet. - 3L larger fuel tank (approx 25% larger). - Quickshifter as standard. - Lean sensitive traction control and ABS as standard (with adjustable sensitivity). - Switchable rear ABS on/off as standard. - Pirelli Scorpion tyres (on the Svartpilen 401) as standard with similar sized wheels. - TFT display with not a Google based tripper navigation as standard. - Adjustable suspension for compression and rebound front and rear, inverted forks and 10mm more travel at the rear as standard. - 11mm more ground clearance. - IMO a nicer looking bike (except the only colour option is black/grey). To be fair the Svartpilen has a lower exhaust (although a conventional upward swung exhaust can be fitted after for around £600) and does not come with a centrestand, but this is less of a concern for a roadster. ADV bikes where maintenance on the roadside is necessary really need them, but it's nice to have anyway. Also the Svartpilen seat height is much higher at 820mm, but I can flat foot it fine (5'9'' with a 30'' inseam). I may be a bit biased as I currently have the 2024 Svartpilen 125 (my first bike) which is essentially the same bike as the 401 except it has a smaller engine and loses some features like the adjustable suspension damping and traction control (not particularly necessary on a 125). But for basically the same price, you get a whole lot more on the Svart/Vitpilen 401s than the Guerilla. When I do eventually upgrade my bike however, it probably won't be the Husqvarna 401. It will actually be a Royal Enfield, but not a Royal Enfield full of tech. I am waiting for the release of the RE Scram 440, which will be the replacement for the current Scram 411, with an improved air/oil cooled engine. It will likely have none of the tech of either of these bikes, but that's actually what I want from Royal Enfield, not another tech filled bike. It's funny that the release presentation of the Guerilla 450 made a statement of not being a clone of others, but IMO it's a lot closer to that than their original air/oil cooled bikes. Royal Enfield need to keep to what they do best which is nice bikes with low tech. The Guerilla is not interesting to me much at all compared to their other offerings.

Himalayan gives u 28 - 30 Km per litter.... This has 11 litter tank So... 300+ km & u have to consider the overall lighter weight & smaller profile.. So yehh it's good enough.. 👍✌

The bike looks really sweet, all colour options look amazing, wow! But I really dislike the very small fuel tank, I mean, if it was a 150cc 12hp bike like my very own Yamaha Crosser S 150, I'd understand that because you can't really expect to go far on a trip, while this 450cm³ bike is much more capable and can overtake safely in the highway. I'd totally buy this RE, but I'd be annoyed to refuel so often during a trip, lol.

Royal Enfield have been flooding the 350/450/650 market with a bewildering range on a regular basis. My grumble is that a new Interceptor/ Continental GT can be bought at the same price mine cost five years ago. But I still love it.

Why not, I suppose. I just hope they don't dilute and/or over-extend too much. It seems they are doing it 'the right way' though, which is to produce two or three good 'platforms' for bikes and just vary the ergonomics and tuning to suit as many customers as they can. I really would like to see a 450 Bullet (I found the 350 couldn't get my fatness over 60 without a following wind) but I'm not sure the 450 platform will bend that far?

Nice looking bike, should sell well. I hope you're right about a Scram version.....or maybe not as I bought a new Scram 411 last week and will wish I'd waited. That said, I do like the air cooled 411, it has enough power for the back country roads I ride on most of the time.

Another nice looking bike, with This RE and the Triumph 400’s we are really spoilt for choice. It’s good to see RE not doing a classic retro styled bike. Is it just me or from some angles in the photos it’s looks a bit like a Yamaha RD250 LC particularly with the white and blue tank.

The price seems reasonable on one hand, but then my mind awlays goes to the 91hp Hornet 750 for £7300. I know thats 2 grand extra in this case, but probably only a few tens of quid extra a month for a bike that will keep up with anything on the road. The Hornet makes a lot of other "small, budget" bikes look silly too, not least Honda's own NX500 at £6700ish. You'd have to be very commited to the very limited off road ability of the X to buy a bike with half the power for pretty much the same price.

1. At the beginning you show a bike with a white radiator which I immediately loved because it reminds me of the Suzuki GT750 which made a point of proudly displaying its huge radiator that immediately appealed to me because it looked so futuristic and dominated the bikes appearance. For much the same visual appeal I also liked that flat sided silencer which was also white/brushed steel. Apropos of nothing I wonder if the BSA 650 might not look better for emphasizing the rad rather than trying to obscure it and if the latter was really a big issue then surely a slimmer rad that fit between the frame tubes might look better? Yet at the end you show a riding sequence on a bike that has a dark radiator that doesnt look so good. So my point is that you never said which finish version was on camera? I wouldnt take a second look at some of those choices of finish and BTW I didn't think the Barcelona unveiling did it any favours. All I noticed was the disparity in pricing and thought the differences were a bit much for the choice of appearance. On the other hand I really liked the emphasis you placed on the bikes general function, its handling was well displayed and a big plus in my eyes. I absolutely agree that a 'standard' is an ideal choice since one can always modify it to suit ones preferences but in general they do everything well. Overall I have always placed a lot of importance on your objective opinions about these bikes you show us and in many was your views coincide with my own about the various pros and cons, too many to mention here. Last but not least I dislike the model name 'Guerilla' as it has unfortunate connotations in my mind but thats nothing to weight my opinion as to the bikes desirability.

I enjoy my Bullet 500 very much and will never sell it but I do miss the rides where you thrash the gonads out of a bike, I wonder if Guerilla is that bike? For me the Triumph 400 still looks better.

With the new Himalayan, the upgraded version of the Scram was already planned and waiting in the wings... It should come as no surprise to anyone.... This said it looks a nice machine. The 400-600 Single/twin pot class of machine in their various guises seems to be the goldilocks spot for a lot of manufacturers... makes a change from the usual 4 cylinder screamer dunnit...? Ride safe...👍😎
