Hi Peter, that was a beautiful ride through incredible scenery. Perfect LE and Hunter territory ! That terrier is one of Ruby's friends. He was only trying to get your autograph ❤🐕 Cheers Peter, Garry & Ruby
Good morning to you. Back home late yesterday so just catching up with things here. Good to hear from you and pleased you enjoyed the ride and Ruby, seeing 'Nipper' 🐕.
I was totally surprised by the views on this route. It was literally, for me, out of a fantasy movie. Well, except for the tractor! To leave your home and see such a wonderful view…you are a very lucky rider and so was the Dutch couple. Here’s a working farm road that rivals the best known tourist areas. Thank you so much for sharing.
Hi Joe and I'm pleased you found this ride created that same feeling in you that it still does for me. You look at the map plan the route, but oh my the reality of it is just breathtaking. I do indeed count myself fortunate indeed to live within 30 miles of all this and yet the sea is within a 5 minutes walk. Best wishes, Peter
Evening Peter, I'm just in the midst of catching up with my viewing as I've been rather busy elsewhere for a couple of weeks. This one's of particular interest to me as it involves Kingsdale - the location of Kingsdale Master Cave, the scene of many hours of underground exploration for me back in the 80s and 90s. Interesting entrance via a partially buried 45 gallon drum! Interesting video taking me back to interesting times. 😊
Good evening Martin. Yes I thought you'd be very familiar with the caves here as a friend (he doesn't watch these 😳) has explored the caves and done some abseiling here with his daughter. Like you he's - or was, rather - doesn't do it now - very keen climber and potholer. The sequel to this is out tomorrow morning. Hope that injury of yours isn't too painful.
Hiya Peter, What a treat! That is one of my favorite roads, in that weather it doesn't get much better, Lovely, I cant wait for part 2, unless that vicious hound had its way with you. I do hope not. Take care and ride safe.
Thank you Billy and welcome to my little channel. So pleased you enjoyed this one. I try to get a new ride out each Thursday. Look forward to having you come along. Best wishes, Peter
Out on my Classic 350 this morning. Durham to Barnard Castle to Reeth to Richmond to Durham. Over the hills and far away. Bloody awesome ride. Open moors and twistys. Fantastic! Give it a go. 😂
Hello Peter, I've so enjoyed your last 2 videos. I've figured out how to watch RU-vid on my TV (I'm an old luddite) and although my TV is only 32", the scale of the landscape really was even more impressive. Much excitement in my world with an addition to our family, I now have a second "great great niece". It's several generations of girls in my gang, so I'm well looked after and almost house trained, although I do enjoy being a bit of a pest whenever possible🤣
Oh congratulations Paul. Very pleased for you all. Happy news indeed. You're a luddite - I don't actually have a television 😂.I suppose I should get one that can show these rides at a larger size than my little 10 inch screen. Away on holiday at present, but next Thursday's sequel will be out as usual.
Hello again dear friend and very moved that you were worried about me. Rest assured all's well with me. Pleased you enjoyed the ride and that ending ❤️
Hello Peter, what a fabulous route and perfect for the 350, I moved up to Scotland 20 odd years ago and although there is some fabulous scenery you just can’t beat the dry stone walled landscape of the North, all the best 👍
Thank you Mike. Scotland certainly has some absolutely stunning scenery, doesn't it. We travelled up from the South of England back last century (how odd that sounds) in our old vw camper. Up the east coast of England and across to Loch lomond, thence to Skye, Mull and iona. Perfect weather for the 4 weeks we were there and back then there weren't hired motor homes around so it was very peaceful. But you're right, there aren't the stone walls in Scotland perhaps and it's all on a really grand scale. Majestic perhaps I'd call it.
Morning Peter. I walked those hills as a youngster, in the gulf of time that’s nearly 40 years, but your beautifully filmed ride brought it all back. Methinks a 250 mile journey and a few days in a YHA place are in order.
Hello Dave and I really am just so pleased that this ride has rekindled memories from 40 years ago. Your idea of revisiting the area for a few days sounds just perfect. Peter
Hello Peter, I am unforgivably late watching this video, it did take a bout of sickness on my part to prevent me from tuning in earlier, all good now though. This has been an absolutely wonderful ride what an incredible landscape and perfect weather too! Thanks very much for the mention, i'm hoping to ride one of those routes you've planned for me this weekend coming weather permitting. The terrier at the end made me jump, wasn't expecting that 😀 Hope you're sabbatical has left you rested and refreshed. Have a great week, weather seems like it may be kind to us. 😄👍
Hello Dave. Still in Llandudno tonight but leaving for home tomorrow. Sorry to hear you've not been too well and hope you have now fully recovered. I'll be able to enjoy your video and reply more fully on Tuesday. Busy getting ready for Mike's visit when I return but I'm fairly well advanced with getting his room sorted. Hope your week goes well and we'll talk soon. Peter
Many, many thanks once again for putting up another brilliant ride, in an area I don't know too well. I rode this route today (Sunday 22nd) in glorious sunshine and the views were magnificent. Quite a few cyclists and walkers around which was nice to see, though how they coped with some of the gradients I'm not sure 😗! I would encourage everyone to do this great route, just be aware of some steep descents and gravel patches in places. Make sure to bring your camera, it's absolutely brilliant.
Wonderful Tom. So pleased you did the ride and in perfect weather. It's not a ride I'd ever have attempted on two wheels without a bit of powered assistance. Hope that little Terrier wasn't troublesome. Thank you for letting me know and giving encouragement to others to experience it for themselves. Peter
That is a spectacular road, definitely going on the list. You managed to capture the magnificence but it's one to be experienced first hand as you said. Thanks Peter
Good morning Mick. Yes it's certainly one I shall be riding again this summer. I'm away at present but I'll be catching up with your rides and others when I get a better Internet connection. I'm hoping your asthma is getting better. Take care. Peter
Hi Peter. Thanks for another one of my kind of roads, one tractor to deal with. I did the same one extra tooth on the drive sprocket of my CB500x and it reduced the engine revs on faster roads. I also found that I was having to change down to a lower gear on hills. That makes lanes like you ride a lot of gear changing. Thinking of going back to the original size sprocket when I replace the chain and sprockets soon.
Thank you Mike. Yes, most definitely one of my favourite sort of roads too. I think the extra tooth is an improvement for faster roads but so far I'm enjoying having the higher gearing on these roads too as first on the Hunter was really too low unless you were regularly riding in heavy traffic. Not something I do now 😊
Hi Peter, it was great to see the sunshine and shadows just before the terrier jumped out to greet you. We are having a cold wet spell with no sun for the past week. 🌧☔
Good evening Peter. Managed to watch this one on our Thursday evening. Usually it’s over a coffee on a Friday morning. What an amazing part of the country you live in. As far as quiet sealed lanes go, it’s quite unlike anything we have down here. You’ve left us on a bit of a cliffhanger with this episode haven’t you? I imagine we’ll all be coming back for the next instalment to see how your encounter with the little dog turns out😬. All the best, Roy.
Good morning Roy. Sorry for the delay in responding but I am actually away on holiday. However, Ainsworth Rider (James) rang me, rather worried that I hadn't answered my comments. He thought I was buried under my Hunters in the Hangar 😂. Rest assured all's well. We're quite a tight little community aren't we. This was just such a fantastic ride and I am so pleased to share it with you. Best wishes, Peter
Paused for a moment, I say that living at the farmhouse by the first gate must be wonderful in summer but maybe a bit bleak in winter. Lovely lane so far. Back to the tv for the rest..👍
Good evening Nick. James just rang me, worried that I hadn't replied to any comments. My apologies but I'm away on my holidays so was taking a bit of a break. However. Lovely of you to say how much you enjoyed this ride and I love the tintin reference ❤️
@@Lanes-Explorer5733 James and I were just concerned that everything was ok. Thought perhaps you were working on your election manifesto. Can just see you moving into No. 10..🤣🤣🤣 have a smashing holiday. 👍
@thesilverfoxtravels6653 Thank you. It's good to know you're both watching over me. No I'm very happy in my little Morecambe bungalow so no plans for number 10 🤣🤣🤣
