i also have a classmate in HS who’s a princess in their tribe. her father is a sultan. princesses exists up to now here in Ph esp in Mindanao. not sure why some Filos doesn’t know about it. maybe they need to learn more about our history. wag puro tiktok at kdrama. aral-aral din po ng ating Kasaysayan ;) it’s fun to learn and have more knowledge about our culture.
mtagal ng mron prince and princess s pnas.. s pnahon p ng ating mga ninuno sultan does really exist in the Philippines history.. ung iba kc puro socmed lng alam. kya di nla alam yan
Before the Spaniards came to the Philippines we used to have king(s) and queen(s) and they lived in Mindanao. Remember Lapu-Lapu? He was the leader of a tribe in cebu, the most powerful tribes are found in Mindanao(Islam tribes) were "they" or "We" used to call our "king" as "Sultan". History books in the Philippines should put emphasis on this part of our history it's sad that a lot of people don't know about this fact, it seems it's simply forgotten or unknown to the vast majority.
Sultan word came from TURKEY and not THE PHILIPPINES.. They are traders and not lumad or from the Philippines so they are not part of the ROYAL FAMILY in the PHILIPPINES the TRUE ROYAL FAMILY in the PHILIPPINES are the DATU, DATU are the head or the ROYAL BLOOD of THE PHILIPPINES.. Datu is a native word from the PHILIPPINES. Islam just came in 1500 before the SPANIARD we already have DATUS no MUSLIM or ISLAM in our country only after the colonial.
Well, my mom told me that I'm a princess everyday. "PURO KA NA LANG HILATA LETSE KA, NAKAKAHIYA NAMAN PO SAINYO KAMAHALAN!!!" P.S. Char, thank u po sa lahat ng natawa sa katamaran at kagagahan ko. Hehe, salamat po AHHAHAHAHHAHAH
Most of the Filipinos here says that they dont know that there are princesses and prince here in the philippines but when you are from Mindanao you'll know it🧡
It's funny how some people commenting here like instead of being proud, they cannot accept the fact that there are actually royal bloodline in Mindanao and so they're making fun of it. At least people from the south are keeping it real and strong. And im referring to the true south, not the ones Tagalog people call as such hahaha
It would've fine is he said 'THE PRINCESS OF MINDANAO/TRIBE ****' , hindi sya princess ng pilipinas. There nobility is exclusive only to their tribe, they wont and dont have power elsewhere. Kaya marami nagreact dahil mali yung thumbnail.
Her name is princess....but lemme get this straight, in the thumbnail its says "princess of the philippines" so dont blaim the others if they comment about philippines having a princess even though were a democratic country...she might have a royal blood but that was from before when sultans are still ruling the islands in the philippines... To make it clear we dont have royal families now maybe theyre just descendants of the royal families in the past....dont make this hard, if you guys still dont get this go study history again😥
Yes!! Galing lang sya sa kilalang pamilya which is mangudadatu but she's not literally a princess but a woman who came from a powerful family. Madaming ganyan sa Maguindanao eh..
@Poppy Min-Sinclair obviously there are some royal family in mindanao and all over the philippines but most of them are known from mindanao and visayas but they were not respected by the government because they created a democratic government and all of us know that it doesn’t work well if you know i what i mean though.......now I understand what the old man told me kaya hindi maayos ang demokrasya sa pilipinas dahil itoy ginawa ng taong nasa kamaynilaan o ngingilan habang ang mga ibang tribo ay hindi isina alang alang ang kanila soberanyang sinimulan/gobyerno tignan mo ang batas halos lahat pabor sa kriminal at hindi sa taong biktikima halimbawa ay sa muslim kung ikaw ay nanghasa dapat bitay agad o anumang karumaldumal na krimen ang parusa a bitay....sabi pa nya nakakalungkot na ang ibang tao mula sa sinsabing syudad ay napakaliit ng tingin sa mga katutubo na dati respetado napakababa ng tingin sa muslim na dati ginagalang ng mga hari at sultan mula sa ibang bansa tulad ng sultanatu ng jolo na ngayun pag nakakita tayu ng muslim tingin ay rebelede o terorista samantala kung bilangan lng ng taong nasa kulungan at ang basehan ay relihiyon sino ba ang mas marami sa tingin ko alam mo na bata ang sagot at sa tingin kodin ang pinakababa ay isa ang mga katutubo at ang pinakamataas ay ....di na nya sinagot at ngumiti lng sakin
When the chair turns out to be gold, you and Hero got ecstatically crazy..that was a good laugh. The tilapia boat, the lake, the "juvenile " mayor, and the dalagang Filipina princess you put into this video is highly enriching. Full of content. Kudos to your work!!!
@@really3201 it is supposed to refer to a group of people but since it was used by many of cringe people saying cringe statements, now it sounds cringe as well, lmao
Descendants of Royal families are actually all over the Philippines, not just in Mindanao. Some families especially in Mindanao might hold certain power over their respective areas or provinces. But i dont think they represent the Philippines anymore. The knowledge these families do have about prehistoric Philippines is priceless though.
@@templarknightschannel BOBO 500 YEARS NA AGO NA PONG NA COLONIZED ANG PILIPINAS U THINK MAY DESCENDANTS PA??, NA WE WERE UNDER THE SPANIARDS FOR 300 YEARS,
They are the relatives of the past sultanate in sulu.thats why luzon and visayas has no princess because they defeated by the spaniards and became slaves in 333years.mindanao never been defeated by any aggressors
I really appreciate this place for their kind and hospitality, that was Christmas Day of 2007, when we had carroling at the capitol with my Indonesian classmates, and sir Pax was the Congressman that time. He entertained us, and brought to the lake. Napaka approachable po nya.
Sultan/Datu and Bae/Potri (Queen/Princess) still exist in mindanao commonly in maranao tribes. It's a royal title inherited from the royal ancestors pass only to family members generation by generation. Inshort pure and real royal bloods.
"Commonly in maranao" how sure are you of that? Ang daming muslim tribes sa mindanao na nageexist pa rin ang mga datu at sultan not just particularly on your province thats too self claimer! They are the real royal Bloods/Family thats funny though but History tell itself 💅
Sultanate of Maguindanao and Sultanate of Sulu still exist po.. bago pa nagkaroon ng philippine government we do have our monarchy here in mindanao.. you know naman siguro si sultan kudarat. At ang family Mastura ngayon ang prominent clan here in Maguindanao which is direct descendant of Sultan Kudarat

Title should be: “The Royal Family from one of the Tribes in the Philippines”. FYI. This country is NOT under a monarchy. We are a democratic country ruled by a President elected by the people.
I dont see any problem with Bret , He just sharing his respect to different people here in Phils. Dont worry I know Bret take this as a positive experience that he got diffrent comments , ideas from different people... God bless Bret . I appreciate your blog , thank you for veing proud to our country
So much energy with your Kuya Hero and Beautiful wifey good company as always like real family.. Sultan Kudarat beautiful as a whole.😍😍😍 you did it right when the national anthem played..👍
Salute to you sir for acknowledging our rich historical and cultural heritage. Your thumbnail is just right. Philippines was a kingdom before the Spaniards came. And the bloodline of the royal families still exist until now. Royal blood remains regardless of the abolition of the system of government. Anytime any of the descendants is fit to rule.
I wonder why it isn’t being taught in our history class but spend hours of learning the history of other countries. I mean yes, I love world history subject and knew the importance of learning the history of other countries specifically Egypt, greece etc have something to do with our civilization and improvements of our today society. But I just hope things like this are also taught in school. Although I knew sultans were taught as well, however most of us think it is not existing anymore.
@@claudedealgerobelia9289 well I guess you didn’t understand and read the latter part of my comment.I never said that it wasn’t taught. What I was pertaining is that most of us don’t know it still exists.
Sa mga JUDGEMENTAL na tao dyan. Her nickname is Princess and she's the Congresswoman of Sultan Kudarat. Be careful of what you say towards other people. Magresearch nalang muna bago mag comment. To Bret, I like your videos. Thank you for showing Mindanao to the world. It's a beautiful place with kind and loving people. ☺
The way I look at that golden chair is made of a 24 carat gold leaf use to cover the surface of any wooden chair or anything they want to ornate it with gold. The Arabs are fond of using this gold leaf in most palaces not just in the furniture but also in the ceiling and other part of the house. The classic Italians furnitures are mostly using this and they're expert on this, that's why most of the palaces in the Middle East are decorated by the Italian designer and craftsmen.👌 👌
I've been traveling from South cotabato to North cotabato for my whole life but I still don't know were lutayan lake is? But this man explore it like his a local. Good job 👍👍👍

@@Kris2Chan that's because the Americans stripped off all their titles. Atleast during Spain since Spain is a monarchy, they have their status as nobility. Nung dumating ang mga Amerikano, they didn't like the idea of nobility kasi nga democracy daw so ayon, they stripped all their titles and ruling power. But I'm glad na they still exist in Mindanao.
Before King philip claimed in the history that he discovered Philippines and arrogantly and lyingly naming this country in behalf of his name " Philippines" It was named Maharlika before and the tribal Filipino has their own Queen and King and as well servants.
Maharlika is a group of elite Tagalog warriors not the old name of the Philippines. Also, Philip didn't even give a damn to this country so why would he be the one to name this?
I've been watching Kulas videos a lot and I noticed I haven't subscribed on your channel yet. Shame on me.. but bro your videos are so underrated, you deserve more credit. #Canada
Shedrick 24 FYI she’s came from a royal family’ she’s half Tausog/Maguindanon and only Mindanaons knows how rich she is’ at kung naguguluhan ka tumira ka sa mindanao ng makain mo yang sinabi mo’ malinaw naman na di kagaya ng Saudi it UK ang pinas na May naitatalaga tlgang Kung/Queen etc, at wla yan sa pinas right? But in our own tribe the Maguindanon meron kaming sariling tinatawag na Datu/ Sultanate at galing sa mga royal blood! Bakit royal blood? Kc sila yung mga ankan ng dati pang mga tao na maipluwensya bago pa dumating c Magellan sa pilipinas, Ahm marahil d enough ang explanations ko pero mag research kna Lang!!
That's how it is in Muslim Mindanao, still stucked in the "feudal ages"(in a sense) a lot are extemely rich(a lot of royal families) and a lot are extremely poor. Just imagine the rich people in the Middle East. Nothing against them though, I had a school mate before in manila who is actually a prince in their town in Mindanao, and he's even taking public transportation going to school, very humble guy.
@@landapbykivlan9662 Why? I've seen vlogs in middleeast involving super rich people there and they are just like this, gold stuff all around, riches are on full display and screaming "MILLIONS!" but still act like these stuff are nothing... you get what I mean, and never shy of exposing themselves.
Don't mind the ABS Media, just focus on featuring this beautiful place, we rarely get to see Sultan Kudarat & Lutayan Municipality in TV & tourism vlogs. Thank you Bret for making this video. 🙏
because it wasn't taught at most schools at all. I'm already a senior but mindanao's royal families weren't taught at all. even some people in mindanao doesn't really focus on royal families so it is not a big deal if we, filipino people from outside mindanao, don't know them. someone in the comments had the audacity to educate us and called us 'puro socmed' like was it really our fault school didn't bother to teach those? like move on, wala a tayo sa panahon ni kupong kupong.
@@booraycat7020 i support this one, i almost knew nothing about the culture, though my justification would be... only a fragment of the history of the Philippines was introduced back then around elementary years, and even in those times, the lessons were still focused around Lapu-lapu and the far history. World history and economics started around high school, so no wonder we barely had the thought about those.
wow! Were actually from there! we have ancestors there (like my great great grandfather) and my grandpa is native there in “buluan” & “south cotabato” and were kinda relative to Mangudadatu family 🤔 tho I didn’t grow up there, my grandpa used to tell us about this place when we were younger.

This was wickedly funny, two rough riders speculating on the gold in the furniture, like two gossip girls. And the lady had to whip out her phone to call the experts to make sure!
Until the time of President Ferdinand Marcos the Philippine Government acknowledges the royal family in the south. So the title of his vlog is correct. Mga kapwa Pinoy, please do your own research.
FUN FACT: Did you know that the filipino citizen was supposed to be called "Maharlikano and Maharlikana" it's so much better than "filipino" and our country is supposed to be "Maharlika" not "Philippines" but because our country was colonized by spanish, it was named Philippines, to honor King Philip (he's a spanish), sadly we didn't succeed on changing the country's name. No hate, spread love and stay safe!
Wrong, Philippines isn't even united before TF?! Thus, it is an archipelago with several inhabitants govern by monarchs such as Tundun, Huangdom of Ma-i, Huangdom of Caboloan, and more.
Maharlika is a Tagalog term for WARRIOR CLASS, and it exists in all ethnic tribes in Philippines with different terminology, for example: "Mardíkâ" in Kapampangan which means the warriors of commoners/freemen, and the "Bayáni" which means the warriors of nobility. Merdeka in Bisaya which is almost the same as in Kapampangan. That's why it is important to highlight the multi-cultural roots of the Filipinos, not only one tribe (Ketagalugan) since it can only create a lot of misinformation and misleading the people.
No I don't wanna be called a Maharlikano💀 the -o and -a is Spain's way of differing men and women. Precolonial Philippine never stresses the differences of man and woman, which is why a female ruler back then was normal in southeast Asia. My point is: I preferred being known as Filipino(neutral for both men and women) because c'mon, our heroes died proclaiming our country as Filipinas, what's more to change?
