3. The rubix cube is someone suppose to demonstrate his intelligence but anyone can do it. I've seen too movie use this trick to demonstrate something that it doesn't. I can do it under a minute and that's not even that fast. And I'm an idiot.
That's most definitely a dedicated cab driver plus that's his bread and bologna lol. I watched this movie but I don't remember the part where the cab driver stayed locked in on him like that. Actually the rubix cube guy didn't pay either lol..
@@playversetv3877 in 1983 min wage was $3.35 - in 2009 the min wage was at $7.25. only $4.00 difference for 40 years. At the very min wage should be $20.50 or politicians can get off their butt and treat inflation as a national security issue.
I love the "I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! I'm SORRY!", right after the "He should of paid you!" 🤣 At 5:05, the driver pulled a Grand Theft Auto scene. Wanted to mow him down. 😂 Great scene. Awesome movie this was.
The difference is that he solved it on the spot when internet access wasn't easy nor were there videos to watch. It was a LOT more impressive to solve this back then when nobody knew how to do it AND he was under time pressure with the taxi AND he was having someone in the hiring committee watch him. Today, even a 3-year-old could figure it out if you let them watch enough videos so I highly doubt you'll ever impress anyone aside from kids seeing it for the first time. If you think it was merely the fact that he just "solved a Rubik's puzzle" then you entirely missed the point of this scene. He demonstrated adaptability and intelligence under pressure after his practiced speech was ignored.
I remember watching this in theaters. I was so aggravated when he lost his scanner trying to board the BART train and I was just like oh my God you’ve gotta be kidding me!
@@ahemming06 at what point is it shown that the first guy paid for his ride? you think back then it'd cost 18 bucks to go a couple blocks? Was this a serious question?
I have a memory of solving one as a kid, maybe i was 8 or so... At 15 i solved it with a pair of plyers and a screwdriver and at 18 i memorized one of the solutions for it, a party-trick up my sleeve... Now im 45 and i solve one now and then... My favourite now is the 4x4...
Probably, and I think that he has a mind to figure it out. But even if he didn't, there are tutorials they could have him watch and he would still know how to solve it that way!
There's a "beginner's method" that's pretty easy to learn - you can solve it in a minute or two with practice. You can solve it in less than twenty seconds with consistent practice and memorizing a bunch of algorithms. I can do it in about a minute, which is not crazy fast, but fast enough to impress most people.
@@frantz4318Bro is so privilidged, he thinks you cant have a phone and be homeless, you just sneak into Starbucks or somethin to charge it, or are bouncing around from house to house
Even now probably only a handful of people can actually figure it out. Everyone else is just copying the answer. Memorising and executing algorithm isn't the same as actually solving.
go for what you want or need but never ever cheat to get it, he knew he didnt have cab fare so his attempt at interacting should have been done another time.
When I was a kid, I have 10 million siblings and one of my oldest siblings was given a Rubik’s cube fiddle with it for a while, never could figure it out got tired of it pass it onto the next kid who just kept fiddling with it kept fiddling with it I finally got my hands on it, and I would just mess with it basically like a fidget spinner, and after six months of just messing with iteventually I got it solved. Haven’t got a clue. I just kept spinning and eventually it got there.
it was some type of medic image machine he was selling (he got a lot of those machines). He put all of his money into that ''business'' that result in a completely financial crisis for him. The entire movie is based in that crisis he has to face after that wrong move he made with his savings.
It's his. You'll see he placed it in the front seat in the beginning. It's a machine he invested in to re-sell for profit. He has a hard time selling them because he has about a dozen of them, and buyers are hard to find. That's why you see him carry one in almost all the scenes.
This is America... this is NOT the pursuit of happiness. How can you drive people to desperation that they have to screw over other people (steal from taxi driver) just to survive?!
In 1982, when I was 15 years old, I learned the methods to solve the Rubix Cube. Often, on the public train ride to school, I would have someone mix the cube, and I would solve it quickly. I would always solve it in under 2 minutes Now, I can see that this character is not actually solving the Rubix Cube. This scene, as well as the rest of the movie, is trying to promote anti-white propaganda. It tries to falsely establish the black man's superiority over the white man. In expanding on this topic, the men who invented and manufactured the original Rubix Cube were white men. Also, the men that developed the methods for solving the Rubix Cube were white men. In 1982, I had an original Rubix Cube, that was Made in USA, and learned the methods for solving it, from a white man, that published a book with his methods. Now, this particular scene, in this movie, falsely portrays the relation between the white man and the black man. In reality, the white man would have been solving the Rubix Cube, and the black man, if he was paying attention, would have been learning from the white man.
So in real life, Chris never shared a cab with anyone at Dean Witter, and he never solved a rubiks cube. The only true part in this that Chris admitted to was that he ran away from the cab driver to avoid paying which I think none of us are surprised by.
@@amunra4015 In my real life, in 1982, while I was riding the public train, I had dozens of black men see me solve the Rubix Cube, in less than 2 minutes. Not one of them could solve it. On the other hand, I had entered into contests with other white young men, that could solve the Rubix Cube. Several of them could solve it under 2 minutes. In 1982, I never met one black man that could solve the Rubix Cube. The whole nature of anti-white propaganda is to distract the white man from his history, and discredit him from his accomplishments. Here we are in 2024. The anti-White propoghanda has gotten to the level, where they want to discredit the white man from all the industrialization that was accomplished in the United States, and Europe, in the past 200 years. Then they want to displace white men from positions of authority in our civilization., The civilization was established, through 200 years of planning, development, and industrialization by the White men. Now, they want to discredit the white man, disrupt him, and destabilize him. Then, they want to give credit falsely, to the black man for the planning, development, and industrialization of the United States of America, and of Europe. Did the black men start and grow General Motors, Ford Motor Company, Chrysler, Boeing, John Deere, Caterpillar, General Electric, or Tesla, for some examples? No. Did the blacks start any manufacturing companies, in any major industry, in the World? No. Here we are in 2024. All that anti-white propaganda is unfounded. When it results in White men being displaced from positions of authority, so that black men can be promoted into those positions, then our society has reached a level of counter productivity. That is exactly what has happened in the United States of America over the past 40 years. It only makes sense that the United States of America has increased it debt, from about Zero to over 30 trillion, over the past 40 years. Any white man that is healthy, will promote the other white men to be industrious. Also, any white man that is healthy, will encourage other white men to take leadership roles. As the percentage of white men in leadership roles in the United States of America increases, the conditions in the United States of America will improve.
The rubix cube scene is stupid. Its mostly memory and anyone can learn it. I might not be the fastest but I can do it under a minute. It doesn't mean anything; people think you are smart if you can do it but anyone can.
You're probably following the algorithm of someone who already solved it. I can tell you're young. All it takes is memorization today because you're just following the steps of someone who already solved it. Which is different from someone who actually solved it on their own.
So Will tries to COME BACK FROM HIS FAMOUS SLAP? I started blocking however I am suspect if his morality is in question. Now? He’s stubborn, unruly, arrogant and demonstrates his unacceptable contempt is the opposite of WOKE! 🤢🤮
