I was once a half elf ranger. chaotic evil. My party needed to be guided through a hedge maze, so I use my badger familiar to guide I us through, and I roll a natural twenty. I'm the center was a giant tower, a dragon sleeping on the top. One of the youngest people at the table thought it was a good idea to wake up the dragon and get us captured. I ended up turning on my party and the middle schoolers at the table get upset while us older members of the group laugh our asses off. "well, maybe you shouldn't pull a Leeroy Jenkins and wake up a giant fucking dragon."

45 minutes in: Emile's style of D&D playing is almost exactly the same as mine. More focused on being funny and flashy, attacked and threatened by allies as a result, and finding all possible ways to help/contribute but getting screwed over by the dice. The preemptive laughter every time his turn comes around only solidifies it.

I have fond memories of DnD. My favorite moment was when my friend was -8 and in mortal danger, and my other friend, who was the bard and could heal, decided to bust out the bongos, rolled a critical, and proceeded to give the best bongo performance anyone has ever seen

Peyton Pearce in "call of the wild" the players seriously did their best throughout the campaign, but there were plenty of hilarious moments each episode. I strongly recommend giving it a try.

Jon asking Mal if she can change her gender on the fly or if she's locked in actually reminds me of a DnD game I was a part of a few months ago. Our group ended up in this shady city in the middle of a festival. Everyone who participated--particularly those characters who drank--all woke up the next morning with something weird having happened to each of them. My female character woke up as a dude. One of our mages tried to dispel it only to discover it was basically a god-level spell. It would wear off after our next long rest, which we didn't get to for two weeks. Poor Raven...so awkward for her.

I don't know if I'm the only one, but with the battles I just imagine, like when Emile tried too do the helm splitter and failed while Tim was recording him fail. Also when Jon stuck the dagger in the skeleton's mouth I just imagined him nonchalantly placing the dagger in it's mouth.

It's actually not a pun. When TRG played Wheel of Fortune, Chugga was hilariously bad at guessing the puzzles. For example, one puzzle answer was "Metropolitan Museum of Art". Chugga guessed "Metropolitan Mutant of Ark", and it basically broke Jon. Met Mutark is basically a shortened form of that. Chugga actually has a bit of a theme of naming his D&D characters after Wheel of Fortune guesses - back when Stephen first showed them D&D (it wasn't recorded besides a few bits and pieces on the vlog) he called his character "Calibrary", after one guess he did where the solution was "Celebrity Chef Paula Deen" and he guessed "Calibrary Cuff Paula Deen".

I love the improvised world building concept! Definitely going to use that in the future... I think in 5e Intimidation is a charisma ability check, not strength, though... right?

Quite possibly. I didn't have any books (DMG, PHB, etc) with me, so I went with my gut on most things. At some point I realized some of the info was on the DM screen, so I referenced that occasionally.

One can really see that they trust each other..! Like Emile's comment, he knew that Masae would laugh rather to slap him and run home in tears. Jon thought Emile went too far and sided with Masae just in case.

I know it's all moot given that the big bad bought it shortly afterward, but it occurs to me that the boss summoned a third skeleton, and it never entered the initiative queue. So it basically just stood there watching as the boss got murdered.

Besides some rules infractions that honestly don't matter if it's a one-shot for laughs, I really enjoyed this. Always enjoy watching how others enjoy D&D, and this is a very relaxed version of the game that's refreshing to see.
