I'm not in ophthalmology (good thing too, because took me three tries to even spell it after which I gave up and looked it up, haha... and now I'm wondering, why isn't optometry spelled ophthalmetry?), but I once wanted to be one, and one thing I am is a hypochondriac so I like to worry about my eyesight (and everything else) (plus I'm very near-sighted in one eye and have had a few random symptoms with it off and on that I'm never sure what to make of) (I'm about as obsessed with eyesight as it's possible to be without being an eye doctor, haha), so I think that's how I happened upon your channel a little while ago. And I'm glad I did, because I find your videos fascinating. Also, you have a very calming voice and a great friendly manner (as well as being very skilled, knowledgeable, and having a passion for the subject), which I think are characteristics whose importance can't be overemphasized! I can tell you're a wonderful eye doctor!
Zach, is there any way you can make a video of what factors you take into mind when deciding NOT to operate on a patient (or deferring surgery). Sometimes, this is much more difficult than listing a patient for surgery, and I’ve seen senior oculoplastics surgeons do this so skilfully (however keen the patient), especially when operating can have disastrous consequences.
