I know this is actually more often than not the exception rather than the norm but apart from the obvious quality product of this series and your other videos I have to applaud your meticulous listing of all sources you really do rarely find that

Thank you! Although it may slow down the videomaking process, I think maintaining a high standard for research and sourcing is really important for these types of educational videos

amazing video as always! I'm currently working on a hoi4 mod that takes place during the interwar period and this series has been a great help!

@@jsmedia-ww6gb the mod takes place 2 days after ww1 ended, right in the middle of the russian civil war, you're gonna be able to play as multiple different factions in the war including the bolsheviks, the greens, separatist movements, the siberian whites, and the southern whites

@@Stellar_Politics Is that what you call denialism now? MLs and Fascists on Bitchute all sound the same, just like Stalin you'd sacrifice the lives of peasants if it meant advancing your goals of industry or what have you. I hope you're not going to deny that he exported grain during a famine like the Tsar's did for their own goals. Honestly just read economics or grow a heart

Who were the "United SDs"? Was that the Mezhraiontsy?
@nojrants
@nojrants 6 месяцев назад
Yes, the 10 delegates shown at the end refer to them. More specifically, the Mezhraiontsy group combined with other internationalists at the Congress, and began to call themselves the "United Social-Democrats", as their goal was to spur a unification of the various left SD factions. Some Mezhraiontsy affiliates appear to have also been within the 73 "Non-Factional" delegation. Confusingly, after this Congress the Mensheviks formally adopted the name "RSDLP (United)", meaning they could also be called the "United SDs". Also, while Mezhraiontsy mostly was absorbed into the Bolsheviks, the remnants that refused called themselves the "United SD Internationalists", which eventually became the RSDLP(i) as shown in the next video. Therefore, there's at least three different groups here who sought to be called the "United SDs" in 1917.

@hieronymusbutts7349
@hieronymusbutts7349 9 месяцев назад
It's hard not to have increasingly anti-bolshevik biases the more you learn about how ridiculous the party was. But yeah, it's better to present information neutrally and let the listener draw their own conclusions.
@hlary8320

shocking that the democratic centralist in chief isn't going to be shown in the best light in a series about Russian democracy lol
@georgeniceguy3934
@georgeniceguy3934 9 месяцев назад
@@hieronymusbutts7349 Ye, it's hard not to have biases i get it, but to be historic/scientific you gotta let them go. Like have you noticed how Noj doesn't mention that Lenin's defeatists are a part of internationalists? He intentionally tries to distinguish them to show that the mensheviks were good and bolsheviks were bad, even though Martov was not an internationalis at the begining of the war unlike Lenin. He also tries to make the viewer believe that bolsheviks and Lenin were opposed to peace without annexation and contribution and only wanted the defeat of their government no matter what, unlike mensheviks which is simply not true.
@georgeniceguy3934
@georgeniceguy3934 9 месяцев назад
@@hlary8320 it's not about showing something in good or bad light, it's a about personal biases that you don't control, but which control you. If you are showing something in good OR bad light you already failed to be unbiased.

@@georgeniceguy3934 I'll be honest, I generally don't trust RU-vid for specific historical details, but to try and fill in the gaps of my historical ignorance with some broad strokes. I can't say I noticed these things because I don't know enough details about it.
