This morning I saw the news about how Russia's banking system is freaking out over these new sanctions, and Moscow replied by ending trade in dollars. That was a severe shock to Russian finances, making this one of the worst days for the Russian stock exchange. It was an absolute cliff. I haven't checked to see if there has been any recovery, but it just goes to show that Russia's ship is continuing to sink. Edit: just checked, seems the the Moscow exchange's website is still down. Not a great sign!

I need to be honest. I have been a staunch supporter of Ukraine since the very beginning of the war with my money, with my time, with my voice, and with every bone in my body. Two and a half years ago I didn’t know much about Ukraine, but I have grown to love them. I love their courage, I love their passion, I love their heart, I love their compassion, and I love their resiliency. I have become completely emotionally invested with them. I get upset and depressed when things go wrong, and I was going to say I feel joy when things go well, but “joy” isn’t the right word. I’m not sure what I would call it, maybe something between relief and hope is more appropriate. I’m pretty sure I have watched every single video that Jake has released on Ukraine. At one point I was probably watching 5 or 6 separate channels covering the war, but I had to quit watching most of the other channels. I was starting to become bitter and angry about some of the things that were being said. Which in turn started making me feel guilty for feeling that way and I really struggled internally with this. This will make more sense to Americans but bear with me for a second and I’ll bring back around. I am a 40 year old man that has lived in Oklahoma my entire life and has worked in the oil industry for most of my adult life. I am also a Democrat, which means almost everyone in my life are Republicans. My family, my coworkers, and my friends. Unfortunately some of them have gone red pill and listen to people like Tucker Carlson, Elon Musk, and Donald Trump. It would be a massive understatement to say a lot of these relationships have been severely damaged the last couple of years because of my unwavering support of Ukraine. Especially in the last 9 months or so when Republicans were blocking aid to Ukraine. I have had multiple spirited disagreements with friends and family that have taken a serious toll on our relationships. My older brother that I shared a bedroom with for 16 years won’t talk to me because of our disagreement on Ukraine. I know I’m not alone either. The way the political system works in America it doesn’t matter if the majority of Americans support Ukraine, it only takes 1 or 2 people like Mike Johnson or Donald Trump to block the whole thing. This one issue was destroying and dividing us in a way that I have never seen before. Democrats were willing to anything to support Ukraine. For 2 months Senators negotiated a bipartisan bill in good faith to reform immigration and border security because that’s what Republicans said they needed first before passing it. Republicans knew they could get anything they wanted because we were so desperate to fund Ukraine, and they did just that. They accomplished what Republicans had been trying to do for half a century, but at the last minute Trump and Johnson killed it strictly for political reasons. Despite many attempts through other avenues it wasn’t happening. I know that was long but here’s where I’m going to connect the dots. So there were multiple RU-vid channels that supported Ukraine that will remain nameless that began doing things like the post you showed in your video criticizing Joe Biden. I don’t mind criticism and an open dialogue, but as we started going 5 or 6 months without an aid package I started hearing some of these creators say some pretty horrible things about America and Joe Biden. Say things like Joe Biden has failed Ukraine, that if it was Joe Biden and America’s fault that Ukraine hasn’t already won the war, and other really despicable things. Really biting the hand that feeds you. I’m not going to say the response was perfect but don’t forget this was suppose to be a 3 day war. Joe Biden was the only one that came out days before saying Putin had made up his mind and is going to invade Ukraine. Everyone said he was a fear monger including Zelensky and Putin, but Biden was right. Biden was then able to quickly get the right weapons into Kyiv like the Javelin’s and stingers to blunt the first attack and push the Russians out of Kyiv. If they would have spent days arguing about artillery and air defense it would have been too late. Biden was then able to get a fractured NATO to reunite and get Ukraine what they needed to keep pushing Russia back. He was able to keep NATO’s resolve together in the face of skyrocketing fuel prices, including flooding the market with America’s strategic reserves. He was able to pass massive aid bills before Republicans took the majority because he knew they were going to do what they did. Of course looking back it’s easy to say we could have moved heavier weapons in quicker, but this was the first land war in Europe in over 80 years and the first that had a real possibility of escalating into a NATO bs Russia conflict. Nobody knew Russia’s military was that incompetent. My biggest problem with these content creators bashing Biden and America despite the massive support we’ve already given, but because I truly believe Democrats were doing everything they could. We can’t pass a vote without Mike Johnson because it’s a Democracy. I’m not trying to compare anyone to Ukraine, but we have sacrificed a lot to try and Ukraine every thing it needs. At the same time I was listening to people who we have already given over $100 billion in weapons to bashing Biden and America our country was being torn apart trying to do more. I remember one particular day I was trying to get my brother who stopped talking to me because of Ukraine aid, I watched a video of a creator on the other side of the world bashing us. There are so many people who love Ukraine and will do anything we can, including ruining relationships with families in friends, but politics is messy and frustrating. I know it’s hard for them, much more difficult than for us Americans. I just think sometimes people just take the low hanging fruit and blame Biden and America for everything. I also think people forget how much Biden did in the beginning, the courage he showed by standing on an island and say Russia has already decided to invade and stuck to his guns when everyone else said he was crazy. If Donald Trump or anyone else was it the Oval Office there’s a good chance Zelensky wouldn’t be in that chair right now. I’m still 100% committed to Ukraine, even if the rest of my family stopped talking to me too. I just think people need to be careful about biting the hand that feeds you and try and understand this is complicated. It’s easy to say what Biden should do when you’re not the o e sitting in the Oval Office. I also don’t think we should lose sight of the fact that the odds of being where we are today were pretty slim if you asked what the chances for Ukraine were in this war on the first night of the war. Our western politicans have got a difficult job since the Russian trrrorist regime invaded Ukraine and it's easy for us to say that they have done to little to slow. But if we don't menthioned the egoistic Donald I think they have done their best. Of course in democracies it's difficulg when ordinary people without the needed knowledge of the Russian history are pushing for less money to militarian investments it's not easy for politicans who are dependent of to be reelected to have the needed investments in their countries defence, but after the invasion of Ukraine I think most people have given the right support for their politicans and most politicans have taken the signals both in supporg of Ukraine in the first hand and building out thekr defence as fast as possible in a serious way as a good no two. I'm proud of the people with highly support in the right way in these difficult times. And our politicans couldn't play with the world piece in a way against a nuclear war. We are nog complete safe before we have seen the results after the Putin regime is falling aparte and who are dealing with their nuclear weapons but the serious politicans in the west have convinced me. The biggest threat in my mind is a Donald who are not the man he was 10 years ago, and I hope the mojority of the people in the US will understand that before the presidental election in November.
