I just recently found your channel, and after every video, I leave thinking the same things. Your kindness and customer service skill are second to none. You are a fast efficient worker who can jump on any piece of equipment and run it safely and use good sense. You always take care of what you do to not damage other people’s equipment. I heard you say on another video that you were going to college too. Your dad has to be a proud parent because IMHO you are rock star.

Thanks for the video Trent, as well as your insight to your Landoll trailer. You have some fine equipment there, and use it to the full advantage of its capabilities. It's very refreshing to see your attitude and actions towards your customers. Truly a sign that you care, and are willing to go the extra step or two it takes to help them in what must be a very trying time for them, especially as they're traveling and far from home. I can image other operators muttering under their breath about, having to boost the car a second time. You took it in stride, well done sir! I noticed you give a lot of forethought to each job you tackle, and work to get it done smoothly and completing the job in a timely manner without undue stress on the customer or your equipment. Thanks again Trent stay cool man looking forward to viewing more videos you produce. Peace...................... Jay

PS: I don't think I'd mind cyclists as much if they had the same rules...like being insured against at _least_ injury. And actually obeying the road laws. And getting fines when they break them. And inspections to ensure their bike is safe to ride. But until all that happens - I have no time for them at all.

Yw3a, Exactly Such a shame that some good "Shows" were ruined byt the producer's need to over dramatize and create fake situations - which were obviously fake. Real life doesn't always have drama, especially in work-a-day situations like this. Trent - You could be compared to the UP 4014 - The best PR your Father's company could have.

Bicyclists suck. As you said, they want the same respect as cars then blow red lights and stop signs. They also passed you knowing you were going to have to pass them again. I swear, they have a death wish playing like that with semis. Not all drivers are as good as you.

I agree about the bicyclists. They want to ride on the road but a lot of them don't want to follow the rules of the road. It's terrible around where I live. They blow through stop signs all the time and ride two or more abreast. They also ride in really dicey places (narrow roads, blind hills, blind corners).
@leebarnes655
@leebarnes655 6 лет назад
When they brought the olympic training center to colorado springs I got to witness a grand spectacle one day. About a thousand riding three abreast just shut down the entire traffic flow as they ignored all stop lights and never broke the chain about a mile long. Needless to say this only happened once and I got to see it. Thankfully I wasn't going that way on that day. Self entitlement has no compromise it seems and the result spoke volumes about the inner pedalist that day. Someone got pulled up onto the carpet and then got a real earful of bad words tossed at them. All further 'ride ins' have been indefinitely postponed, no need drop by and pick up your number.
@colemanerik
@colemanerik 6 лет назад
Where I live we have TONS of bike paths made specifically so the bikes don't have to ride on dangerous roads. They won't use them and want to ride on roads with no shoulder and complain when cars and trucks get too close as they try to pass. They even fought for a bike lane to be put in on one road but still just ride in the road instead of the lane made for them a couple feet to their right. I think it's funny how they buy the shirts with sponsors printed on them to look cool but are not sponsored.

I'm a cyclist and Trent's 100% on point about bicyclists. In Seattle, on days I'm riding my bike into work, I totally get shit (and almost into fights) by other cyclists for not blowing through signs, lights and construction flaggers. As for the white line riding, I'm mostly a mountain biker, so I'll hug the gravel side of the road and give as much space as possible whereas other cyclists who've never ridden dirt freak out if the shoulder has any debris on it. As a bicyclist, I feel your pain and believe me, that shit drives even the responsible cyclists nuts too.

When there is room to straighten out safely; straighten out completely every time before starting to back up and the steering wheel hardly has to move at all. I think this practice also improves the ability to cut the trailer into the tightest spaces, drivers side, blind side, or parallel parking.. Be safe.

after watching a few of rons videos, i started playing a little game called guess the plan. may not be completely right, all the time, but its fun and shows how differently professionals approach things. i know this video is old, but after seeing the underside of the front, my approach wouldve been frame chains to the pockets under the steer carriage. 2 sturdy points that controls the veer angle keeping a straight pull, though it is a fair ways in there and possibly out of reach once its up on the trailer.

I wish I could upload a photo on the comments here. The bus company I used to work for had a landoll trailer, and we got a double decker bus on it... that’s 14’6 tall, and weighs 13.2 tons. Not strictly legal, because it’s over height, but we had no other tow truck available at the time. It did sway around a little...

I've done this more times than I care to remember... Pulling a Landoll for a towing outfit never worked out for me. Too much sitting around waiting for someone to break down. The transport outfits will keep you busy. Everytime I moved a diesel pusher, the customer refused to let me remove the mudflap. I would explain how it would get destroyed. They said they didn't care cause it was going to get billed to the insurance anyways..... ok.....

Hi Trent nice video, i'm enjoying your channel a lot since i first found it a few weeks ago. I would like to give you some advice that i learned the hard way, while you are pulling a vehicle up on the bed of a Truck or Trailer have someone sit in that vehicle to press the brakes in case in case something goes wrong. A few months ago i had the hook rip of the end of the winch cable while pulling a car up on the bed of the truck i'm driving, sending it rolling across two lanes of unlimited German autobahn and into the middle guardrail luckily it happend in the middle of the night with no traffic and nobody was hurt, since then i always have someone in the car (myself a coworker or even the customer if he is comfortable with it) Be save out there Greetings from germany

Getting back to the height and permit process, are tows when recovering the vehicle from the location of crash or breakdown excempt from needing an oversize (height) permit? Because in reality, you don't know how tall a vehicle is until you arrive at the scene, so how can you get a permit for that? Besides, if it is to be removed form a crash site or site of breakdown. you can't sit there, waiting for a permit to issued, when the road needs to be cleared, right? So is the initial recovery / tow allowed without special permits, or how does that process work?

on that remote. hitting the stop, red button is not enough, though better. what would be better, is when you turn it on, from an off state, it would let out a loud beep, so then if you rolled over on it on the ground, you would know, you turned it back on under you.

Hmmm... an RV that won't stay running, and a car with a dead battery. Not a good position to be in. I'm surprised that she shut off the car only seconds after you boosted it.... Well, if they are driving the car to Yuma, it'll be fully charged again by the time they get over there. What do you figure your tare weight is with that tractor and Landoll ?

Bikes are allowed four feet called wiggle room on the side of the road . But I've seen them riding down the center of the road center fingering you if you blow the horn for their safety. I once followed a biker and his crew for a mile trying to get around the group leader. He made it difficult for me and I had great difficulty missing his $ 1000.00 I-Phone when it dropped onto the pavement before me. That's called " When the tire hits the phone ".

I also agree that bikers sometimes don’t understand that they also must adhere to the laws of the road or just don’t give a rats ass about them. I live in rural Northern California and they have those bike runs up here and every year someone gets either hurt or killed! I feel for truck drivers because of the dangers of striking a biker and the emotional distress it causes. Stay safe Trent and keep the videos coming.
