Νομος (nomos) means "law", but only by extension from its core meaning of "habitual practice", "social norm" or "cultural custom". To the best of my knowledge, the word αντινομία (antinomia) is first used in Euclidean logic meaning "contradiction", particularly in the context of what we now call "proof by contradiction". Over time, it began to be used to mean any belief or philosophy in direct contradiction to normative cultural beliefs, ie "counter-cultural". It's use in Christian theology stems from this use, but is not the only usage of the word.
