These recent games make me want to hang my head. This is the most depressing thing I've witnessed as a Sabres fan. I can't even laugh because I've been too depressed.

I'm so very sorry you have to deal with this. As a Devils fan, I understand only a little bit with what you're going through. We went 11 straight home games without winning one this season. However I can't imagine what the Sabres are doing to you guys mentally and emotionally. You guys deserve better and we all know who's to blame for this. I was there in 99, spent an obscene amount of money to get tickets to the first two finals home games and it was beyond amazing, the atmosphere, the excitement in the city and in the arena was something you can’t put into words. I’m 49 years old now and sometimes it still feels like yesterday, it’s the reason why I remain a passionate sabers fan to this day. What made it so special was they really weren’t supposed to be there, it was a team of selfless players, a team that had no concept of the word quit, a team that had endless grit but only had one elite star player. Of course when that one player happens to be the greatest goalie to ever have played the game and one of the greatest players to have laced up the skates period it’s truly amazing what can happen. I know that right now, more than at any time over these past ten years the Sabres are a dumpster fire that got hit by a train wreck and there doesn’t seem like there is any end in sight but I also remember how great this team can be. As the most loyal and passionate fans in the NHL we deserve so much more, so much better than what we’ve had to endure over the last decade, but we are loyal and we are passionate and we are Sabres fans for better or worse. I was there when they gave us one of the greatest Stanley cup finals in league history and I’m here now that they gave us one of the worst teams in league history. While I don’t know how or when, I do know that someday the Sabres will get back to the team that surprises us all and does something great, it’s happened before and it will happen again.

As an Avs fan, I can kind've understand your pain. That 48 point season was absolutely brutal. And they weren't good for around 10 years. I hope the Sabres can get a good GM like Sakic to turn this team around. I much prefer your happy videos over your sad ones.

I remember feeling this way too at points the Oilers are a huge part of my life and seeing them get annihilated night after night hurt so badly, what got me through it was mostly just the memories of teams past and hoping to someday see another playoff run

I feel your pain, boy do I feel that pain. Been watching the game since the 1950's, and I've never seen anything like it. As a kid I was a Leaf fan and managed to see a couple of games at Maple Leaf Gardens every year, and thank God they are good this year for they fill the void. The Sabres are my true love, but alas, at my age, I feel the team will never reach the promised land in my lifetime. My condolences young lady.

Hi Melody, I have been a Colorado Avalanche fan since I was a child. The 2016-17 season was one of the most embarrassing seasons I have watched. The Avs were free points. But I never gave up on my team. I feel your pain. But you guys have potential. Don't give up!

As a Leafs fan who grew up outside toronto, I empathize. Your whole spirit is baked into the sports teams you cheer for. There's no end in sight and it's soul-crushing. I remember getting my heart broken by Jason Blake and Vesa Toskala, and never thinking that the team I cheer for would be good. It drove me out of the whole sport for years, I couldn't take it anymore. Shit sucks. I hope the Sabres get their shit together, there are too many devoted fans for the team to get beat this bad. But if the awful Leafs can do it, I think the historically awful Sabres can do it too.

being a die-hard Leafs fan, I totally relate.. in my 40ish years of following the team, they've only ever won 2 rounds once.. and were totally robbed that season by the League fully committing to endorsing the success of Gretzky selling hockey in California.. and stuff like witnessing Vegas make it to the Cup final their inaugural season.. another tough pill to swallow, makes me question the legitimacy of the league, afterall, its more of a business than honest competition.. all I can say or feel, is that, if the Leafs do ever win in my lifetime, I'm sure I would out pour with emoition, cry like a baby, and the moment will be that much more gratifying, the savory *chef's kiss* but this may never occur.. the way its going, i have little belief, in my lifetime, will i ever witness ever a finals appearance... has there ever been a league where a team with the fan support they have, have really nothing to base it on, since the advent of colour television.. sorry to ramble on selfishly about my situation.. its just the pits, never healing wound

Personally I think it is extremely admirable that you have this much passion and such a young age rock into female or not most people nowadays don’t seem capable of having passion for anything other than Insta snap or chat face or whatever they call it now. So for you to have the passion you do for a team that to be quite frank doesn’t deserve it is incredible.

Hang in there Melody. I’m a lot older than you. I’ve been a Leaf fan all my life and I always will be . It has been soul crushing many times. A few years back they started yet another “rebuild “ , got lucky in the draft and now they aren’t bad to watch. The Sabres turn will come.

This video describes how I felt when the Flyers got outscored 22-6 in their last four games against the Rangers. I was at both of the last 2. They gave New York 6-0 leads in 3 of those 4 games too!

As a Red Wings fan I feel your pain. Last season we set the worst record in the salary cap era and had a -132 goal differential. Then we get booted down to 4th overall in the draft lottery and watched the Rangers get the top pick with 46 more points.

I feel for Sabres fans. During an already depressing time, if I’m having a bad day and (my team) the Devils win, it can turn my day around. But when they lose, it just drives it home. I know my team has sucked for a while too but I can’t imagine the toll this consistency takes

First of all MM, I doubt even one viewer in a thousand enjoys seeing you unhappy. I'm stuck like you, I can't switch. I tried liking the Rangers and a couple other teams but it's like drinking cherry coke and pretending it tastes good. I've been a fan since Nov `76, longer than you've been alive. It's pretty depressing knowing I'll probably die and never even see the Sabres get to the conference finals again, let alone see them play in the cup finals. Well if it happens 25 or 30 years from now (and the team is still in Buffalo), give a cheer for me. As you say, our identity is tied up with the team, and it's soul-crushing.

That makes perfect sense to me. I never understood how fans can "quit" their team as a true fan sticks with their team through the good and the bad... and the really bad. Don't quit the Sabers just endure and eventually they'll be good... someday.

It's amazing to realize that the Sabres were a .500 team before this nightmare losing streak. It's mind boggling. Not just because of the losing, but the total lack of pride and integrity being shown by this team. If you're a Taylor Hall, and you want out, what do you think the way you're playing does for your trade value? There are teams who are hearing that the Sabres want a first round pick for him and saying "Um. No thanks". Hall is not the only problem with this team (by a long shot), but a guy with his talent, and salary, looking totally lost and ineffective out there is shocking. He's completely switched off, and I'm not sure that a team with Stanley Cup aspirations would want his toxicity on their team. My sympathies to you Melody. I'm a long suffering Leaf fan (who has to hear "1967" every single frickin' day), so I feel your pain. We love the teams we love. Nothing we can do...but continue to suffer.

Melody, take heart! Contrary to popular belief, the Sabres are not the worst team ever. That title actually belongs to the 1921-1922 Hamilton Tigers but in the modern era, it belongs to the 1974-75 Washington Capitals, with dishonorable mentions to 80-81 Jets and 94-95 Senators. The current NHL record for longest losing streak is 30 games which was set by the 1980-1981 Winnipeg Jets. Things will change for the better. Take some advice from someone who has been a life long Leafs fan. I have seen the highs and lows. Our Cup drought has lasted longer than the Sabres have been in the NHL. We survived Harold Ballard. We survived Burke/Wilson. We survived the 93 no call on Gretzky that robbed the Leafs of a trip to the Stanley cup against Montreal. Here we are, first in the North and looking like a contender. Sometimes situations that appear on the surface to be insurmountable, can often be turned around surprisingly quick. The Leafs bottomed out in 2014-2015 and earned a first overall pick which ended up being Austin Matthews. The Sabres have a great line up on paper. At some point, that talent will come through. It is just a matter of time.

I saw the Sabres with a 3 -0 lead and figured they were going to snap their losing streak. Then I just saw the score and was just like.. wow. This does really suck bad. This coming from a lifelong Red Wings fan.
