Pursuing their dreams and putting professional skills and teamwork to the test, a group of close friends seek to turn time back and pioneer unexplored corners of the deep wilderness on skis.
The Sacred Grounds short film series, presented by MARKER, takes the cast from their backyard of the southern Coast Range of BC, to the far reaches of the Northern BC/Alaska border, to the Japanese Alps, to the Columbia ranges of interior BC, to reaches of the Southern Chilcotins Mtns and beyond.
We are excited to share these adventures into undiscovered zones and 'Sacred Grounds' that hold the best possible terrain environment for displaying these riders passion for skiing. The mountains provide us with so many blessings but can also take it all away in an instant - for this respect is due, a life of dedication is needed, and a whole lot of effort is required, all of which is rewarded with the times of their lives when it all comes together.
Part 1 of the series takes us on a journey to a remote water locked cabin in an unexplored region of the South Coast of BC as well as through the backcountry skiing Mecca known as the Sea To Sky Corridor [Squamish, Whistler & Pemberton], rediscovering the terrain that shaped these riders from youth.
We hope you enjoy the ride along on the journey into our Sacred Grounds.

Thank you MSP partnering with Kye and stoked to see more of the series! Kye is definitely at the pinnacle of the sport and has been for a while.

That was epic, I enjoyed watching these ski runs so much. It took me back to my 20's when 3 guy friends and I were the New England ski watchers for all the radio stations in the North East. We didn't ski any mountains that were comparable to this but we sure had so much fun and had a bond that was priceless. We all were able to ski for free as long as we phoned back the exact conditions on the different mountain slopes within the first 2 hours so families could schedule their trips to the different resorts. It was an incredible deal for us while attending college and it was a great way for the different broadcasting networks to inform the general public on the conditions of the bunny slopes, intermediate slopes, and diamond back trails.

"Remote and untapped, this allows a disconnect from the world of instant gratification... what lies before them is mother nature in her finest form..." What a crock... dude says he wants to take the chopper back to the lodge because he's "kinda getting hungry". If you're going to use helis to shatter the quiet solitude of the mountains, don't go wax poetic "with patience and gratitude we can share in the chance to continue our mountainous journey, a lifelong journey formed each step of the way". lol

These mountains never see weak, faceted layers. Y'all don't know how lucky you are.

Nice clear-cut in the background of that last zone you filmed.

absolutely weak faceted layers in the sea to sky, right now in fact, have been a few close calls in the Whistler area the past couple weeks (shallow with a MFc from late November).Yes, things tend to be bomber in later season March/April/May when big stuff gets skied and filmed, thank you maritime coastal snowpack.

My advice is don't tell anyone what your doing or what your flight plan is.

sountrack is great, skiing is epic, scenery is beautiful, amazing filming and editing. The only thing it needs is less radio chatter. TGR does that and I find it so anoying and cheesey. Ya'lll are way better than them. TGR hasn't put out good film in years. This is great

Sacred Grounds? No mention of First Nations in the intro? Seems pretty 10 years ago…

Cmon you're a major company you can't have a sound quality like this anymore. The sound of that monologue is utterly horrendous. Makes it really hard to go through this video without muting it.

Another magnificent glorification of the idol that is extreme personal pleasure in big mountain freeriding. Beware: there's a huge difference between passion and idolatry. Anything you love with all your heart, mind, soul, & strength that is not God is idolatry. All the temporal fun melts away on Judgment Day. Repent & stop the idolatry.

I think you might be one of the weirdos being complained of above. I also think I might be with you. I'm struggling not to find this sort of disrespectful. Not sure why, plenty of other Big Mountain Skiing I love - Thovex, Hoji, et al. Maybe I'm jealous. Maybe I just hate the soundtrack. The skiing and terrain is incredible and yet...
