A Summary of the Technological Tiers This chart came with the Halo 3 Collector’s Edition in the Bestiarum book. FROM HALOPEDIA A Technological Achievement Tier was a level of categorization used by the Forerunners to assess the technological advancement of civilizations. This system was later adopted by the Covenant. The lower the Tier number, the more advanced the civilization. Tier 7: Pre-Industrial Tier 7 is one of the most common and stable states, with limited weaponry and environmental threats. Societies tend to be small and scattered, driven by subsistence farming, foraging, or hunter-gathering needs. Technology is limited to simple hand made tools, weapons, or agrarian implements and methods, but a very broad understanding of planetary and solar mechanics is not uncommon. -Everyone Post-Reseeding Tier 6: Industrial Tier 6 is the outset for massive urbanization. Agrarian societies can remain stable in the pre-industrial stage, but Tier 6 population strain and mechanized food production invariably create political and economic pressures very few can balance. Moving past this usually promises advancement. Some societies improve environmental and medical understanding concurrently with mechanical and transport advancement. Those that do not are frequently doomed. -Humanity (18th to mid-20th century) -Grunts (Pre-Covenant) -Possibly Brutes (Pre-Covenant), had just rediscovered the radio and flight. Tier 5: Atomic Age Tier 5 species usually begin focusing on clean energy production. The occasional belligerent species will use atomic energy for weapons, often resulting in mass extinctions. In-atmosphere craft are a hallmark, often leading to manned space flight, albeit in a short-scale. -Humanity (1945) -Prophets Stoics (852 BC) Tier 4: Space Age Tier 4 is often the final resting place for species intelligent enough to break free from their cradle’s surface only to fill the gulf surrounding it with war. Their comfort-focused technology can include medical advances. -Humanity (2160s) -Jackels (Pre-Covenant) -Drones (Pre-Covenant) -Brutes (Pre-Immolation) Tier 3: Space-Faring Species has efficient slipspace navigation, mass drivers, asynchronous linear-induction weapons, holocrystal storage and semi-sentient AI; though their creation requires memory transfer from the freshly deceased and/or flash cloning. They have had no outside influence. -Humanity (25th-26th century) -Hunters (Pre-Covenant) Tier 2: Interstellar The species has the ability to perform exceedingly accurate slipspace navigation, near-instantaneous interstellar communication and man-portable application of energy manipulation. -Prophets -Elites -Grunt (Adopted) -Brute (Adopted) -Jackel (Adopted) -Drone (Adopted) -Hunter (Adopted) -Covenant (26th-century) Tier 1: World Builder The species has the ability to manipulate gravitational forces, create AI with full sentience, fabricate super-dense materials, perform super-accurate slipspace navigation, the ability to create life, and the ability to create worlds. -The Forerunners -(Possible) Prehistoric Prophets -(Possible) Prehistoric Humanity Tier 0: Transsentient As the Forerunners had no examples of civilizations with technological accomplishments greater than themselves, with the exception of the Precursors, this is a theoretical ceiling. It is suspected that they can travel between galaxies and accelerate the evolution of intelligent life. -The Precursors Hope this helps.

I would say the glassing of Balaho went the same way as the end of World War 2. One ship fires, elites tell the Grunts to surrender, repeat steps one and two until the Grunts surrender.

Yapyap was a serious character in the early halo novels.

He also worked for the Covenant Health department apparently in some sources . In any case I think the Banished kidnapped the wrong one lol.

"They're xenos, who cares?" most universes outside of 40k, so that xenocidal schtick might need to be dropped depending on how far your journey through sci fi takes you. You ever want to cover Mass Effect? Well then the commissar cap must come off. Because the joke would be so forced and over repeated. Side note, Mass effect lore gameplay and especially fan art and fiction would be great psych torture for the Imperium's zealots. There is one other self spreading consumer overrun scenario where the solution was neutralize threat in dead setting, the re-seed with life. I will not tell you the name, as it's a spoiler and I love it so dearly. To underestimate an opponent can be one's downfall. The Covenant underestimated the grunts. They later underestimated Humanity. When both sides underestimate the other though... shrugs towards Tau v Imps.

@cr90captain89 Год назад
way late, but this misconception needs to stop tau only survived cause the imperium had other shit to deal with, orks, necrons, eldar, chaos & tyrannids. and they decided the great devourer was a more pressing concern. plus it wasn't even an sanctioned crusade, it was only called such because of so many space marine chapters taking part. the tau would fold & crumple under a dedicated, focused crusade. tau be laughing till the mountain starts walking.
@bthsr7113
@bthsr7113 Год назад
@@cr90captain89 Yeah, but the Imperium took much heavier losses than they expected. Because they underestimated their opponent. And by your logic, if the Necrons or 'nids brought full forces to bear on just the Imperium, humanity would fall save for writer bias.
@cr90captain89
@cr90captain89 Год назад
@@bthsr7113 that's kind of the point, the Necrons, Orks & Nids would deck wipe everybody. because everyone always looks at level of technology of a setting, but never at the sheer scale of said setting. Necrons have de atomizers, that ignore shielding & armor turning your ship to ash particle by ashy particle & vehicles reserved for wars of annihilation. Orks have reality breaking powers, though belief & horde mentality (WUUUUAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH) & the nids can & will just overrun anybody through sheer weight of numbers. try shooting a nebula made of Nids & see how they fair.

Weak ? react to a video on their biology . Grunts are anything but weak compared to humans. Biologically Grunts are like a mix of Chimpanzee , giant crab and a goblin like creature. Sharp teeth , sharp claws, bullet resistant shell, strong enough to rip a human marine apart in the books. They also stand around 5ft 5in tall when standing up straight. As to Yapyap well he was a self-proclaimed Yapyap the DESTROYER was a low ranking Deacon in the Covenant's Ministry of Sanitation before being kidnapped by the Banished. Yapyap rose through the chain of command within the Banished due to being slower than the other Grunts at avoiding eye contact when a job needed to be filled. The Ministry of Sanitation was basically the Health department of the Covenant. Most of his fame is off his cousin Yayap's reputation. Yayap was an intelligent Unggoy who lived during the 9th Age of Reclamation. He distinguished himself during the Battle of Installation 04.Yayap was an Unggoy Major assigned to a sleepy Unggoy unit in the Fleet of Particular Justice, commanding others of his race, including his friend Gagaw. Yayap was a cousin of Bapap, one of the first members of the Covenant to encounter humanity at Harvest. Basically the Banished kidnapped the wrong member of the extended family if they were looking for Yayap. lol.

I disagree somewhat with Archo on the Balahoo glassing thing. As if you did glass half a planet, that's still only half. The other half can still have the cities and stuff and be fine. WW2 Japan for example, got nuked twice, you can go there and see cities today and all be fine and dandy. It definitely wasn't all glassed and even then it's shown that it doesn't take particularly long for recolonization efforts to glassed plants begin. So moot point on both sides for Xperia and Archo.

Except the covenant would only burn water sources military installations and civilians to cause terror and no water combined with that destruction i think messed with the atmosphere rendering the planet useless
